Jennifer Guidi - Full Moon

The current exhibit by Jennifer Guidi in West Bund’s Long Museum is free to visit. While it’s quite small, the artwork is beautifully crafted. Based on Jennifer’s love of the moon and astrological signs; it’s the first exhibit in China from her work. It’s worth a visit, although it is filled with people getting photos under each piece of artwork. Ever thought of what you can do with old scrap 🗝️ metal or an abandoned railway 🚂 track; I guess Shanghai municipality has got a better answer for that - turn it into art 🎨. Running down the 🛣️ road from Middle Longhua road station in 500 meters, this gigantic metal structure will come into your view. If you go here, after 6.30 pm in the evening you can see lot of kids playing around with their skating 🛹 boards, elderly persons doing their everyday exercises and youthful people running down 🏃 the tracks. A most special Starbucks store spotted on the West Bund! The cherry blossom-themed decorations are only during the beautiful spring time. Situated in the West Bund service space just 5mins walk from the Long Museum (which is also a famous cherry blossom viewing spot), this Starbucks has a nice Huangpu river view all year round. There are several cherry trees in front of the store, which makes it even nicer in spring. With the pink decoration, spring-themed drinks and desserts plus plenty of open space, this store is a perfect place to spend an afternoon enjoying the breeze and colors of spring. In Ghadyanloo's paintings, the most recurring motifs are display windows (or boxes) and children's play equipment. In his recent works, Ghadyanloo has depicted a series of children's play structures—slides and merry-go-rounds—in various sizes, shapes, and vibrant colors, mostly placed inside box-like display windows. With the lighting from above, these scenes evoke a sense of surrealism and symbolism. On Museum Day, May 18th, the final stop of the journey was at the Long Museum. A long queue formed at the entrance, and upon seeing the museum's notice that the wait would be two hours, I immediately decided to retreat. While everyone was rushing to the main exhibition, this outstanding exhibition in the annex was not overly crowded, thankfully allowing me not to leave empty-handed.

I rode early in the morning straight to Longmei to admire the Somei Yoshino cherry blossoms. With fewer people, it's truly beautiful! The weekends are packed with people!
