Next to Shanghai`s art district, M50, you will find a huge complex covered with trees, called “1000 Trees” designed by the British designer Thomas Heatherwick`s studio. 🌇🌿 This beautiful mall complex, which harmonizes all its neighboring landscape, is filled with columns abound with trees and plants🌳🌿, making it look as if green shoots have sprouted up through the building to bloom on the skyline. 🏢 Each floor of the building has a terraces with panoramic views 🤪 and columns bringing nature close to each level. From a distance the 1000 Trees emerge like a pair of first-capped mountains. ⛰️🌿😍 It is a nice place to visit when you are in the area. You can have a beautiful walk there since it is located on the bend in Suzhou Creek, bounded by the river 🌅 to the north, the M50 art district 🧑‍🎨 to the south and a residential area to the east. If you love modern art, and street art in particular, then you can visit M50 Creative Park in Shanghai. It's located at 50 Moganshan Road (hence the name) just across the river from Shanghai Railway Station. The area is free to enter, and you can enjoy plenty of creative murals all around the complex on the walls, roofs and doors. It's a perfect place for that Instagram moment. There is more to do than just admiring the graffiti. You can visit one of the many shops here. There are art galleries, coffee shops and shops to buy handmade jewelry and other crafts. You can even join a workshop and let your creative juices flow.

Getting There - You can either take the taxi or the metro and get off at Zhongtan Road 🚕 Attractions - It’s a mall and inside the mall are various art galleries and exhibitions. 🛍 Food & Restaurants - There’s a massive food court and various restaurants on the terrace. 🍱 Shopping - An array of clothing stores for the whole family. 🛒 I’ve been watching as they have build this mall over the past two years, at first it looks like a gigantic island filled with trees and as you make your way into the doors your at a world class mall. 🌳 I’m not a big fan of malls but this mall is so beautiful, it has various art galleries and exhibitions as you go about your day. 🖼 While a few places are still under-construction I can’t wait to see everything open and complete. 🚪 Make sure you find a terrace to have a view of the river and people watch if that’s your thing. 🌉 #1000 #spring #malls

Far from being an expert, I still love looking at the intricacies of accomplished or passionate artists. Shanghai Art District named M50 is exactly the place to do that. Although lacking some of those famous European buildings down by the French Concession, M50 has a uniquely European, Bohemian vibe, with it's small independent coffee shops, hipster art stores and graffiti littered all over the walls, from big to small. You could spend several hours browsing art works and speaking to there creators. It's truly a unique space in Shanghai, and not one to miss out on. 50 Moganshan lu - M50 Creative Park is one my favorite spots in Shanghai to appreciate local artists. A lofty, grungy spot with awesome art. A must for any art lover. Permanent artist studios and temporary exhibitions keep the space fresh and evolving. Graffiti art, sculpture and minimalist architecture abounds. Can be busy over the national holidays, so I recommend a lazy Sunday to visit the area. Cafe’s and coffee trucks available. clean bathroom and seating available. M50 Creative Park has multiple buildings with lots of art spaces and studios. If you are staying just few days in Downtown Shanghai, then this is a must place to go.

Getting There - Metro line 3,4 ( Shanghai Railway station) or 1. 10am-6pm Attractions - This is an art district. Over here you can find galleries where you can see different types of art and art techniques. Most of it are free. Artists will share their work space and their paintings with you for free. N50 is close to West Suzhou Road in Jing'an District. It reminds me of a mini 798 Art Zone, where I used to go in Beijing. I liked it there. It's a nice place for a leisurely stroll.

The riverside retains the most complete legacy of national industrial buildings. The exhibition uses an imaginative and highly industry-intrusive 'big foot,' which leaves conspicuous footprints wherever it steps. This 'big foot' launches wave after wave of era-shocking and spiritually penetrating stomping actions on the public, avant-garde culture, and the flow society. The 'big foot' in 'The Traces I Leave in This World' appears to be a 'solo choir' of one person, yet it is also plural; it is both one and many, both silent and tumultuous, deeply intervening in contemporary life, daily routines, and public society. 'The Traces I Leave in This World' gathers the energy, information, and people of public society into a specific spatial field, even focusing on the more specific 'sole.' Thus, the exhibition systematically constructs the symbols of 'sole' and 'footprint' extracted and abstracted from daily life, thereby facilitating a higher-dimensional value production. M50 Free Exhibition, it's my first time visiting Jiu Space, which is currently showcasing Zhang Qikai's 'Clouds in the Sky' exhibition. His works mainly include painting, installation, performance, and multimedia. He focuses on absorbing the essence of traditional Eastern culture and integrating it into the contemporary humanistic context through the expression forms of Eastern aesthetics. His works cover various aspects from natural space to human living space, striving to express the subtle nuances that words cannot reach, aiming to evoke a spiritual resonance in the viewers. An unexpected surprise during the exhibition was encountering the gallery owner's cat, which is like the guardian of the gallery. It looks like a cool and aloof CEO, but in reality, it has a very good temper and loves to be petted. If you pet it well, it will even act cute and coquettish with you, a perfect example of contrasting cuteness 🐱.
