Great area with spectacular views of Mt Fuji. We came in early Novenber and although there was cold on the ground the temperature was very comfortable to walk around and explore. The views around the lake were simply breathtaking and I highly recommend taking a “pirate” cruise across to Hakone- and take the gondola up. #2024TravelReview One of the most famous attractions in Hakone is to board the Hakone Pirate Sightseeing Ship to cross Lake Ashi. The ship is painted in the bright and eye-catching One Piece style. After getting off at Taoyuantai Cable Car Station, you can quickly reach the pirate ship ticket office and the gorgeous pier. As the boat slowly left the port, our eyes were immediately attracted by the vast Lake Ashi. The lake was as calm as a mirror. Although the weather was not good that day, the boat provided comfortable seats and viewing areas, where one could quietly enjoy the tranquil lake. About 30 minutes later, we arrived at Moto-Hakone Port. This is a picturesque town. Tourists can get off the boat here to find the nearby torii gates in the water or shopping streets, or take a bus to other attractions to continue their exploration.
