[2025 Budapest Airports] Travel Guide for Liszt Ferenc International Airport (Updated Jan)

Flying out from Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport, went through interesting duty free shop Heinemann. There is a huge selection of liquor and wine section. There is even a Taste and Fly section where you can sample taste some sausages and wine tasting! The most interesting is theee us large area where Unicum which is a Hungarian herbal liqueur which is drank after meals to help digestion. This Unicum is classified as Hungary National Drink, you have to try and buy some when you are in Budapest.

Returned from Budapest for business trip and here the update on Budapest Ferenc Liszt International airport, it is a relatively small airport with 2 terminals. The check in process is relatively straightforward. Once you passed the security check, there is a food court and some restaurants on the level 2. If you want to have proper meals, pls do it before passing passport control for international flights as there are limited choices for food once past passport control. There are also a few airline lounges for you to visit. There are some retail shops but very limited on what they offer.

Took Qatar airways from Budapest International airport and had a chance to visit Celebi Business Lounge at level 2 after passport control. It is a relatively small lounge but the seats are comfy enough to have some rest. They also serve both alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks and simple food like sandwiches and snacks. There is no boarding announcements in the lounge but there are a TV monitor to show all departing flights status.

Decent airport. Did online check in so flew through security gates in minutes. Lots of good F&B options after security and plentiful seating. Wifi was reliable and bathrooms easy to find. Excellent transportation options to downtown with the 100E and 200E airport busses running every few minutes. Duty free and restaurants/Cafe accept HUF and Euro. I used the Platinum Lounge at Liszt Ferenc International Airport in Hungary ☕️ Priority Pass holders can use it for free 🌟 It was located on the departure floor in the Schengen area, opposite Gate A8 ☺️ Since it was close to closing time, the buffet was almost empty and there were no refills 💦 The space is small, but there are many sofa seats, making it a comfortable place to relax 🤍 5:00-20:00

This hotel is a little pricey but it is right next to the hotel, a mere 300m walk away. Very good for an early morning flight. Breakfast cafe was open at 4am! There is a self check in kiosk at the hotel lobby which can print boarding passes and luggage tags - beats queuing at the departure terminal at the airport for sure. Breakfast buffet spread was wide and my kids enjoyed it.

📍Sky Court Lounge, Budapest The Sky Court Lounge at Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport is located on the middle floor of the lounge and food court between the airside terminals 2A and 2B. 🕖Operating hours: 4:30-22:00 Up to 2 hours available ✔️It was a small lounge, but there were many types of drinks, and less types of food than expected,, In the meantime, the coffee machine was out of service due to a breakdown ✔️Flight information monitor + the time required to move from the lounge is displayed. ✅For reference, Budapest Airport has Plaza Platinum Lounge and Sky Court Lounge in Terminal 2 (between 2A and 2B), Platinum Lounge (Schengen) in Terminal 2A Plaza Platinum Lounge (Non-Schengen), Platinum Lounge in Terminal 2B. Airport 2A seems to have flights to Schengen countries, while Airport 2B seems to have flights to non-Schengen countries. #Overseas travel

Flew back from Budapest and was at their Heinemann duty free outlet. The lay out of this outlet is interesting, there is a huge section on liquor for sales. The display of their Unicum is good and quite excessive. Unicum is a Hungarian herbal liquor which has more forty herb included with a special formula. This drink is typically taken after meals to improve digestion. This drink is created in year 1790. There is section for to have some tasting before any purchase. This is good and worth the visit.

Just returned from Budapest Hungary and flew via their Liszt Ferenc airport. It is relatively a small airport with 2 terminals next to each other within walking distance. The check in process is easy but self check in kiosks are limited. There are also limited dinning options in the public areas. There is a food court and some restaurants located at level 2 after crossing security check and with good selection of food and beverage options. However if you want to have proper dinning you have to do it before the passport control, after it, only snacks available.

Was at Liszt Ferenc Budapest International airport and visited their Platinum Business Lounge located at transit level 2. This was a relatively small lounge however, they provided a cosy area to relax while while waiting for next flight. The food and beverages selection were quite wide variety. The service staffs were all polite and friendly. There was no flight departure announcement though so be aware of flight info which was available on TV monitor.

Took Budapest Airport Bus service 100E from city Kavin ter directly to airport. The process is easy, convenient and most importantly at a fraction of cost compare to Taxi or airport private transfer. You can easily purchase ticket from Budapest GO apps and scanned the QR code to validate the ticket. The shuttle schedule is also pretty accurate. There are only 2 stops in the city before it goes directly to airport. Highly recommended to use this AirPort Express service.
