Yandang Mountain, with its unique and beautiful landscape, seemed to be a fairyland carefully prepared by nature for Xu Xiake, attracting him to visit many times. 👉🏿When Xu Xiake first came to Yandang Mountain, he was so shocked by the scenery in front of him that he was speechless. The peaks rose from the ground like swords piercing the sky, some like old men standing in deep thought, some like graceful fairies. He walked along the winding path, with the stream gurgling beside him, as if telling the ancient legend of Yandang Mountain. When he came to the Dalongqiu Waterfall, he saw the waterfall rushing down from the sky like a giant dragon, with splashes of water and a magnificent momentum. The roar of the waterfall echoed in the valley, and Xu Xiake stood there, letting the mist wet his clothes. He secretly admired in his heart that the grandeur of Dalongqiu must be a gift from heaven to the world. There is a large parking lot opposite the Lingyan Scenic Area. If you are not driving, you can take the scenic area bus, get off at the Fangdong Scenic Area first, and walk along the plank road to the Lingyan Scenic Area. 🌲The trees in the Lingyan Scenic Area are very tall, maintaining a relatively primitive forest appearance. There is a Zen temple at the foot of the mountain, which contrasts with the tall mountain body and is very artistic. 🚶It takes about half an hour to climb from the foot of the mountain to the glass plank road. When you reach the glass plank road, you can see the Broken Heart Cliff, a piece of independent and towering strange stone. Looking down from the plank road, you can see Xiaolongqiu, but in the dry season in summer, the waterfall has a small amount of water. Lingyan is mainly to see the peculiarities of the mountain peaks. Friends who like mountain climbing must come.

It changes the traditional "viewing the peaks from the valley bottom" tour mode of Yandang Mountain and connects the two major scenic spots of Fangdong and Lingyan. Peaks that once had to be looked up at are now jungles and palaces of stone beneath your feet, marveling at the wonders of nature and its incredible craftsmanship. - Travel Tips: From Spiritual Rock Temple to Wo Yun Plank Road, one needs to climb many steps upwards, which is very physically demanding. A more effortless way to explore is to first take the cable car or scenic bus to Fangdong, and from there to Wo Yun Plank Road the path is quite gentle. Then, descending from Wo Yun Plank Road to Spiritual Rock Temple will feel much easier.

1. Fangdong and Lingyan (combined ticket 80 yuan, tour time 3 hours). Take the scenic shuttle bus from the entrance of Lingyan Scenic Area to Fangdong. The walk from Fangdong to Lingyan is mostly downhill and relatively easy. A Wo Yun plank road has been built between the two spots for access. A steel cable has been stretched between Tianzhu Peak and Zhanqi Peak for the 'Lingyan Flying Crossing' performance, which can be watched from the Lingyan Scenic Area on Fridays to Sundays at 10:30/13:30/15:30, and Mondays to Thursdays at 10:30/15:30. There are 94 cliff carvings in Longbi Cave. 2. If you want to watch the Lingyan Flying Crossing performance, you should take the shuttle from Lingyan Scenic Area to Fangdong at 8 am (the path is mostly downhill and quite easy). If you can't make it that early but still want to see the performance, you can enter from Lingyan Scenic Area and head to Fangdong (the uphill climb will be quite strenuous). 3. At noon, take the scenic shuttle bus from the entrance of Lingyan Scenic Area to Xianglingtou Village for lunch. After lunch, take the shuttle bus from Xianglingtou Village to Lingfeng Scenic Area. 4. Lingfeng Scenic Area (45 yuan), tour time 2 hours (excluding the round trip to Zhenji Temple). We stayed at Jinxi Pavilion, located in the Dalongqiu scenic area, with dining downstairs and accommodation upstairs, a large balcony, and right outside is the high mountain stream, offering an amazing experience. There are also many similar homestays in the Lingfeng scenic area. After breakfast, visit the Dalongqiu scenic area. It's very convenient to walk in, no need to climb mountains, and there's a big waterfall inside. It's better to visit after the rain when there's more water, and it only takes about an hour to finish. Then you can visit the Lingfeng scenic area, the filming location of 'Nirvana in Fire'. Inside, there's a deep pool as profound as Jiuzhaigou, and the area is vast. We walked through regular spots like the Guanyin Cave, and if you're fit, you can go deeper. We went to Zhenji Temple, a relatively new and Zen-like courtyard. As a lesser-known mountain forest in eastern Zhejiang, it still has many spots left to explore. Of course, places that Xu Xiake once visited, such as Tiantai Mountain and Shengxianju, are also worth visiting.

On the afternoon of February 7th, after finishing the Wo Yun plank walkway, I entered the Spirit Rock scenic area. Descending along the cliffside plank walkway, I arrived at the Wo Long (Crouching Dragon) Pool. Indeed, this is a descending route that starts from the top, offering views of clear pools, plank walkways, perilous peaks, streams, waterfalls, ancient temples, cliffs, and secluded caves along the way, exiting through the South Heaven Gate and ending at the southern gate of the scenic area.
