It was my first time visiting the mid-hill area of Genting, and my Malaysian friend highly recommended this place for lunch. I had never heard of the brand before, but since my friend is a fellow foodie, I decided to trust her judgment completely. I’m so glad I did because it turned out to be a great and delicious experience, and I don’t regret a single bite! In fact, I’m excited to share this hidden gem with you. . Many locals are familiar with this spot, though it’s likely not as well-known among tourists. . Although we didn’t order a huge spread, the few dishes we tried were more than enough to judge the quality of the food. What really stood out to me was the unique cooking style. For instance, they served potato leaves in a claypot, something I’ve never seen before—it really added a special touch to the dish. . Another highlight was the clam/lala soup, which was infused with basil leaves, giving it an incredibly fragrant aroma and flavor that elevated the entire meal. Similar to Taiwanese cuisine, which often incorporates a lot of basil leaves, especially in clam dishes. . And the best part? Despite being in the Genting Highlands, where you might expect things to be pricier, the food was surprisingly affordable. It was definitely a satisfying meal, and I can’t wait for you to try it too! . The downside, however, is that parking can be difficult to find, and there’s often a long queue. As Singapore weather is getting more extremely hot and humid, my family and myself thought that it would be great to enjoy a slightly colder weather. Genting, to many adults are more often just casino. While to a traveler like myself, it is more than just about gambling. This trip, we chosen more time in enjoying different foods and trip to Gothong Jaya which is mid hill at Genting. There are good foods there and just nice a right season for durian. The durian we ate super great and creamy. And not to mention, first time visiting the premium outlets there. Good experience and enjoying trip comparing to the past. For those went to Genting, yet to visit Gothong Jaya, I would suggest give it a try. Use grab than taxi service to go downhill.

Nice food but expensive

Tucked away in the cool hills of Gohtong Jaya, Loong Kee is a gem for anyone seeking hearty, authentic Chinese-style comfort food. We recently visited and were blown away by the depth of flavors and the homely atmosphere. The Superior Clam Soup with Vermicelli was a standout. The broth was light yet packed with natural sweetness from the fresh clams, delicately balanced with hints of ginger and Chinese wine. The vermicelli soaked up all the goodness, making each bite both silky and flavorful — perfect for the cool mountain weather. We also tried their Deep Fried Pork Belly, which was absolutely addictive. Each piece was golden, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, with just the right amount of seasoning. It came piping hot and paired perfectly with a simple chili sauce on the side. You could taste the care put into the frying process — not greasy at all. Another highlight was the Claypot Braised Beancurd. The tofu was silky-soft, absorbing the rich, savory sauce filled with mushrooms, vegetables, and bits of minced meat. Served bubbling hot in a claypot, it was pure comfort in every mouthful, ideal to spoon over a plate of steaming white rice. Overall, Loong Kee offers a satisfying meal with traditional techniques. It's a perfect spot for a cozy family lunch or dinner when you're up in Genting Highlands' foothills.
