Lake Wanaka in Autumn
#fallishere
Lake Wanaka in Autumn is spectacular.
Wānaka is a beautiful destination in New Zealand's South Island. To fully enjoy it, simply bring a sandwich and sit on the grass by the lake – it's a serene way to appreciate life.
“That Wanaka Tree” is a viral tree 😂 The tree itself is quite busy even in autumn so be prepared to wait for a photo. There are no charges but also no seating near the tree.
The landscape surrounding it seems to make it even more special.
Wanaka is beautiful as an overall.
Half-Day Kayak Tour on Lake Wanaka
The team at Paddle Wanaka are easy to deal with and can cater to your needs whether it be a guided tour or you simply want to do your own thing.
We highly recommend doing The Tiki Tour if you’re keen to do a guided tour and learn about the area.
Depending on the wind direction, you will either paddle from the lakeshore and at the end be picked up by boat, or travel out to your start point by boat and paddle back to the lakeshore. The safety briefing before you set off is very thorough and you’re in safe hands.
Our guide Austin was really knowledgeable and we enjoyed the stories he told us about Bull Island and Ruby Island, he shared several Maori legends with us as well. The information about Lake Wanaka and other lakes and rivers in the region was also interesting.
We had an afternoon tea stop on Ruby Island before heading back to the lakeshore.
The Tiki Tour is definitely worth doing.
Thanks Austin and Chris for a great afternoon on the lake.

This picturesque tree that lives in the wanaka lake in New Zealand is always worth taking a picture of!
Relative to the prosperity of Queenstown, I prefer Wanaka's peace and quiet.
It is hidden between Lake Wanaka and Lake Hawea and the Southern Alps. It is a dream town like a paradise.
Walking in the windy and sunny days, strolling along the pebble beach, listening to the lake's sloppy, deciduous sand, even doing nothing, looking at the lonely tree in a daze, is a pleasant thing.
Wanaka is the place I have been most obsessed with, because in addition to completely letting go of my own self, listening to the voice of my heart, I also understand that doing nothing can be so justified, people can not help but be drunk in time.
Lake Wanaka
Lake Wanaka is the fourth largest lake in New Zealand, nestled at the foot of the Southern Alps and carved by glaciers. The most unique feature of Lake Wanaka is the Lone Willow in the lake, as shown in picture 10, which I took, while the last two pictures were taken by netizens. Its fame seems to surpass that of Lake Wanaka itself, being the most photographed tree in New Zealand. According to locals, this tree has survived for nearly a hundred years, standing alone in the middle of the lake, becoming an eternal part of the landscape.
🌸 cherry blossoms in Wanaka 🌸
#cherryblossom2024 🌸
Lake Wānaka is New Zealand's fourth-largest lake and located in the town of Wānaka. Is nice to stroll around the lake. There are shops along the road where you can get a coffee and enjoy beside the lake. Besides that, there are a range of outdoor activities in Wanaka like hiking, skiing, and water sports such as kayaking and paddleboarding.

▫️ The Lone Tree - no amount of photos compares to experiencing it in person. Trust me, you have to walk under the tree and have your family take pictures from a distance. It's so romantic🌳
▫️ Feeding seagulls - there are many seagulls by the lake that are not afraid of people. Just prepare some bread🍞
▫️ Take a walk along the lake - the beauty here is part of everyday life. Enjoy the tranquil moments🚶
❷ Aspiring National Park and Roy's Peak Track
▫️ Blue Pools Track: The whole journey is 1.5 km, with an approximate playtime of 1 hour
▫️ Rob Roy Glacier Track: The whole journey is 10 km, with an approximate playtime of 4 hours
➌ Skiing
From June to October each year, Wanaka is a tourist destination for ski enthusiasts. The largest ski field on the South Island is Treble Cone, and Cardrona Alpine Resort is open all year round, offering skiing in winter as well⛷️

A cute colorful house maze world. See if you can find your way out. The playtime is about 1 hour🌈
➎ Wanaka Lavender Farm
Open all year round. From September to May each year, the farm turns into a purple paradise. It's close to the maze world, so you can visit both places🦙
——
🎈Where to stay❓
Recommended: Lake Side Apartments. The rooms are spacious, and it's a 5-10 minute walk to the Lone Tree. The apartments come with a swimming pool, and there's a children's playground across the street🎠
——
🎈What to eat❓
❶ Francesca's Italian Kitchen Wanaka - Italian food, pizza🍕 fries🍟 pasta🍝. It's very popular and requires a reservation in advance. Being late might result in cancellation.
❷ Patagonia Chocolates - local New Zealand ice cream🍦
➌ Ding Point 168 - Chinese cuisine, Cantonese dishes, tastes pretty good.
➍ Newworld Supermarket - visit the local supermarket, cook a meal yourself, it feels quite different.

The Hungry Explorer s Odyssey Beautiful Lake Wanaka
Lake Wanaka is geographically located in the Otago region of the South Island, a glacially formed lake, and is the fourth largest lake in New Zealand. It is especially beautiful under the sunset! Even if you do nothing by the lakeside, just sitting quietly and zoning out can make you feel incredibly relaxed and at ease. Perhaps this is the magical power bestowed by the beauty of nature.
I love the small town under the Alps more than Queenstown
When it comes to New Zealand, everyone thinks of Queenstown🛖 first
But when you start a self-driving tour of the South Island, you will find
The scenery of the small towns along the way is invaluable
Wanaka is a must-visit small town🏡 for self-driving in New Zealand
It's very small with only 5000+ people, but it's my favorite place!
Actually, Lake Wanaka is very close to Queenstown
It's a 1.5h drive back and forth, and the town and lake of Wanaka under the surrounding peaks
Has the adventurous atmosphere of Queenstown
And a bit of extra leisurely atmosphere
There is a TV show called 'The Free Range Cook'
It's about the legendary New Zealand chef queen Langbein
She turned her life into a poem on the shore of Lake Wanaka
Living an enviable lakeside pastoral life
Because it's not big, I've organized the following ways to play around Lake Wanaka
1、 The Lonely Tree
A lonely tree growing in Lake Wanaka
The background is Lake Wanaka and the Southern Alps
Lake Wanaka is really very quiet, the 4th largest lake in New Zealand
The majestic mountains surround Lake Wanaka so purely quiet
2、 The history under the town
Wanaka town only has 1 main road along the lake called Ardmore street
The important historical events of New Zealand are recorded on the trail along the lake
One brick represents one year, try to find the year you were born
3、 Puzzling World
Indoor and outdoor, very suitable for parent-child travel!
A small amusement park that displays mathematics and space technology
There are many special visual effects caused by misplaced space
4、 Bra Fence
Must pass this place on the way from Wanaka to Queenstown
The fence is covered with tens of thousands of women's bras
Originally it was just a whim of 4 women in 1999
Hang their own bras on the wire fence by the road
Later, many people saw it and went to hang it
So there are more and more bras, forming the current bra wall
5、 Arrowtown
There is also a former gold mining town nearby
The main street is Buckingham St
Here is the smallest museum in New Zealand
And it is said to be the oldest post office in New Zealand
Opened in 1863 and still in business
This is also one of the filming locations of 'The Lord of the Rings'
From here, it's only 21 kilometers to Queenstown
If you come to New Zealand, please spend an extra day in Wanaka
Although it's not big, it's very satisfying just to walk by the lake and feed the ducks
Travel tips:
Wanaka town only has 1 main road along the lake called Ardmore street
Restaurants, grocery stores, outdoor/wool shops are all here
The hotel room we stayed in can see Lake Wanaka
The unchanged Chinese taste can also find a Chinese supermarket here
In addition to the necessary Lao Gan Ma abroad, even snail powder is available
We all buy our own ingredients and seasonings and go back to the hotel to make hot pot
And the Manuka honey that must be bought when coming to New Zealand is even cheaper here
Lake Wanaka
Lake Wanaka is located in the center of the southern lake district and is the gateway to Aspiring Mountain National Park and Te Wahipounamu World Heritage Area. Surrounded by mountains and dotted with high mountains and deep lakes, it is recognized as one of the most beautiful areas in New Zealand and a pleasant resort for all seasons. The loneliest tree in the world is in Lake Wanaka, New Zealand, quietly floating in the water. This lonely tree, for a lake, gave up the entire forest, accompanied by Lake Wanaka and the Southern Alps.
Walk along the lake to find the most famous and most photographed lone tree in the lake. The green lone tree is reflected on the calm lake surface, and the background is Lake Wanaka and the Southern Alps, which is also a sign of life. It is said that in autumn, surrounded by fallen leaves in the wind, sitting by the lake and enjoying the beautiful scenery is very comfortable.
A lonely tree growing in Lake Wanaka, New Zealand photographer Dennis Rademacher's 2014 shot of the tree, won the best landscape photo of the year in New Zealand, and the lonely tree became famous for this. It is recommended to choose different times to shoot, such as night, morning, morning, the scenery seen at different times is completely different.
Wanaka flies: In fact, there are quite a few places to fly in New Zealand, but most people will choose to fly in Wanaka. Wanaka is very quiet and the pace is leisurely, it is a very suitable place for vacation. Driving a plane here, flying over Lake Wanaka, flying over the Southern Alps, the scenery is first-rate. It is recommended to book a flight at least 2 days in advance, and it is best to book a few days in advance during the peak season. When flying in Wanaka, there are real old drivers with you, no experience is needed. There are two sets of control systems on the plane, and the coach will take over the control in any situation, or if you don't want to fly.
Address: Wanaka 9305Otago (near Luggate Highway)

Lake Wanaka autumn colours
#fallishere
Wanaka is a great place to visit and the scenery around it is breathtaking!
Every season the place looks different, Autumn is my favourite!!
On the shore of Lake Wanaka, you can sit on the lawn by the lake, enjoy the reflection of the lake, listen to the chirping of birds, and feel the tranquility of nature.
We had some great walks around Lake Wanaka, allowing us to get up close and personal with stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. We waked along the lakeside trails to enjoy the perfect combination of lake and mountains.
The board is pretty and an easy walk. The has good playground for kids.
There are picnic tables, beautiful clear water, amazing scenery and plenty of room to park.
April go to New Zealand.
Actually, our life is like a journey. It's not about the destination, but the scenery along the way and the mood of enjoying the scenery. Let your soul travel!
April, we in the northern hemisphere are busy chasing spring, while in New Zealand in the southern hemisphere, the rich green fades away and is replaced by golden autumn attire~
If God created the four seasons because He saw the joy and sorrow of the Earth, then in New Zealand's southern hemisphere, every April, God seems to have favored it with a lot of happiness!
In April, New Zealand will enter its most beautiful and dazzling season~
New Zealand is located in the southern hemisphere, so March, April, and May are defined as autumn months;
New Zealand has a very high vegetation coverage, with a wide variety of plant species. In autumn, many deciduous plants put on light green, light yellow, golden, orange, deep red, and even purple autumn clothes.
In New Zealand, there is no such thing as "photo cheating", and even professional cameras or Photoshop are not necessary. With just a phone, you can take stunning photos that will amaze your friends.
In autumn, when you come to New Zealand, you must visit Arrowtown. Starting from Queenstown and heading north, Arrowtown is famous for its golden autumn. In late autumn, the mountains are covered with fiery red leaves, which are extremely splendid.
Every year in April and May, the leaves of deciduous trees become colorful and brilliant. In the tranquil small town, there are high-end wineries, delicious specialty restaurants, coffee shops, and art salons. The local area also holds an "Autumn Carnival"!
In autumn, walking in the town, you can see colorful leaves, like a poem and a painting.
If Arrowtown is a dreamy fairy tale world, then Queenstown can be said to be a well-deserved paradise on earth.
In Queenstown in April, towering poplar trees line the road, their leaves of bright red and golden yellow creating a colorful scene like a beautiful oil painting by Monet. The colors are gorgeous, the atmosphere peaceful and serene, and no amount of fancy words can fully describe its beauty.
The scenery of Wanaka Lake in autumn is like a beautiful oil painting.
The best time to see the autumn colors in Wanaka is late April. That Wanaka Tree and the tree park behind it are typical spots. At sunrise and sunset, the lakeside is crowded with all kinds of tripods and long lenses, and the bustling crowds make the waves of Lake Wanaka restless.
The town of Gretna Green in heaven is one of the filming locations of "The Lord of the Rings" and a place not to be missed for autumn colors. Here, you will feel like you are in a fairy tale.
Here is the open Dat River Beach. There are no human traces, only blue sky, mountains, forests and flowing water. Everything is primitive, as if time and space have crossed, and you have come to the scenes of movies like "The Lord of the Rings", immersed in medieval scenes.
From April to May is the season with the purest sky in New Zealand. You will see stars shining like crystal in the dark night sky, sparkling and clear. It feels like heaven is within reach.
From Tikapo to Lake Pukaki, to Tekapo and Omarama, this area is called the Mackenzie region, and the most famous of course is the "Star Town" Tikapo. Many golden autumn trees on the shore of Lake Tikapo are reflected in the lake, dyeing the water and sky golden.
Without the hustle and bustle of big cities, the garden city of Christchurch, adorned with cultural atmosphere and autumn mood, will be the best destination for your trip.
Christchurch's Hagley Park boasts a multitude of colorful trees in autumn, from yellow and orange to red and even purple, which is truly breathtaking!
God must have bestowed special favor upon New Zealand, always receiving the best gifts from nature.
This April, going to New Zealand, be "careful"~ Once you're not careful, you'll fall in love with it and not want to come back!!!
The lone tree of Lake Wanaka
Known as the “lone tree of Lake Wānaka,” it is said to be one of the most photographed trees in #2023travelwish #awesomepic New Zealand. However, you still need to have the inside scoop to find it, as there are no signs directing people to the solitary tree. It’s just enough off of the beaten path to not be bothered by too many tourists unless they’ve done their research.
Walking along the lake to find the lone tree is a beautiful sight. When you arrive, you’ll find beach access on the shore just a stone’s throw away from the tree, the perfect place to have a picnic and watch the sun set or rise. If you can stand the cold but refreshing water of Lake Wānaka, swimming is a great way to awaken the senses.
The lone tree is right at the foothills of Mount Aspiring National Park, a World Heritage Site, acting as a doorway into even more of the breathtaking landscapes that embody the South Island of New Zealand. Try visiting when the sun is low on the horizon and there’s an abundance of colorful low light, rather than the view being bleached out by the midday sun. At this time of day you’re also more likely to find the lone tree of Lake Wānaka, all alone. Anytime of the day visit you will have different picturesque views at the back of the tree, especially during the sun rises and sets.

Fabulous lake with everything around it to make your stay memorable.
Great shops and cafes right across the road and everything seems to revolve around the lake itself. Nice areas for sunbathing. #wintergetaway

[Face Travels] New Zealand super hard nuclear attractions - need to climb a whole mountain Roys Peak
autumn Wanaka, whether it is the flying saucer cloud I love in the sky, or the vast scenery, never let me down!
To make up for the last regret, this time decided to go to Roys Peak, here I have to say that Roys Peak is really a hardcore attraction! From the bottom, I climbed hard for three or four hours to the top of the mountain of more than 1,500 meters. In order to take a photo, I had to queue for half an hour in the cold wind, and then I spent two and a half hours down the mountain... My knee protested. Many times, I also returned to the ridge frog for a long time... If you are in my big sky, I have already repaired the cableway and collected 100 ropeway fees! Foreigners are so business-minded! [Goodbye]
In addition, from Wanaka to Arrow Town, pass a fruit town - jackson orchards ~ autumn is beautiful!
New Zealand | One of the most beautiful driving routes in the world to win the lonely tree
This road is known as one of the top 10 most beautiful driving routes in the world. It travels between the magnificent Tasman coast and the rolling hills, sometimes Seascapes, sometimes mountain views, and the lakes and plains of the lake, are endlessly beautiful. In the middle will pass the town of Haast Haast, suitable for rest and eating. This section of the road, as long as you want, as long as you want, you can stop at any time, because the scenery is everywhere.
This is the most beautiful driving route, buried with countless amazing spots. If you experience it slowly, I guess I can go on for three days. Various lakes, parks, waterfalls, forests, and water curtain caves are inextricably linked. If you want to hurry, you really want to see too much. Every place that can be turned into is a secret.
In the Lake District surrounded by the peaks of the Southern Alps
South Island's Lake District, Wanaka is like a sly girl, hiding her beauty in Lake Tipka and the Southern Alps Between, waiting for the curious visitors to discover her.
I want to be a tree in the future, stand alone in solitude.
Wanaka doesn't have the beauty that you must make a special trip to, so its lakes and mountains can quietly make a background, setting off the leisurely lazy afternoon.
The pier is definitely not to be missed in Wanaka. From early morning to evening, it is also the most popular place. Adjacent to Wanaka Main Street, a road from isite is the pier. The
Wanaka Lake project is much less than Queenstown, and the terminal is more a place for locals to relax.
very early in the morning, on the wooden tables and chairs along the pier, the passengers who drive the simple RVs set up the stove to make breakfast, and the fresh air is the best health care product to mobilize the appetite.
At sunset, the atmosphere at the lake is more relaxed. Playing tired and resting, taking a picnic with a beer fries, taking off the red strips on the trestle, and encountering a pianist similar to the wandering artist in Queenstown, playing the homemade piano in the lake.
Finger touches the keys, the crisp piano sounds on the quiet lake, the golden sun, the lazy people and the gentle atmosphere.
The beauty in front of you is not only given by nature, but also by people who appreciate nature.
Everyone who came to Wanaka knew that Wanaka had a lonely tree lying in the southwest corner of the lake. In the summer, the lake flows over the roots of the tree, and the twisted branches of the tree extend out of the water and reach the sky. This unusual scene has also attracted visitors from all over the world.
I was in the early morning of the New Year. I walked alone from the pier for half an hour and walked to the lonely tree. There was no tourist, only the locals who occasionally ran in the morning. Next to the lonely tree, there is a small sign, I don't know if you noticed it. The map above
marks a few places worth taking photos around Wanaka. A lonely tree is one of them. I will punch the cards one by one and show them to everyone. The beauty of Wanaka and the location suitable for taking pictures are clearly marked on this government-established brand.
Wanaka Pier is photographed No1, and the lonely tree is No2.
From the flight school, we decided to go to Wanaka for a turn. It is said that the small town of Wanaka is much quieter than Queenstown, but compared with Lake Hawea, it is still noisy. In clear weather, the lake is clear and the snowy mountains behind it are clearly visible! Tourists and local residents are walking, walking dogs and carrying baby. The weather in my jacket, New Zealand's little babies only wear a diaper, and the gap between the races is great.
Sitting at the lakeside, breezy, looking at the clouds and clouds, the snow-capped mountains are still moving, I like and yearn for a laid-back lifestyle, where people are going on vacation every day.
Lake Wanaka. It is a lake formed by the melting of glaciers more than 10,000 years ago and is the fourth largest lake in New Zealand.
Here is inaccessible since ancient times, and indigenous Maori people only occasionally pass by. In 1853, the first European came to Lake Wanaka, but it was not until 1863 that there was a fixed inhabitant here, where they were grazing sheep.
The tourism industry here began in 1867. That year, the first hotel was built in the town of Wanaka, south of Lake Wanaka. Today's Wanaka area is already a famous tourist destination. People come here to ski in winter and spend the summer here. It also hosted a number of film and television crews including The Lord of the Rings to film the scene.
Many towns in New Zealand are built along the lake. The town is small. Supermarket restaurants are in the center of the town. Across the road is Lake Wanaka, where people chat, drink and camp.
The famous Lake Wanaka is in the park. Unlike the Jinghu Park, there is some gloom in the quiet. In the middle of the lake is the famous Wanaka tree. He grows alone in the middle of the lake. Everything here is like a silhouette of a painting, some dark mountain lakes, a tree standing in the lake, a lonely person sitting on the shore, everything is a silhouette of time, people are not thinking Maybe every person in the world is alone, and they have to be lonely. The lonely Wanaka tree, and the calm waters of the lake, a natural observation deck, like God's perspective, overlooking the wonderland of the world, looking at everything in front of the mountain, despite a few days, but still unbelievable silence Beauty, the sight in front of you allows you to reflect on yourself and me. The trees in the lake stand in the lake. There are no branches and leaves, and there is no dependence. They stand alone in the lake. The scenery in New Zealand is such a magic. You can feel the peace of life. I can experience the silence of loneliness, feel the side and the other side of the Alps, the wind on the mountain, the person's thread is clearer, as if everyone who came here is examining his life, lonely, his own The heart is as quiet and mysterious as this lake. Lonely is the most people should feel. Only lonely people can experience the feeling of Wanaka tree.
The most amazing part of New Zealand's South Island is the one that is popular with everyone. It is the Lake Wanaka to Lake Javea.
Wear the Haast channel, we will learn the unique charm of this road. Lake Wanaka has not yet been appreciated, and a turn of Harvey Lake has appeared in front of you. The two lakes are connected together. This way, we are all "wow". The
viewpoint is named The Neck, which is a very beautiful image. The narrow mountain road connecting the two scenic spots of Lake Wanaka and Lake Javea is the best place to look at the blue lake.
In New Zealand, the lake must be ascended. On the peak of Wanaka Lake, the most spectacular view of Lake Waka Lake, the most beautiful on the skyline of Lake Wakatipu, the most flirtatious Lake Lake in Lake Cabo on the Mount John, the most shocking of Wanaka and Javier in the neck.
You can see the magnificent scenery of Wanaka on the shores of Lake Wanaka. There are many activities on the lake and on the lake. You can lie here and enjoy the sun, or participate in sports and water fun activities. Wanaka is a unique place that is vibrant and sporty. Cycling, water skiing, surfing, hiking, running, motocross, winter skiing, or just taking a walk around the beautiful lake... you can try it out.
Wanaka, located in the Lake Wanaka area of the South Island of New Zealand. There are a lot of cafes, restaurants and fun shops here. It is clear that the Wanaka area loves aviation. At the airport, you can arrange sightseeing flights or skydiving. The town hosts a spectacular flight show every two years, featuring classic military aircraft. In addition, a willow tree in Wanaka has attracted a lot of photographers because of its long shape in the water, and is famous for its local photographer Hiroshi Ishihara named "Lonely Willow Tree". one.
The town center facing Lake Wanaka looked dull during the day, but there was some dreamy blur at night, but the store was closed too early, the day was still dark, and the business stopped. After the store closed, the lights were still on, and the depression was warm. Walking along the lake, there is a tree very famous. The map is called wanaka tree, a little far from the town center, and it takes twenty minutes to walk. It grows in the lake, the figure is graceful, the photographers have taken very amazing pictures, but the actual visual effect is more common, and the scenery such as Lijiang Lashihai is everywhere. However, since it is a local scene, it is always going to have a look.
In addition to the beautiful scenery, the town of Wanaka in the South Island of New Zealand is more attractive for all kinds of high-altitude adventure sports here. Many people come here not for sightseeing, but for flying.
Wanaka Airport was once the base for training fighter pilots during World War II and is now the base for high-altitude adventure sports. There are several flight companies in this small airport for you to choose from, but I recommend this company called learn to fly. Because other companies take off and land must be controlled by the instructor, but this company may be a big heart, take off and land all to give me control. That blonde is my faculty.
From Hasst to Wanaka, it is the most beautiful part of the journey, driving through two lakes Lake Wanaka and Lake Hawea. Basically, they all go along the lakeside, and the lakes and mountains are all beautiful.
Since the glacial movement 10,000 years ago, Lake Wanaka and Lake Hawea have been formed. The two lakes are adjacent and there is only one place called The Neck Java to separate them. The Neck is only 1000 meters wide and the glaciers are divided into two. Lake Wanaka is the source of the Clutha, New Zealand's largest river. Lake Hawea flows into the Hawea River and meets the Clutha River in Albert Town.
First pass through Lake Wanaka, and then go a little further to the neck. In fact, when driving, you can't see two lakes at the same time. Instead, Lake Wanaka will be followed by Lake Hawea. When we turned a corner, Lake Hawea suddenly appeared in front of us, and we all made a wow sound.
