If you are on Shengsi island or Shengshan Island, you CANNOT miss Longtouwan also known as 无人村, located on Shengshan Island. These islands are a ferry ride away from Shanghai. Shengsi and Shenghan islands are linked by a bridge. It costs 60 kuai for the Longtouwan entry and probably a little bit more to get a driver to bring you there. I personally hiked around the island which is definitely possible if you like walking. For 60 kuai you get an amazing view from the top and also to walk around the now inhabited fisherman village. Visiting off tourist season will give you lots of opportunities for nice shots as well as lots of space for a quiet walk.
