| Quiet vacation! Don't want to leave with my girlfriend!. Chuzhou! Langya Mountain Lodge | Quiet vacation on May Day On May Day, we took the baby back to Hefei. Dad and Aunt picked us up from the airport and drove to Langya Mountain Lodge for an hour and a half. The highway to Chuzhou was completely unobstructed, with very little traffic, which was quite a surprise. Langya Mountain Lodge is near the south gate of Langya Mountain Scenic Area, giving a resort feel. Highly recommended~ The reception is on the left as you enter, and the hotel's restaurant is on the right. The food is good, highly recommended. For accommodation, I recommend the rooms on the second floor, the view is better. The breakfast variety is limited, but the fried rice with eggs and pickles are delicious! There are many insects in the mountains, and there are mosquitoes as big as your palm, which scared me to death. I've seen spiders bigger than my palm in Australia, but this is the first time I've seen mosquitoes this big. However, the staff said these mosquitoes don't bite. Don't leave the hotel, just walk into the mountains to reach the south gate. There is a bus that can take you to the south gate. If you want to go to the north gate, you need to drive. The north gate is very close to Zuiweng Pavilion. You don't need to buy a ticket to enter the north gate of Langya Mountain, the scenic area is free. If you want to see Zuiweng Pavilion, you need to buy a separate ticket outside the pavilion. I visited Langya Mountain in Chuzhou, Anhui on March 2, 2024. The Zuiweng Pavilion in the Langya Mountain scenic area is world-famous because of the 'Record of the Old Drunkard's Pavilion' written by the great Northern Song Dynasty literary figure Ouyang Xiu! The timeless quote~ 'The old drunkard's interest is not in the wine, but in the landscape between the mountains and rivers,' is surely fresh in the memory of every Chinese person. Langya Mountain scenic area is a 5A-level tourist spot, but surprisingly, the main entrance ticket is free, which is truly a pleasant surprise. The area is vast and can be explored for a whole day. Especially when you climb to the top of Langya Pavilion, you can enjoy a 360° view of the entire Chuzhou cityscape. The newly built Langya Pavilion is majestic and impressive. The Zuiweng Pavilion requires a 40 yuan ticket, which is really worth a visit. Besides the Zuiweng Pavilion, there are several other pavilions and city wall towers in the courtyard, all arranged in a clever and exquisite layout. It is worth mentioning that the mountain springs and streams in the Langya Mountain scenic area are the soul of the entire area~ The streams are very clear, running throughout the scenic area, sometimes gathering into pools, sometimes into lakes, and the sound of the water flowing down is like listening to the footsteps of spring. Although the trees have not yet sprouted, with the arrival of spring, the scenery of the area with all the trees turning green must be beautiful. Visiting Langya Mountain requires good physical strength. It is recommended that after entering the scenic area, you can first take the electric tour car~20 yuan per person, directly to the foot of Langya Temple, then start climbing to Langya Terrace, and return the same way. On the way back, visit the Zuiweng Pavilion, which saves more energy. Langya Mountain in Chuzhou is worth a visit.

Zuiweng Pavilion The story of Zuiweng Pavilion is covered in textbooks and is one of the four famous pavilions in China. It was originally built in the seventh year of the Qingli era during the Northern Song Dynasty, named by Ouyang Xiu. It was destroyed in the Jianyan years of the Southern Song Dynasty due to war. Later, the Chuzhou prefect Wei Anxing rebuilt the Zuiweng Pavilion, which was repaired multiple times during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Langya Temple A key national temple, originally established during the Tang Dynasty's Dali era, the temple is vast in scale, and its murals and stone carvings are worth seeing. The Wuliang Hall inside the temple is a national cultural heritage site and is the most intact and oldest building in Langya Mountain. It is named for its construction without wooden beams, using only bricks and stones, which gives it a simple and solid feeling compared to the buildings outside. Stone Inscriptions The cultural attributes of Langya Mountain are significant. Various stone inscriptions can be seen everywhere, some of which are included in the 'First Batch of Famous Ancient Inscriptions and Ming Carvings Cultural Relics List.' The 'Record of the Zuiweng Pavilion' handwritten by Su Shi is a treasure of the Song Dynasty. Tickets: Entry to Langya Mountain is free, but some attractions sell separate tickets. Zuiweng Pavilion is 40 yuan, Tongle Garden is 5 yuan, Langya Ancient Temple is 10 yuan, Nantian Gate is 15 yuan, and a combo ticket is 60 yuan. Tour Route: Mountain Gate - Zuiweng Pavilion - Ouyang Xiu Memorial Hall (Tongle Garden) - Langya Ancient Temple - Nantian Gate (Bixia Palace) Transportation: The scenic area has a shuttle bus that goes directly to Langya Ancient Temple from the entrance, and you can also choose to walk to the back, depending on your physical strength, to take the bus back. The overall journey takes about 2-3 hours. Overall, the visit is highly recommended. From the mountain gate to Nantian Gate, the route is mostly one-way (with a bit of backtracking at Tongle Garden). The uphill road is mostly sloped, with fewer stairs. Langya Ancient Temple and Nantian Gate are more strenuous, but the natural scenery and cultural attributes are excellent, so it is recommended.

Admission to Langya Mountain scenic area is free, and there are 4 attractions inside (Zuiweng Pavilion, Tongle Garden, Langya Temple, Langya Pavilion / South Heaven Gate) with a joint ticket price of 60. You can also buy tickets for individual attractions. The whole journey takes about 3 hours on foot. The forest coverage rate in the scenic area is over 85%, and it is basically a gentle slope on the main road. The last Langya Temple and Langya Pavilion on the top of the mountain have steps. The scenic spot shuttle bus costs 20 for one way and 30 for round trip, and it will stop at each attraction.
