A resort just an hour from Tokyo.
Located about a 15-minute walk straight from Karuizawa Station to Old Karuizawa. The entrance is 4-5 meters in from the gate along the street. Check-in was at the reception of a Western-style building that exudes history, and we enjoyed a welcome drink while watching the roaring fire in the fireplace. For dinner, we enjoyed an aperitif, appetizers, soup, and fish dishes, but the highlight was the main course of pan-seared domestic beef fillet with truffle-flavored onion confit. Since it was New Year's Eve, we were also served toshikoshi soba (year-crossing noodles).
