The maple leaves at Jiuxi Yanshu in Hangzhou have turned red
Li'an Temple is a historic Buddhist temple.
It was originally named Fayu Temple and was also known as Yongquan Zen Temple.
According to historical records, the temple was built during the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period by the King of Wuyue. During the Southern Song Dynasty, Emperor Lizong, a devout Buddhist, often visited the temple to burn incense and changed its name to Li'an Temple.
Li'an Temple is famous for its "Fayu Spring," a mountain spring as famous as Hupao Spring. The spring water is clear and sweet, attracting many visitors to fetch water. In November, Li'an Temple sheds its thousand-year-old coldness and takes on a rare, beautiful color.
The bricks and stones here have listened to Emperor Lizong's prayers for peace and prosperity and have borne the meditative thoughts of Kangxi, Yongzheng, and Qianlong.
In autumn, the maple leaves turn red and the osmanthus flowers bloom, unchanged for a thousand years.
Sitting under a tree, listening to the wind and drinking dew, quietly brewing tea and admiring flowers, in the torrent of time, who knows who once appreciated the same scene.
Every corner of Jiuxi Yanshu lives up to its beautiful name. Look up at the trees, look down at the flowers, listen to the babbling brook, and let time slow down.
Here, quietly listen to the sound of the stream and gaze at the misty bamboo forest.
With friends, run wild in nature and take deep breaths of fresh, natural oxygen.
Every step is a new view, and the beautiful scenery heals you again and again.

Lian Temple·Mountain Temple Osmanthus, a limited romance in the autumn of Jiangnan.
The Lian Temple in the depths of Jiuxi has a wave of its exclusive powder
Although the temple is no longer a temple, it has been changed to a tea house,
In the autumn when the osmanthus falls, I will still wait for a wave of mountain temple osmanthus

【Exploring Lian Temple】
🌿【Exploring Lian Temple】🌿
Lian Temple in Hangzhou has become a popular check-in spot on social media, not just because of its ancient archway and mysterious mist, but also due to the stories and charm behind it.
🚶♂️【Visit Insights】
1️⃣ Lian Temple is not just a Cantonese restaurant, but also a witness to history. The archway and mist are not only displayed in the evening; when I visited at noon, the lights were already on, and the mist rose every three minutes, as if telling a thousand-year-old story.
2️⃣ Although it is somewhat far from the city center, the tranquility and beauty here are definitely worth exploring. If you are traveling to Hangzhou, you might as well visit, but if you come specifically for it, you might be slightly disappointed.
3️⃣ Time-saving tips: From Jiuxi Bus Station, take an electric car directly to Jiuxi Yanshu, then walk for 5-8 minutes to reach.
📜【The Story of Lian Temple】
Lian Temple, formerly known as Yongquan Zen Temple, is also called Fayun Temple. During the Five Dynasties period, the eminent monk Fuhu Zhifeng Zen Master practiced here, and it was built by the King of Wuyue. It was named after the Fayun Spring in the temple. Later, Emperor Lizong of the Song Dynasty came here to offer incense and renamed it Lian, meaning peace and prosperity for the country and people. Today, the former glory is gone, leaving only relics such as Fayun Pavilion and Fayun Spring, making people sigh at the passage of time.
🎫【Practical Information】
- Transportation: 30 minutes walk from Jiuxi Bus Station or 15 minutes walk from Yangmeiling Station.
- Tickets: Free admission.
- Visiting time: It is recommended to avoid noon and choose early morning or evening when the light is soft.
📷【Attraction Details】
- Entrance Archway: After passing through Jiuxi Yanshu, Lian Temple's entrance is not far away. The three characters "Lian Temple" on the archway reveal the vicissitudes of history.
- Mountain Gate: The couplet on the mountain gate "Crossing the ridge to the solitary temple, the sound of the river enters the mountains" makes people feel as if they have traveled back to the Ming Dynasty, experiencing the tranquility and depth.
- Inner Garden: The small bridges and flowing water in the temple, along with the deep courtyards, seem like a serene ink painting, making people feel relaxed and happy.
- Yongquan Hall: Once a side hall, it has now become part of history, quietly telling the past.
- Fayun Pavilion: The couplet in the pavilion "The spring milk flows through the steps, the flower fragrance hangs on the vines" makes people feel the wisdom and poetry of the ancients.
- Fayun Spring: Famous alongside Hupao Spring, the couplet on the stone pillar "The green snail clears the Fayun, the green trees shade the clear spring" makes people feel the gift of nature.
- Original Main Hall: The "Tree Most Victorious Banner" inscribed by Emperor Qianlong has now become a restaurant, allowing people to feel the weight of history while enjoying delicious food.
- Memorial Hall: The most important building in the temple, commemorating Zen Master Fuhu. The plaque "The great revival of the sect" makes people feel respectful.

Enjoying the autumn in Hangzhou's Jiuxi, the brilliant maple leaves bloom like oil paintings
Jiuxi Yanshu is located under the west chicken crown ridge of West Lake, with nine streams dyed red by maple winding around the valley. Along the winding path, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the peak and clear spring reflecting each other. Under the sunlight, the maple leaves emit a transparent deep red, like a beautiful scroll. Here you can freely shoot these beautiful scenes, and also enjoy plenty of fresh air. The stream is clear and visible, flowing directly through the bluestone road, giving a unique feeling.
✅【Travel Mode】
🚗Self-driving navigation to 'Jiuxi No.1 Parking Lot', which is a multi-storey parking lot. From here, it's about 300m to the small waterfall shooting point, which is not far from the entrance; try to go early, there are basically no parking spaces after 10 am.

📸Photo spots:
Jiuxi Yanshu
A popular tree standing proudly in the lake. The reflection of the red maple and the green wave lake water create a very artistic scene.
Jiuxi Eighteen Streams
Along the sides of the stream, the autumn colors of the forest are intoxicating. This is a great shooting spot, especially those places mixed with small bridges.
Longjing Village
This Longjing Village is full of green tea. In the tea garden, there will occasionally be lonely ginkgo and maple trees accompanying, and the green tea leaves bring a poetic atmosphere to the whole scenic area.
White wall of the Buddhist temple roof
Next to the incense-filled Buddhist temple, the autumn colors and religious atmosphere form a perfect fusion. The white wall with the architecture of the temple highlights the feeling of tranquility.
Yangmeiling
The section to Yangmeiling has Li'an Temple, which used to be a small attraction, but now it's a restaurant called Jing'an Restaurant. The dishes in this restaurant are also very delicious. Although the price is expensive, it is still worth the money. You can try it. The entrance is also installed with quaint small lights, which are very atmospheric in the mountains, like fireflies.
📖Suggestions
✔️The scenic area is often congested on weekends, so it is recommended to take the bus.
✔️Bring your own water and snacks, the mineral water inside is priced at 3 yuan, eat enough to start with full strength
✔️Wearing comfortable shoes is also important, because the whole hiking process will be hot, and a light and easy-to-take-off jacket is also very practical.
✔️It's best to go to the scenic area on a sunny day, so that the light is sufficient, the maple leaves in the sun will emit red light, and the light and shadow effect of the small waterfall is also very charming.
✔️Sisters who can't walk can take a sightseeing car, there is one at the entrance of Jiuxi
💰Single ticket: 1 station 5 yuan/person 2 stations 8 yuan/person 3 stations 12 yuan/person
⏰Time 9:00-17:00
In short, the autumn of Jiuxi is very beautiful. The sunlight through the maple leaves sprinkles on the ground, creating a picture-like scene, which makes people sigh. If I have the chance, I must come here for a hike. The green vegetation here exists for a long time, and the color changes in autumn, forming a spectacular picture of red and yellow interlacing. The red of the maple leaves and the flowing water are interesting, intoxicating. Along the way, you can also enjoy the ancient road through the stream, the trees that have experienced wind and rain, and the lush tea garden. It's really a natural oxygen bar, not only can satisfy visual enjoyment, but also bring fresh air to the lungs. If you're lucky, you can also encounter the misty rain, as if you are in a fairyland.
