Natural scenery
Lake Tazawa is located in Senbei City, Akita Prefecture, Japan. It is the deepest lake in Japan and the 17th deepest lake in the world. The lake is surrounded by green hills, and the glass-colored lake is very clear. Tourists can either take a bus tour around the lake or take a boat cruise. Lake Tazawa Swiss Village is a theme park with a Swiss town style, which is also the location of the Korean drama "IRIS". Throughout the year, Tazawa Lake has different colors, especially in autumn, when the mountains and red leaves are intertwined into a charming scene against the clear lake water. In addition, there are many maple viewing spots around Lake Tazawa, no matter from a distance or a close view, it is full of people to linger.

Come to Akita in person and see the Akita dog in person🐕
Akita, located about 450 km north of Tokyo on the Sea of Japan
It is the sixth largest prefecture in Japan, with forests all over the territory and rich natural resources.
The unique and excellent terroir has produced high-quality agricultural products, with rice production ranking first in the Tohoku region and sold well throughout Japan.
In addition to the abundant agricultural products that make the locals proud, when talking about Akita, many people may also think of the cute-looking "Akita Dog".
As the name suggests, the Akita Inu comes from Akita. It is a mountain hunting dog called "Akita Mataki" (pronounced: matagi) (winter hunter), which was bred with local dogs in the Akita area during the 16th century. It was originally provided as a reward for the purpose of boosting the morale of the samurai.
Because they were originally distributed in the Odate area in northern Akita, they are called "Odate Dogs".
I was lucky enough to meet a super cute Akita dog on the last morning of my trip to Akita.

Akita Prefecture Energy Spot, Japan's Deepest Lake: Lake Tazawa
#2024Travel Review
Lake Tazawa, a well-known natural attraction in Akita Prefecture, Japan, is not as big as Lake Towada, but it is the deepest lake in Japan with a water depth of 423.4 meters. The lake surface changes with the light and shadow, sometimes green and sometimes blue. It is quite beautiful and very suitable for therapy. The more short it becomes.
Driving from Morioka to Tazawa Lake, the journey is not far and the scenery along the way is beautiful. There is less development around Tazawa Lake and it is more natural. People often ride bicycles around the lake, or float on the water with a stand-up paddle. Either way is a good choice to experience Tazawa Lake.
In addition to being a power spot of nature, Lake Tazawa also has a driftwood shrine that prays for love and a statue of Tatsuko in the lake. There is also a poignant love story behind it, which adds a bit of fantasy to Lake Tazawa.

Winter trip to Tazawa Lake~A must-see scenery in Akita. Tazawa Lake Tour Bus. The snow-white mountain scenery is like in a postcard.
After about 10 minutes, we arrived at the second attraction, Gozano Stone.
The driver will also tell you the boarding time when you get off the bus. This stop only has 10 minutes, so fast!
This station is mainly about the Gozaishi Shrine. After getting off the bus, walk forward and you will see the torii gate.
But this road is really beautiful. I couldn’t help but stop and take a photo.
And of course you have to take a picture of the most important Gozaishi Shrine here, the torii gate.
The red torii gate, the blue sky and the wild scenery. The whole scene is so touching that it’s unreal.
This unique tree is right next to the torii gate
There is only one tree trunk but there are actually 7 kinds of plants growing on it. It’s super cool. I believe you can see something special even more in spring and summer.

Tazawako Station is so beautiful with the snow! !
There are several ways to get to Tazawako by public transportation, and we chose the most convenient Shinkansen.
Take the red Akita Shinkansen and you can directly transfer to the Tazawako Lake Tour Bus at the station.
The platform at Tazawako Station is even more sunny. It doesn't look like a Shinkansen platform at all. The whole expanse of white snow is really beautiful!
It actually takes about 10 minutes to get there from Kakunodate Station. I suggest you come back from a far distance.
You can even see the sunset if you plan to go to Tazawako in the afternoon.
There are also many tourist information available here. If you need tourist information, you can get a lot of information here!

This is somewhere near Lake Tazawa, Semboku, Akita Prefecture. Sorry, I don’t know the exact location as this was a random stop along the drive around Lake Tazawa. >.< The sunflowers are so pretty! You can see the view of the lake and mountains in the background too! It was my first time seeing real sunflowers! Who would’ve known that there is a random sunflower plantation along the roadside?

Lake Tazawa
Lake Tazawa (田沢湖, Tazawako) is a lake located in Akita Prefecture, Japan. This is a natural lake that is famous for its great depth, reaching around 423 meters, making it the deepest lake in Japan. Some interesting things about Lake Tazawa. Lake Tazawa is surrounded by mountains, creating a beautiful view. The clear water is turquoise and very attractive, especially when viewed from a high point or at sunset. This lake is related to a local legend that tells of a girl named Tatsuko, who turned into a dragon because of her desire to become more beautiful. This legend inspired the creation of a statue of Tatsuko by the lake.

Surrounded by a rich forest, "Lake Tazawa" is the deepest lake in Japan. It is surrounded by a mysterious atmosphere of transparent and deep-coloured water.

A view of the deepest lake in Japan
Let's look at the deepest lake in Japan
Lake Tazawa💙
Akita Prefecture, Tohoku Region
.
Lake Tazawa (田沢湖) is a still lake with
the deepest depth in Japan at 423.4m. It is also
dubbed as a blue sea like lapis lazuli.
Let me tell you that the water is very clear. It is a tourist attraction that few Thais
have visited.
And there is also a beautiful and peaceful view that ranks among the top in the hearts of Japanese people.
.
You can visit here in all 4 seasons. It is only 2 hours from Akita City. My sister recommends that
If you want to see the view during a time that is pleasing to the eyes, I recommend
late summer, beginning of autumn and winter.
But if you want a different view with bright colors, I recommend
coming to see it during
autumn. Anyone who likes to travel indie
and wants to heal in the middle of nature, don't miss it.

Land of Timeless Traditions and Natural Wonders
#traveldiaries #japan #japantrip #akita
For nature lovers, Akita offers stunning landscapes, from the serene beauty of Lake Tazawa, Japan’s deepest lake, to the rustic mountain views of the Oga Peninsula, famous for its Namahage folklore. Akita’s rural setting allows visitors to experience the slower pace of traditional Japanese life, far from the hustle of urban centers. In winter, Akita’s hot springs (onsen), nestled in snow-covered mountains, offer a peaceful retreat.
What I find particularly compelling about Akita is its combination of cultural depth and natural beauty. It’s a place where visitors can immerse themselves in history, folklore, and local traditions while enjoying the serene and untouched landscapes. Akita is perfect for those seeking a deeper connection to Japan’s rural and cultural heritage.

Tazawa Lake in Tohoku, Japan: One of Japan's Top 100 Scenic Spots and the Deepest Lake
Located in Akita Prefecture, Tohoku, Japan, Tazawa Lake is one of Japan's top 100 scenic spots and the deepest lake in the country. Fortunately, the weather was great on the day of our visit, with blue skies and white clouds reflecting on the clear lake, creating a picturesque scene.
In front of the lake stands a golden statue of a woman named Tatsuko. According to legend, a girl named Tatsuko wished to retain her beauty forever but eventually transformed into a dragon and leaped into Tazawa Lake, becoming the lake's deity. In honor of this legend, a statue of Tatsuko was erected by the lake. Nearby, there is a small wooden shrine called Ukiki Shrine, known for blessing good relationships.
Close to the lake, there is a shop selling Akita Prefecture's specialties and region-exclusive products, making it a great place to shop after touring the lake.

Lake tazawa akita deepest lake in japan
The deepest lake in Japan, located in Akita City
It is a lake formed by a volcanic eruption, 400 meters deep
The lake is very beautiful. The day I went, it was a deep blue color, very beautiful
The color of the water changes with the season
The lake is surrounded by snowy mountains, a very beautiful view
The landmark here is the golden statue of a woman named Tatsuko, a beautiful woman who prayed to the gods that her beauty would not fade with time. She drank water from Lake Tazawa and became a dragon, guarding the lake. Later, she fell in love with a young dragon from Lake Tawada (a nearby lake). Every winter, the young dragon would come to her and make Lake Tawada freeze, but Lake Tazawa did not freeze because of the warmth of their love.
There is a boat to cruise around the lake, priced at 1400 yen
But we didn't go on the boat. Walking around the lake was also very beautiful.
There is a shrine for love, a restaurant to sit and eat, and a souvenir shop. There weren't many people.
Park your car at the souvenir shop.

The deepest lake of Japan

#helloautumn
It is the deepest lake in Japan, with a depth of 423.4 meters. The surface of the lake changes from brilliant lapis lazuli to azure to indigo and is worth seeing. Take a cruise on a sightseeing boat, or take a paddle boat, canoe, kayak, SUP to enjoy the waters of the lake. It is also worth cycling, trekking, or driving along the lakeside to see the colors change across the lake. For those who want to stay longer, set up camp and see the changes with the time of day.
Located just south of Towada-Hachimantai National Park, Lake Tazawa (田沢湖, Tazawako) is a scenic caldera lake that has not been overly developed and retains a natural and rustic atmosphere. The lake is often visited in conjunction with nearby sites like Nyuto Onsen or Mount Akita-Komagatake, which also offer rustic scenes that are typical of the Tohoku Region.

Lake Tazawa
I stayed at a hot spring hotel near Taze Lake. Although it wasn’t very fancy, the room was quite big with a hot spring. It cost more than NT$3,000 a night. It was not bad. I took the hotel shuttle bus to Taze Lake early in the morning and waited for the bus around the lake. When I arrived at a certain The driver of the scenic spot will let the passengers get off the car to take pictures. The water of Taze Lake is very clear and beautiful! My husband likes it very much~

The Tazawa
The Tazawa Lake in Akita Prefecture is the deepest lake in Japan, with a water depth of more than 400 meters. The symbol here is a bronze-painted gold-painted statue of Chen Zi, from the legend of Chen Zi Ji. It seems to be a cloudy day, but I think it should be like this. There is also a small driftwood shrine on the lakeside. You can take a boat trip around the lake, or take a bike for two or three hours around the lake.
At the Tazawa Lake, I ate the rice bowl Udon noodles and the gossip pork shabu-shabu in Akita Prefecture. Put the vegetables in the pan, then the pork can be eaten for a few seconds. Udon noodles are soft and smooth, like ~~

Tazawako is a famous sightseeing spot in Akita, Japan. It is located in Semboku City, Akita Prefecture, northeastern Japan. It is the deepest lake in Japan and is 249 meters above sea level.
Interesting is the water surface of Tazawa Lake. As the light and angle change, the lake will change from emerald to dark blue. If you don't see it with your own eyes, it's hard to believe that there is such a clear and clear blue lake in the world. The scenery in front of you is really like the tourist postcards that are a little exaggerated.
The edge of the shoal of Tazawa Lake is erected with a golden "Chenzi", which is said to be made to commemorate a girl named "Chen Zi". In order to get the beauty that never fades, the child turns into a dragon year. Guarding the Tazawa Lake. The mountains of Tazawa Lake are beautiful in shape and have different colors throughout the year. The bronze statue of this girl who guards the Tazawa Lake all the year round is a symbol of Tazawa Lake. When you arrive, remember to take pictures and take pictures.
