The City God Temple of Shanghai was built during the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty. It was originally the Jinshan Temple, dedicated to General Huo Guang. Later, it was dedicated to the City God of Shanghai, Qin Yubo. During the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty, the temple base gradually expanded, and more buildings were added. The main buildings include the main hall, Yuanchen Hall, Parents Hall, and twelve other halls, covering an area of about 3,000 square meters. Entering through the ceremonial gate, the side rooms on both sides of the square are two stories high. Opposite the ceremonial gate on the central axis is the Huo Guang Hall, connected to the Taisui Hall at the back. Exiting the Taisui Hall leads to the backyard, with the City God Hall in front, the Guansheng Hall on the west side, and the Wenchang Hall on the east side.
