[2025 New York Attraction] Travel Guide for Little Island (Updated May)

#usatravel #newyork During our visit to New York, we discovered a really cool new attraction called Little Island, a unique and innovative public park located on the Hudson River in New York City. The park was designed by British architect Thomas Heatherwick of Heatherwick Studio, with landscape architecture by Signe Nielsen of MNLA. The design includes 132 tulip-shaped concrete "pots" that support the landscape, giving the appearance of a floating island. When we saw it for the first time, we were surprised by the incredible beauty of the design. Little Island features a variety of gardens with over 350 species of flowers, trees, and shrubs, providing a lush and colorful environment. We explored for hours without getting bored. The park also hosts a variety of cultural events, including concerts, dance performances, theater productions, and art installations, often free to the public. We were lucky enough to see a cool performance during our visit. Entry to Little Island is free, but some events and performances may required tickets. So, please make sure to check their website for details before you're visiting. Overall, our experience was awesome, and this park has undoubtedly become our new favorite.

Since it is next to the Hudson River, it was a place with a beautiful view of the river, the view of the buildings below, and the garden~ It was a place that looked even more fairytale-like thanks to the sunny weather, just like a weather fairy! It was designed by a famous architect named Thomas Heatherwick, and the park area above was beautiful, but the Island Bridge below was especially a place that stood out. It was nice to walk up and down the observation deck, so it was nice to take a short walk. The scenery and composition changed every time I went up and down, so it was attractive to be able to enjoy a new view~

After eating delicious food and dessert at Chelsea Market, if you walk a little outside the city, you will see ‘Little Island’ right away. 🤗 At first glance, it looked like an upgraded version of Yeouido Hangang, but the island seen from afar looks like a futuristic city, and the inside is naturally decorated with trees and seasonal flowers, so it was nice to go in and enjoy the park! Also, I enjoyed the floor piano that is often seen in Reels and the sight of people playing the piano while stepping on the steps made me lose track of time! Lastly, a lobster restaurant in Chelsea Market! Ever since I can remember, everyone in our family had habits that we didn’t even pay attention to. We went to the store and the market with bags that my grandmother sewed (nowadays fashionable tote bags;)), shoes served for several seasons, and every spring and autumn we took them to restoration, clothes that were no longer needed, we either donated, or sold. Now I realize that all those habits were so environmentally friendly!

During my recent trip to New York City, I paid a visit to Little Island. So what is this Little Island place? Well, Little island is an attraction in New York City and it is an interesting and modern park by the pier at hudson river. Little island is a great place to come by and take a walk. You get to see beautiful views of the different buildings across and you get to see some gardens full of pretty flowers. The place is tranquil, quiet and not overly crowded. Little Island is located in Manhattan, near the 14 street/8 avenue station (connecting to four routes A/C/E/L), about 10 minutes walk after getting off. There are many resting places, there are some games for children to play, and there are many viewing spots with a view of the World Trade Center area😍😍

Little Island opened on May 21, 2021🌿 It is a floating park on the Hudson River that flows between Manhattan and New Jersey☺️ It wasn't there when I went there before COVID, so this was my first time going👟 It's quite compact compared to Central Park. But on the other hand, it gets quite crowded on weekends👭 You don't need to make a reservation in the morning, so it's recommended to go in the morning when there are fewer people! Little Island has three hills, each with a different view👍 Climb the hills and enjoy the view while enjoying the beautiful flowers and art☺️
