Flowing Flower Lake Park | Cat Paradise! You can also see the black swan up close
Address: No. 100, Liuhua Road, Yuexiu District, Guangzhou, Guangdong Province
Guangzhou is so big, why do I go back to Liuhua Lake Park again and again? Because it’s not only green and comfortable, it’s also a quiet and spiritual place, and there’s always some little surprises every time you go.
The park was originally expanded from a natural lake in the 1950s, and its name "Flowing Flowers" is said to come from the meaning of the nearby River Creek River and the Flowerfield River. It used to belong to the countryside at the foot of Yuexiu Mountain, and later slowly transformed into an urban oasis. It still retains many of the natural lakes and wetland ecology, which is very comfortable.
The most recommended is the South Gate entrance, very close to the MTR Rainbow Bridge station, a few minutes walk from the station. If you take the bus, it is very convenient to get off at Dongfeng West Road Station. It’s not actually very large, but it’s spacious enough to suddenly become quiet in the middle of a busy city, like stealing half a day of your life.
First of all—cat! There are so many cats! I haven't counted how many, but once I really saw more than thirty at once, and all of them were not afraid of people. The area on the right near the water, especially many cats gather. I always bring some cat snacks (freeze dried) every time I go, and when I gently shake the package, the cat comes up, super healing. If you are a photographer, you will like it even more here, the cat is beautiful and obedient, the background has a very European feel of the water church, a casual shot is very feeling.
Walk to the left near the lake and the black swans swim around in pairs, completely unobstructed and you can walk very close to look at them. It's relatively quiet over there, perfect for daze alone or hanging out reading a book, and you can sit under the shade of the trees until the sunset, which is very relaxing.
I have to praise that the whole park facilities are quite courteous: there are enough washrooms and clean, the washbasin distribution is very reasonable, for me like me after touching cats and cleanliness super plus;
There are no restaurants outside the park, but after walking back out of the south gate, walk straight for 10 minutes to Xihua Road, where you can eat authentic Cantonese cuisine, beef jerky, boat congee, barbecue rice everything, an average meal does not spend HK $ 40, is definitely the perfect ending after visiting the park.
In my eyes, Liuhua Lake Park is not a photo park or a big attraction, but one where you can really slow down, look at the water, touch the cat, and empty the seams of your life. There is nothing like the simple pleasure of walking around in a place like this and having a little daze with an iced lemon tea.
