[Yeongdo, Busan] A local experience at the Woman Diver Village! A hidden spot where you can experience sea urchin kimbap and woman diver culture (with cafe and exhibition room)
I had a local experience at the Haenyeo Village in Yeongdo, Busan, so I'd like to introduce it to you.
◼︎Where can you experience it?
The Haenyeo Village, located on the seaside of Yeongdo, Busan, is a hidden gem where you can enjoy cultural exhibitions and cafes, centered around a restaurant run by local haenyeo women. It's not too touristy, and the local feel is its charm!
◼︎The specialty is sea urchin kimbap and seafood ramen!
The first thing you should try when you come here is the kimbap topped with plenty of sea urchin.
The aroma of savory sesame oil and the melting sweetness of fresh sea urchin are exquisite, and it's a masterpiece that you can only taste here!
In addition, the seafood ramen based on spicy ramen is also popular. It is so delicious that you'll want to drink up the soup, with abalone, scallops, mussels, and more on top. Eating while looking at the sea in front of you is the best relaxing time.
◼︎A female diver culture exhibition room is located above the restaurant
On the second floor of the restaurant, there is a mini exhibition room where female divers' fishing gear and photos are displayed.
It's free to enter, so why not drop in after your meal? It's an intellectual and valuable experience that allows you to get up close and personal with Korean female diver culture.
◼︎Take a waffle break with a spectacular view at the cafe next door
Right nearby is Kore Coffee 2.0.
Their fluffy and crispy waffles are popular, and you can eat them inside the secret base shop. It's the perfect place to relax and enjoy the lingering memories of the female diver village.
