You can take a one-day tour in Lijiang and visit several attractions such as Blue Moon Valley, Glacier Park, Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, etc. There is a Blue Moon Lake in the Blue Moon Valley. The water in the lake is very clear blue. When it is illuminated by the sun, it shimmers like a gemstone, which is quite beautiful. From another angle, you can see the emerald green color. I heard that it is caused by a mineral in the lake water. When the snow on Yulong Snow Mountain melts, it forms the Baishui River. The unpolluted water flows down the valley, first passing through the stepped Baishui Terrace, and then converges into the azure Blue Moon Lake. The stone steps of Baishuitai were uneven due to the erosion of river water. Later, they were repaired by local people, who smoothed the stones and covered them with cement to form the current flat stone steps. There are also several pine tree trunks in the lake, which feels like the Hokkaido Shirogane Blue Pond, very peaceful and comfortable.

In Lijiang, visiting Blue Moon Lake Valley was one of the highlights of my trip.. To visit Blue Moon Valley from Shuhe Ancient Village, Lijiang you can easily arrange a driver through your accommodation. The drive is around 45 minutes. Once you arrive you buy a ticket for 20rmb for the tourist bus that takes you to the scenic area. There is also a 100rmb park entrance fee. Blue Moon Valley is located at the foot of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in Yunnan province, the Blue Moon Valley has four lakes. The turquoise blue water gets its colours from minerals. You can happily spend two hours walking seeing the different lakes and small waterfalls. I went in the afternoon and it was very busy. The Blue Moon Lagoon is just amazing, right under the Yulong Snow Mountain, consist of a few crystal clear lakes that come down fresh from the mountain, there is so many paths and good places to take photos and 3100ft up so you can breathe the fresh mountain air. We absolutely loved exploring it and took about 4 hours to see everything ontop of that you can pay for a cable car to hike up the mountain to see the snow, but you should book that in advance because it sells out fast! There's lots of food and snacks you can buy so don't worry about being hungry and there's lots of people so recommended to go midmorning then you don't feel rushed and have a proper time exploring ! #urbanexplorer#nationalpark#lakes

What a Blue! The most breath taking view of Yulong Mountain is at Lanyue Lake! I never see any super blue rivers here in China but this is the best one! you can see the mountains reflection. So we took the cable car down and instead of taking the tram down to the bottom site, we walked along the walking path next to the Baishui River and it was a definitely a right choice. Walking down the Baishui river, beautiful scenes unfolded in front of us. We saw white yaks, the Baishui (white) terraces and the beautiful Blue Moon Valley against the backdrop of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. No words can describe the beautiful and amazing Chinese painting of blue water and snow- capped mountain in front of us. The long walk was worth it and is just too beautiful an experience to be missed.

I went to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain on March 20. Due to heavy snow and cable car maintenance, the main cable car to Glacier Park and the mid-level cable car to Yak Meadow were closed. Only the small cable car to Spruce Meadow and Blue Moon Valley were open. We went to Spruce Meadow first in the morning, and after taking the cable car down at noon, we took the shuttle bus to Water Moon Pavilion. There are several restaurants at Water Moon Pavilion, offering more choices than at the cable car station, and the prices are not very expensive. Blue Moon Valley is one of the most famous scenic spots in the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain area. Its unique natural scenery and crystal-clear lake water attract countless tourists, and it is known as the "Sapphire at the Foot of the Snow Mountain." Blue Moon Valley is mainly composed of four lakes, each with its own characteristics: Jade Liquid Lake: The lake water is as blue as jade, reflecting the snow-capped mountains, with a wide view. Left our hotel at Shuhe ancient town at 730am to catch a sight of the sunrise en-route to the snow mountain. Headed up the glacier park cable car at 9am and it was a nice fulfilling challenge going up the stairs to reach the peak viewing platform at the high altitude. Headed down in the late morning for the blue moon valley and had a budget lunch buffet at the Snow Kitchen, before rushing off for the 250pm Impression Lijiang show. Found a good for value package on trip.com for the package above (excluding transport from ancient town). The valley is crescent-shaped, and from a distance, it looks like a blue moon embedded at the foot of the snow mountain, hence the name Blue Moon Valley. Blue Moon Valley is divided into four small lakes: Yuye Lake, Jingtan Lake, Lanyue Lake, and Tingtao Lake. They are not on the same level, and the height difference forms waterfalls and streams of various sizes.
