Grab a ticket to your desired location and skim over the train schedules. Find your departure time and arrive a little early. Toronto has a sustainable card-based ticket system. You can reload the card for regular use. TO > Ktch was a few hours ride. I was there by mid day. When I got off the train my friend was there to pick me up! Kitchener station isn’t big. This Monday, we decided to visit Toronto Centre Island, a tranquil and beautiful paradise. We avoided the weekend crowds. 🌟How to get to Centre Island? 1. Ferry 🚢 Depart from Jack Layton Ferry Terminal. Address: 9 Queens Quay W (See the last image for departure times) 2. Water Taxi 🚤 One-way adult fare: $12.5 cash/person, $14 card/person. Return trip can be taken for free by ferry. To catch the earliest ferry, we chose the one that was about to depart. After arriving at Hanlan’s Point, we began a walk of about 4 kilometers, eventually reaching Centre Island. The weather was very nice, and the scenery along the way was very healing❗️If you have your own bicycle 🚲, you can bring it to the island. Cycling on the island is also a great experience. ✨Along the lakeshore, we walked to Centre Island’s Bike Rental. We rented a tandem bicycle and rode to Ward’s Island for a tour, then returned to Centre Island to return the bike. This five-story red brick building is not only a historic landmark of Toronto but also the progenitor of the 'Flatiron Buildings' around the world. Completed in 1892, it has a history of over a century, predating the construction of the world-famous Manhattan Flatiron Building in New York by 10 years. Moreover, the back of this building is creatively adorned with a whimsical mural that cleverly integrates the actual windows of the building into the painting. The flat art creates a 3D effect that is quite interesting. The exterior of the building can of course be visited for free, and you can take photos at will, just be mindful to avoid the passing vehicles.
