Leshan Buddha day trip
Leshan Buddha attraction was amazing and beautiful to see. It was very easy to get to after doing my research.
There is a train from Chengdu east that takes around 1hr to Leshan. Once in Leshan I went the scenic route and got the bus from the bus station next to the train station. The bus K1 takes you there in 30mins, when you get there it a 10min walk to the entrance to the North gate.
You can buy your ticket there and no need to prebook just have your ID. The walk from the north Gate is quicker but a lot of stairs to get to the statue but worth it. Great day out 👣#2023travelwish #bucketlistreboot#chinatravel

Leshan Museum.
The Leshan Giant Buddha Museum is located on the east bank of the Min River in Shizhong District, Leshan City. It was completed in October 2006. The museum covers an area of 18,500 square meters and adopts a special architectural design, combining a variety of architectural structures to reflect the natural and cultural connotations of the World Heritage Site. The museum houses fine collections such as Xu Beihong's "Galloping Horse" and uses sound, light, electricity, and other technological means to display the history and culture of Leshan.

The Museum of Emei Mountain is located in the Emei Shan (Mount Emei) area in Sichuan, China, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its scenic beauty and cultural significance. The museum is dedicated to showcasing the natural history, cultural heritage, and religious importance of Mount Emei, which is one of the Four Sacred Buddhist Mountains in China.
Key Features:
1. Exhibits on Mount Emei's Biodiversity: The museum houses extensive collections that display the rich biodiversity of the region, including exhibits on the various plants, animals, and geological features found on Mount Emei.
2. Buddhist Culture and Heritage: Since Mount Emei is a key site for Buddhism in China, the museum features exhibitions on the history of Buddhism in the region, the temples located on the mountain, and artifacts related to the spiritual and cultural practices associated with the mountain.
3. Cultural Artifacts: The museum displays various cultural artifacts, including ancient texts, statues, and religious items that date back to the Tang and Ming Dynasties.
4. Environmental Awareness: There are sections dedicated to educating visitors about environmental protection and the importance of conserving the natural environment of Mount Emei.

Must-visit museums in Leshan!
Leshan Giant Buddha Museum is also the Leshan City Museum.
The collection is quite standard, nothing too surprising, but the architecture of the Leshan Giant Buddha Museum is truly amazing. It combines indoor and outdoor spaces, with one entire wall borrowing from the natural cliff face, and there's even a cliff tomb cave—so cool! The hall also uses natural light, making the entire space feel very open.
The museum isn't very large, and part of it is an office, so you can tour it quite quickly.
One thing that left a deep impression on me was a 'Buddhist Statue Comparison Chart' inside, which I found very interesting.
They made a model group photo of several large Buddhist statues from across the country, directly comparing their sizes. I realized that I had already seen some of them without specifically going to see them!
There's also a mini version of the Leshan Giant Buddha inside, which is kind of cute, and features of ancient Shu culture—a smiling pottery figurine. I was charmed by it when I saw it at the Chengdu Museum! The smile is so joyful! This place indeed has a magical power to make people happy! It has never changed through the ages.
