#Lake Kussharo Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Seeing the Swan
Chu Lulu Lake on the shore of the Kussharo Lake is the largest lake in the Akanmo Week National Park. There are several hot springs on the southeast side that can be bathed. In winter, the lake will freeze, but because there are hot springs in the ground, some of the high-heated ice melts, and four to five hundred swans inhabit each year.
First come to the sand soup. There is a hot spring pouring out of the sand at the lakeside. If you are interested, you can dig a pool to make an open-air hot spring. Although the weather was good, the wind blew very cold, and almost thought that the swan would not be able to skip this place, and it was hiding on the other side. The nearby store can buy salt-free popcorn to feed the swan.
Then go to Gome Hot Springs. This open-air hot spring facing the Kussha Lake has been cleaned regularly by locals. The dressing room is divided into men and women. The pool is one, with a rock partition in the middle. You can wear a towel or bathrobe to soak. Looking at the scenery of the distant mountains is very beautiful, the swan is swimming around, but the winter is too cold, quickly pat the swan, wrap the clothes on the body, no courage to make hot springs.
Lake Kussharo is pretty and relatively untouristed. The white swan on the lake was not seen at all, because it was integrated with the snow. Until come to shore of lake, the swan appeared in droves.
The Lake of Kussharo in winter has a pure beauty. The snow covered the hues of the surrounding mountains, the lake was frozen, and only ink was left between the heavens and the earth. As the second largest crater lake in the world, the rich geothermal heat has distributed many hot springs along the lake. It is the warmth of this ice that attracts more than 500 swan to spend the winter here.
We came to the hot springs at the lake at 6 am. The rolling snow-capped mountains have not yet awakened, and the white water vapor is floating on the narrow lake without ice. The whole world presents an attractive blue. A big swan didn't know what time it had already flown here, swimming, fake, and the orange-colored mouth was cut through the mist. There is a feeling of loneliness and sorrow between the heavens and the earth.
When the third swan appeared, the sun had already passed through the entire Kussha Lake, and the big swans flew in groups from the jungle across the lake. They are flying almost on the frozen lake, bending and hovering as they approach the hot springs, and slashing the tranquility of the Kussharo Lake in an elegant posture. You can buy popcorn that the big swan loves in the visitor center. When they get the "maximum reward", they will flap their wings and play, sing high songs and soar above the snowy peaks under the blue sky as a reward for people.
The most enjoyable is the dusk on the lakeside. The visitors are far away and there is no flaw. Sitting in the open-air Gudan Hot Springs, wearing a bath towel, facing the rolling snow-capped mountains, guarding the gentle sunset, drinking pure sake, watching the sky being dyed into blush, the last big swan reluctantly came ashore, started, Flying, screaming, and plunging into the last evening of the other side.
