| A One-Day Tour Guide to the Fairy Tale Town by Lake Geneva.
Lausanne is a city in Switzerland that exudes an elegant atmosphere, located on the northern shores of Lake Geneva. It is a cultural and talent center of Switzerland and an ancient capital. The city has a long history, with people living in Lausanne during the Roman era. The medieval architecture of modern Lausanne still retains the Swiss harmony and tranquility.
.
Lausanne is not large, smaller than Geneva. When you come to Lausanne, you must visit Place de la Palud. It is a square in the center of Lausanne and also the heart of the pedestrian area. In the center of the square, there is a Justice Fountain, and behind the fountain stands a clock, surrounded by medieval buildings, including the Lausanne Town Hall built in the 17th century.
✨ Recommended spots in Lausanne that you must visit
🔸Lausanne Cathedral
In the old town of Lausanne, there is a church full of stories. The old town of Lausanne is a great place for a stroll. From Place de la Palud in Lausanne, you can slowly walk to the Cathedral of Notre Dame, built on the slope of a hill. The roads are paved with cobblestones, and as you walk up the road, you can also see the panorama of the old town, the romantic red roofs, and the shores of Lake Léman in the distance.
🔹Place de la Palud
With a strong medieval atmosphere, the streets are lined with colorful little houses that exude a fairy-tale charm, as if adorning the monotonous sky with a rainbow. The color scheme here is not a chaotic pile-up; each neighboring house complements the colors of the others.
There is a vegetable and fruit market every Wednesday and Saturday morning, which is very lively. Behind the fountain in the square, there is a musical clock that plays music every hour on the hour, which is quite interesting.
❗️tips:
To get from Geneva to Lausanne, it only takes a forty-minute train ride;
You can take the metro line M2 to Riponne-M.Béjart station;

|At the foot of the snow-capped mountains, by the shore of Lake Geneva. Lausanne is the capital of the canton of Vaud in Switzerland, the headquarters of the Olympic Committee, and the city of ballet.
The city is quite small, with the main urban area built on the hillside. Coming out of the train station, you can walk up the hill, or take the metro for two stops to reach Riponne M. Bejart, right in the city center.
In the heart of the city is the Gothic Lausanne Cathedral, built in the 12th century, with the town hall and a viewing platform nearby. When I visited, it was the eve of Christmas, so a Ferris wheel🎡 was temporarily set up in the square, offering a beautiful overview of the city.
There are many small shops behind the cathedral where you can casually eat. The cost of living in Switzerland is quite high, and this area is French-speaking.
If you want to go to the lakeside, take the metro to Ouchy, where you can stroll and relax in the Olympic Park, and the wind by the lake is very strong, so be mindful of keeping warm in winter.
If you have ample time, you can visit the University of Lausanne and the Lausanne Federal Institute of Technology, or take a train to the Cully vineyards.

The Lausanne Cathedral was built in 1275 and is the oldest and most remarkable building in downtown Lausanne. The sculpture outside the church, the interior of the stained glass, tells the story in the Bible, and there are some stories that we are familiar with.
If you travel to Switzerland, Lausanne must be an important stop, and Lausanne Cathedral is a must-see for Lausanne's trip. If you arrive at the church before 4pm, you can also climb the top of the tower, overlooking the beautiful scenery of Lausanne and Lake Geneva.

The Cathed
The Cathedral of Our Lady is the largest church in Switzerland and a symbol of the image of Lausanne. The Cathedral of the Notre Dame, built for the King Rudolph of the Habs family who ruled the Roman Empire, was built in the mid 12th century and took more than 80 years to complete in 1232. At the end of the 13th century, Pope Gregory V used to The bishop was established here, and since the 16th century, it has gradually become a Protestant church.
The overall structure of the church is well preserved and is considered to be the most beautiful and luxurious church in Switzerland. On the main entrance of the church is a statue in the 13th century with the theme of the saint Moses John in the Bible. Although many colors have been mottled, the degree of sophistication is still amazing. Now a glass box has been specially built to protect it.
The interior of the church is solemn, and many of the pillars have medieval paintings. The most famous one is Rose Window, which is 9 meters in diameter. The painting on the window is also based on the cosmic image formed by different seasons and months. As the theme, the mysterious and exquisite, beautiful.
We don't understand the religions of the West, just simply wander around the church and admire the unique architectural design of the church. After I came back, I realized that this church could climb to the bell tower and overlook the entire city of Lausanne. Hanging around in the old town around the church is also a pleasant thing.
