Honfleur is a port town in France! This is a place where trade with England was active. The buildings are lined with historic wooden architecture, and the colorful colors give it a very stylish and cute look 😳❤ As it is a port town, salt and salted caramel are famous 🍭🍬 This area is also home to the birthplace of musician Erik Satie 😊 Speaking of Satie, "Gymnopedie" and "Je teux veux" are famous! The hotel is 5 mins by walk from the bus terminal, which makes it extremely convenient. It's another 5 mins from the old town. Breakfast is included in the room rate and is basic but quite adequate. The rooms facing the back are especially quiet and relaxing which makes for a good stay. The rooms are extremely modern but very adequate. Finally the staff are extremely lovely and friendly. Honfleur - France: A couple hours drive from Paris. This is a lovely town with old style building. We can take a walk around the city and enjoy nice Seafood meals there during the day. There are a lot of restaurants located nearby the pier. There is also an old church located up on the hill which take half an hour walk only. 🛥🛥🛥

Honfleur is a cute port town in Normandy. This beautiful town has attracted many artists. Walking around the town, you feel like you've returned to the Middle Ages, with its half-timbered houses typical of Normandy and buildings with facades covered in deep blue flagstones. I was particularly impressed by Saint Catherine Church (4th photo). It is the largest wooden church in France. It was actually destroyed by the British army during the Hundred Years' War. The church was made of stone at that time. After that, due to financial issues, they were unable to build it with stone, and when they thought about how to rebuild the church, they thought that there were many forests around and there was plenty of wood! When they went inside, they felt a sense of relief that only wood can give. Honfleur is a very rustic town. I want to go back again. #OverseasTravelRecord #France

The shop is in a narrow high-rise building with both indoor and outdoor seating, which is perfect for enjoying the view. In the morning, the shop opens as a café, serving coffee and simple breakfast sets. From noon to evening, it is a full-fledged restaurant with a bar where you can sit and drink until late at night. This time, we came for breakfast. ➡️ Croque-Monsieur – Freshly baked, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. The bread on the outside is topped with grilled cheese. When you cut it open, you will see warm, melted cheese and a large piece of ham inside. Due to a missed flight and delay in arrival. I had to miss one night of my stay in Honfleur as I was only going to arrive the next day. And in that one day, I managed to get a good taste of what Honfleur can offer. Clearly now from experience, if i'm to return (most likely). I might even stay longer than 2 nights. While most of my time and activity was around the Vieux Bassin, the gorgeous old harbour. Do not mistake that to be the only thing Honfleur has to offer. It's full of heritage and centuries old townhouses, churches and historical structures including the likes of Normandy bridge, Saint Catherine's church, Notre dame de Grace and much more. It's a place with all the usual comforts that tourists seek such as vibrant night life, cuisine and local culture without the crowds. This gem is definitely on my list of places to go back to.
