Naha's regular hotel, "Loisir Hotel Naha" and diving
In Okinawa, I love the Loisir Hotel Naha.
It's about a 15-minute taxi ride from the airport, and is conveniently located near Kokusai-dori and the downtown area of Matsuyama. It has an indoor pool, an outdoor pool, a large bath, a spa, and a 7-Eleven on-site, so it's a very convenient hotel.
Many resort hotels in Okinawa have private beaches, but you have to drive for more than an hour to get there, so a rental car is essential.
For those who don't want to drive, I recommend a hotel in Naha city.
If you just want to swim, you can enjoy the pool, and if you want to enjoy the beautiful sea, there are beaches called Naminoue Beach and Chura SUN Beach within taxi distance.
If you take a boat from the port about 15 minutes from the hotel, you can even go on day trips to the islands of the Kerama Islands.
Personally, I enjoy diving at a diving spot called Shisa (they provide a shuttle to the hotel, which is convenient!).
The diving spots change every time, but if you take a boat to the area around the Kerama Islands and dive, you will find some of the most beautiful ocean in the world.
If I had to say, the ocean is on par with or even better than that of Miyakojima or Ishigakijima.
I think it would be a waste to go to Okinawa and not experience this beautiful ocean.
I definitely want you to experience the beautiful ocean of the Kerama Islands.
There are also delicious spots to eat within the hotels, but if you're in Naha, I also recommend going out and eating in the city!
In the last 10 years, Okinawa's restaurants have evolved dramatically, with many restaurant owners from Tokyo setting up shop there, and above all, many wealthy people have moved to the Naha area, and against this backdrop, the number of delicious restaurants has increased.
Many restaurants are small and require a referral, but if you search and call, you'll find some places that will accept you, so I hope you enjoy Okinawa's restaurants.
Speaking of restaurants that you can make reservations for, there are long-standing popular restaurants such as "Gyuou" and "Yakiniku Hana" for yakiniku, as well as "Yakiniku Lion" and the recent recommendation "Yakiniku Ryumon".
There are also many other delicious restaurants, such as "Aso" for grilled fish (lunch only), "IBISCO" for Italian food, "Yaoyao" for Chinese food and "SAKUMOTO" for French food, "Takuyoshi" and "Matsumoto" for shabu-shabu, "Suuugijii" for Okinawa soba, "Yoshimine" for yakitori, and many more.
And there are many restaurants that are by introduction only and do not seem to be open at first glance.
With the weak yen making overseas travel difficult these days, we recommend things to enjoy in Okinawa!
