Tibet | Sharing of full trekking photos in the Laigu Glacier Scenic Area 2 - Inside the scenic area
🚗 Laigu Glacier is a group of glaciers located in Ranwu Town, Basu County, Changdu, Tibet, adjacent to Ranwu Lake, which is the source of Parlung Zangbo. The melted snow flows into Ranwu Lake, and there are dense primitive forests and many primitive Tibetan villages by the lake, including Meixi, Yalong, Ruoqiao, Dongga, Xiongjia and Niuma glaciers. Among these glaciers, Yalong Glacier is the most spectacular. The "Yalong Glacier" is 12 kilometers long, extending from the main peak of Gangri Gabu Mountain at an altitude of 6606 meters to Gangri Gabu Lake at an altitude of 4,000 meters. In terms of climate, it is located in the main channel for the Indian Ocean monsoon to transport cold air to the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, with sufficient precipitation, which is conducive to the development of glaciers and is a maritime glacier.
🚗 I came with a group this time, so I only walked the regular tourist route. Laigu Glacier is a group of glaciers, and I should have gone to one of them. Overall, I didn't feel it was difficult, and it's not like what the internet says about needing to ride a horse. I walked from the shuttle bus terminal to the innermost ice wall and back in an hour and a half with photos. The scenery is very good when the weather is good.
🚗 Some precautions
1. Be sure to pay attention to altitude sickness, you know your own body, there is no need to ride a horse but don't force it if your body can't handle it.
2. Be sure to pay attention to safety when going down, it is best to rent ice claws at the mouth of the glacier, after all, you are responsible for your own safety. 25y.
3. Currently, the big ice wall is not open. I went in today and walked straight in along the right side, no one stopped me so I thought it was open. There is some lake water near the ice wall that is not frozen. When I was about 20m away from the wall, someone shouted at me that it was dangerous and I couldn't go, so I hurried back.
4. If you live in Songzan or go to another glacier inside, you can drive in by yourself, you can ask in advance.
5. I don't know if all the glaciers in China are like this, there is no leader to play with. I have been to Alaska and Iceland and there are guides to walk the designated route all the way. Don't go to places without footprints on the glacier, pay attention to safety.

Blue Secret
Laigu Glacier is a general term for a group of glaciers, located in Ranwu Town, Basu County, Changdu, Tibet, adjacent to Ranwu Lake. Among the Laigu Glacier group, the Yalong Glacier is the most spectacular, extending from the main peak of Gangrigabu Mountain at an altitude of 6606 meters to Gangrigabu Lake at an altitude of 4,000 meters. Laigu Glacier is one of the three major glaciers in the world and the source of the Parlung Tsangpo.
🌟Highlights:
The blue ice cave is extremely shocking
👍Most recommended:
The blue ice cave has to go to the foot of the snow mountain at the end, it tests perseverance and persistence
🚉Travel strategy:
Navigate to the entrance of Laigu Glacier Scenic Area, the sightseeing car inside takes another 40 minutes, and then you need to walk or ride a horse to reach the first glacier, which takes about 40 minutes on foot. If you want to enter the innermost glacier to see the blue hole, you need to rent a car from the local villagers to go in. The road is very dangerous and it takes about 40 minutes to drive.
💰Average consumption:
The entrance ticket plus sightseeing car is 210 yuan, and there are discounts on general platforms.
The first glacier rides a horse for 100 per person.
The glacier inside rents a car for 300 per person. Although it is expensive, it is worth it

At Laigu Glacier, I saw blue ice for the first time
|||. The first sight of the blue glacier was really shocking!! The unadorned blue is really cool, and from the expressway into the scenic area, you can see a long blue ice wall from a distance, which is very explosive!! Laigu Glacier is a maritime glacier, so it only exists in winter. I came here a few years ago in summer, and it was just a puddle of muddy water. So if you want to see the glacier, you must come from December to March of the following year, and you will see it more completely. The weather is also very important. It's not so good to look at when it's snowing and cloudy. Under the reflection of the sunny day, the glacier will be bluer!! The original picture is directly out without any filters✌
Next is the precautions‼️We only went to the Blue Ice Lake, and heard from the hotel guide that this is the best one, and we didn't go to the other smaller and farther ones.
1️⃣ If you only look at the glacier, you need to buy a ticket to enter the scenic area and take the scenic area electric car. If you stay in the Songzan Hotel in the scenic area, you don't need to buy an extra ticket. The hotel is only a 5-minute walk from the glacier drop-off point. The glacier is deep inside and needs to be entered on foot or by horse. There is an extra charge for going to the other glaciers.
2️⃣Remember to buy ice claws in advance, the ice surface is really slippery, and it is easy to fall.
3️⃣Wear more clothes, wear hats and sunglasses, otherwise it will be very dazzling.
4️⃣If you are afraid of cold feet, remember to stick warm foot stickers, I am the one whose feet are frozen and numb😅

Yalong Glacier | Stunning blue ice cave, it's really beautiful.
🗻Yalong Glacier is famous for its huge scale and spectacular scenery. Its unique S-shaped black and white stripes make the glacier majestic and magnificent.
💎Glacier type: Yalong Glacier is a marine glacier. This type of glacier has a strong effect on shaping the landform, so Yalong Glacier is not "ice clear and jade clean", but has unique landform features.
☃️Glacier age: Yalong Glacier has a history of about 1.5 million years and is an important witness to the evolution of glaciers on earth.
❄️Blue ice surface: Under certain conditions, the ice surface of Yalong Glacier will show a charming blue color. This is due to the scattering and reflection of light by the ice crystal structure inside the glacier, forming a unique blue ice landscape.
🕙Opening hours:
Open in winter, you can go up to the ice surface from mid-January to early March
🎫Charges:
Ticket 160💰➕Tibetan driving guide fee 200💰

Chamdo - Laigu Glacier
The best time to visit Laigu Glacier and ticket information is as follows:
1. Best time to visit:
- Mid-December to March: This is the best time to visit Laigu Glacier. The weather is cold, the snow on the glacier is spectacular, and the lake is frozen. You can walk on the lake and touch the blue ice, and enjoy the purest glacier landscape and beautiful blue ice. Moreover, the weather is good every day during this period, which is very suitable for taking photos and playing. The prices of accommodation and air tickets are relatively cheap from December to January, there are fewer tourists during the Spring Festival in February, and you can also enjoy the peach blossoms in Bomi in March, which is a different view.
- Other seasons: After March, the ice lake begins to melt, and the ice on the edge of the glacier will gradually decrease, and the scenery is not as spectacular as in winter. By May, the ice on the lake has basically melted into blue lake water. Although the scenery of Ranwu Lake is also good, it is impossible to appreciate the shocking beauty of the glacier up close.
2. Ticket information:
- The ticket price for Laigu Glacier plus sightseeing car is CNY 210.
- For preferential policies, children with a height of 1.2 meters (inclusive) or less, and elderly people aged 70 (inclusive) or above can enjoy free admission with a valid ID; active military personnel, retired military cadres, disabled persons, doctors, etc. can enjoy half-price tickets with relevant certificates. The specific preferential information is subject to the announcement of the scenic spot on the day.

Laigu Glacier is actually a collective name for a group of glaciers, including Meixi Glacier, Yalong Glacier, Ruojiao Glacier, Xiongjia Glacier, and Niuma Glacier. There are stunning blue ice walls and blue ice caves here, making one doubt such scenery exists in reality. Yalong Glacier is personally considered the most spectacular.
Laigu Glacier photo spots
1. Ice-eroded lake in front of the ice tongue, directly shooting glacier details.
2. Laigu Village, where you can capture the long depth of the glacier.
Tips:
Only in January and February does the ice-eroded lake form a thick ice layer, allowing you to walk directly from the lake surface into the glacier. Other times it may be blocked and entry is not allowed, so timing is crucial!
We flew directly to Changdu. If you find the altitude too high, you can fly to Nyingchi or Lhasa, then join a group/take a chartered car/share a ride/drive yourself to adapt.
The lighting effect is better in the morning at Laigu Glacier. Only on sunny days can you get better blue glacier effects, making the photos more stunning.
For the second night, it is recommended to stay in Baxoi or Ranwu Town, and return to Bomi for the third night.
Bring/rent crampons for better walking on the ice surface. Essential items include hats, sunglasses, face masks, sunscreen, and high-calorie snacks. After reaching the entrance, you need to walk/ride a horse into the scenic area, which takes about 20 minutes, with horse riding costing around 100/person.
The ultraviolet rays are strong, and it is quite sunny during the day. Wearing a down jacket is sufficient. Do not rashly enter the glacier! Safety first.

Draw a landscape of Laigu Glacier.
It is already April. It should have been the peak tourist season, but for various reasons, this year's peak season has not yet arrived. So let's broadcast the scenery ahead in real-time.
Chengdu has already entered the peak blooming period of spring. In Laigu, located in the Chamdo region of Tibet at an altitude of 4000 meters, it is still a world of pure white snow. This set of pictures may not be perfect, but they can give us a glimpse of an icy peak world.
It is always people who look at the scenery. The state of mind of people determines whether the scenery is beautiful or not. Currently, we cannot travel everywhere, and our mood is not very beautiful. How is your mood?

Brother Yi gives you a different view of the Laigu Glacier scenery pictures.
During the epidemic prevention and control period, please inform all tourists to wear masks. The scenic area gate requires showing the Tibet Easy Pass and scanning the venue code. Tourists with abnormal venue codes are not allowed to enter the scenic area.
Then, please enjoy the scenery of the Laigu Glacier in the past few days. Several sightseeing spots have been added:
1. Reflection of the Sacred Mountain (photographing the reflection of the Duoji Sacred Mountain)
2. Wandering around the Blue Ice Lake (close-up shots of the blue ice by the Gong Lake, about 1.5 kilometers, you can also ride a horse, round trip about 100 yuan, the specific price needs to be negotiated with local villagers)
3. Laigu Glacier Blue Planet.
If you can't go to Antarctica, come to Laigu Glacier! 😂😂😂
"Laigu" means a hidden paradise in Tibetan. In Baxoi County, Chamdo, Tibet, China, there is such a village called Laigu Village🚞. The ancient village is surrounded by several radiating dragon-shaped glaciers, and the villagers have given each glacier a beautiful name, such as Meixi, Ruojiao, Xiongjia, and Dongga. These are the Laigu Glacier Group.
Why is Laigu Glacier blue💎❓
Laigu Glacier is not formed by direct freezing of water but by the compression of snow accumulated over thousands of years. This compression creates very tiny bubbles between the ice grains. These bubbles easily absorb red and orange light from visible light, while blue and violet light are scattered, creating a beautiful blue color like the sky. This blue color can still be seen even in rainy or snowy weather.
⚠⚠⚠ Glacier Hiking Precautions!
✔ Be sure to prepare crampons in advance. The ice surface is very slippery. Someone broke their hand on the ice without crampons, so be careful!
✔ It is about 2 kilometers from the shore to the giant blue ice under the ice tongue, which takes about 30 minutes to walk. Pay attention to whether the ice surface under your feet is solid while walking.
✔ The temperature here is actually okay. When there is no wind, the sun is very warm and not cold. Sometimes you will encounter strong winds while walking on the glacier. Wearing earmuffs, gloves, and scarves will keep you warm. Try to go in the morning or noon when there is plenty of sunlight, less wind, and the sun is warm.
✔ Only in January and February does the lake of Laigu Glacier form a thick ice layer, allowing you to walk directly from the lake to the glacier. Do not venture into the glacier at other times, as it can be very dangerous...

Laigu Glacier
Located in the mysterious and pure blue ice realm of Tibet, you can touch the glacier up close, witnessing a millennia in a single glance.
Between the end of the glacier and the ice lake, the fractured glacier reveals layers of eerily blue ice, towering dozens of meters high. The immense blue ice walls and ice caves present a scene so stunning, it's as if you're wandering through an Ice Age.
Featured on the cover of the September 2018 issue of 'China National Geographic' magazine: 'Laigu Glacier Group, the true beauty lies even deeper.' You might find the full view of the glacier ordinary at first, but as you walk further in and see the blue ice up close, right before your eyes, within reach, only then can you appreciate the true beauty of Laigu. Beauty and danger coexist; the glacier's form varies with the seasons. Winter is the best time to visit, as the colder it is, the thicker and safer the ice layer on the lake. When the weather isn't cold enough, many areas have ice that's too thin and can easily break, causing you to fall into the ice. It's essential to have a reliable guide leading the way, safety first!

Changdu's Tri-Color Lake journey, unlock your highland paradise!
🌈Changdu's Tri-Color Lake journey, unlock your highland paradise🏞️
🌄 The first rays of morning sunlight penetrate the curtains, casting a warm glow on my face, awakening my anticipation for the trip to Changdu's Tri-Color Lake. With an adventurous heart, I embarked on this mysterious and beautiful journey.
🚗 Driving along, the scenery outside the window gradually shifts from the bustling city to the rolling highland mountains. As the altitude rises, the air becomes thinner, but the excitement in my heart grows stronger.
🏞️ Upon reaching Tri-Color Lake, the first thing that catches my eye is the emerald green water, like a giant jade set amongst the mountains. The lake is crystal clear to the bottom, with sparkling waves that make one eager to explore. I stroll along the lakeside path, feeling the cool breeze as it sweeps across the lake's surface.
🌅 The lakeside sunset is a highlight of the trip. The afterglow of the setting sun sprinkles over the lake, the golden light reflecting off the green water, creating a breathtakingly beautiful scene. I sit quietly by the lake, admiring this picturesque view, as if I'm in a fairyland.
🍲 In the evening, I tasted the local Tibetan cuisine. The delicious beef and mutton, rich butter tea, and uniquely flavored barley wine, each dish was filled with the flavor of the highlands. Amidst laughter, I shared this unforgettable dinner with the local Tibetans.
🌌 As night falls, the starry sky over Tri-Color Lake is like dazzling diamonds scattered across the night sky. I lie on the grass, gazing up at the stars, feeling the tranquility and mystery of nature. In this moment, I feel as if I am one with the universe, sensing the infinite possibilities of life.
🎒 This trip to Changdu's Tri-Color Lake has deeply impressed upon me the grandeur and mystery of the highlands. Here, I not only enjoyed the beautiful natural scenery but also felt the warmth and sincerity of the local people. This trip was not just a spiritual cleansing but also an unforgettable memory. I believe that in the days to come, this journey will become one of the most precious treasures of my life.

's not the end of the blue planet at the poles | Includes strategy
I really recommend everyone to go to Tibet in winter, when there are fewer people, beautiful scenery, cheaper tickets, and you can also see the super beautiful blue ice🧊. The moment you step on the ice, it feels like you've reached the end of the world🌍 (When I posted on Moments, some people even asked me if I went to the North Pole🤣
🌟Laigu Glacier is a group of glaciers in Ranwu Town, Basu County, Changdu, Tibet. The ticket is 150 yuan and the sightseeing car costs 60 yuan, you can buy a package ticket for 210 yuan🎫
🚗Tour route: You need to take a sightseeing bus first (about a ten-minute ride), and then start walking or riding a horse🐴. Generally, you can go on the ice from December to March of the following year and enjoy the glacier up close.
⚠️Precautions:
1️⃣️The ice is harder and safer from December to February in winter, which is the best season for visiting😊. The weather in January is more stable, and you can walk into ice caves and ice walls~
2️⃣️Laigu Glacier is at a high altitude, be sure to prevent altitude sickness😷
3️⃣️Be sure to bring ice grips (you can rent them in the scenic area, 25 yuan a pair), sunglasses, hats, and other equipment, the wind on the glacier is really strong!
4️⃣️When taking photos in the blue ice caves and crevasses, be sure to pay attention to safety, do not enter the glacier interior at will🚧
5️⃣️You can fly drones over Laigu Glacier
6️⃣️It is recommended to visit in the morning, the play time is about 3 hours, and in the afternoon when the sun comes out, the ice surface may melt, and the relative safety factor is not so hig

Disconnected from the world for 3 hours | Got the trekking in Laigu Glacier, Tibet
| Got the trekking in Laigu Glacier, Tibet.🏔️
Speaking from the heart:
I'm a 23-year-old woman with no regular exercise and good health
The whole trek took about 3 hours
I was a bit altitude sick and rode a horse when I left the scenic area
It takes at most 10 minutes to walk from the entrance of the scenic area to the ice lake
Whether to ride a horse or not depends on personal physical strength. If you have altitude sickness, it is recommended to ride a horse
Ice claws are not necessary, and it is not recommended to go to dangerous places
But if you don't have anti-slip climbing shoes, it is recommended to bring ice claws
Make sure to eat and dress warmly before entering the scenic area, and go to the toilet
Try not to use the toilet in the wild in the scenic area, and don't litter at will
Respect and be alert to nature, admit your insignificance
Otherwise, you may lose contact with the world at any minute
·
It is only recommended to go to Laigu when the lake freezes in January-February each year
There is no need to go at other times
Check the local weather forecast before you go, and don't go in extreme weather
It is also not recommended to go when the temperature is very high in winter, as melting ice is very dangerous
·
For friends who have less trekking experience and want to see the glacier
Laigu is the best choice, you can easily walk to the front of the glacier
Because there are not many places in the world where you can experience it at such a close distance
Although it is commercialized now and the tickets are a bit expensive
But overall it is worth going

Lagu Glacier: Tibet's blue ice wonderland✨
Finally found the place I've been collecting for a year, Lagu Glacier, is a unique glacier resort in China. If Antarctica and Iceland are still out of reach, then in Rannu Town, Basu County, Changdu, Tibet, you can also enjoy the world-class blue glacier scenery.
This mysterious corner has one of the world's three largest glaciers, and is also the largest, longest and widest known glacier group in Tibet. When you are under the glacier, the crystal clear blue seems to be able to heal the soul.
Location: Lagu Village, Basu County, Changdu, Tibet
Altitude: about 4200 meters
Viewing time: 1-2 months (this warm winter the ice surface has started to melt at the end of January), about 2-3 hours to finish the tour
Ticket: EM ticket 150+ shuttle bus 60
Photo and play strategy:
It is recommended to choose the morning and noon time to play, the sun is abundant, the blue ice under the sun is as clear as a diamond. The wind is stronger in the afternoon, it may snow, if you are not afraid of the cold, you can stay until the afternoon.
Be sure to bring ice claws, there are also rental services in the scenic area. After the sightseeing car in the scenic area, there are self-riding horse projects provided by the villagers, and the walking distance is also very close, about a 10-minute walk.
The most eye-catching and dangerous place in the scenic area is the blue ice cave. The ice at the entrance of the cave has begun to melt, so be sure to pay attention to safety. I suggest you bring a drone like me, fly into the ice cave and shoot out, don't miss this beautiful moment!📸❄️

Tibet | Photos sharing of the entire trek in Laigu Glacier Scenic Area 3 - Blue Ice Wall
🚗 Laigu Glacier is a group of glaciers, located in Ranwu Town, Basu County, Changdu Area, Tibet, adjacent to Ranwu Lake, which is the source of Parlung Tsangpo. The melted snow flows into Ranwu Lake, and the lakeside is a dense primitive forest, with many original Tibetan villages, including Meixi, Yalong, Ruoqiao, Dongga, Xiongjia and Niuma glaciers. In terms of climate, it is located in the main channel for the Indian Ocean monsoon to transport cold air to the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, with sufficient precipitation, which is conducive to the development of glaciers, and it is a maritime glacier.
🚗 I came with a group this time, so I only took the regular tourist route. Laigu Glacier is a group of glaciers, and I should have gone to one of them. Overall, I didn't feel it was difficult, not at all like what the internet says about needing to ride a horse.
2. Be sure to pay attention to safety when going down, it's best to rent ice claws at the mouth of the glacier, after all, you are responsible for your own safety. 25y.
3. Currently, the large ice wall is not open. I went in today and walked all the way in along the right side, no one stopped me so I thought it was open. Some of the lake water near the ice wall is indeed not frozen. When I was about 20m away from the wall, someone shouted at me that it was dangerous and I couldn't go, so I hurried back.
4. If you stay at Songzan or go to another glacier inside, you can drive in yourself, you can ask in advance.
5. I don't know if all the glaciers in China are like this, there is no leader to play with. I have been to Alaska and Iceland, and there are tour guides who take you all the way along the designated route. Don't go to places without footprints on the glacier, pay attention to safety.

Go to the most beautiful place in the most beautiful season, the ancient glacier is a must-visit in winter
Winter is the best time to view glaciers. 'Gu', in Tibetan, means 'hidden paradise'. If you step on the ice, you will definitely be shocked by its beautiful scenery. This winter, come to Tibet to enjoy a visual feast.
The blue of the ancient glacier is dreamy, like blue teardrops poured from the sky. Walking on the glacier, feeling the purity and coolness of the ice, it's like falling into a dream, a dream about glaciers, about purity, about blue.
On the primitive ice lake, the huge glaciers are varied and beautiful. Walking into the ancient glacier is like returning to the ancient ice age, washing away the dust of the world and purifying the soul. The crystal clear blue ice is the most dreamy and beautiful scenery of the ancient glacier. The ice crystals here sparkle, just like a fairyland. Stepping on these blue ices, it's like walking into the Ice Age, which makes people can't help but sigh at the magic and greatness of nature!

Tibet Blue Ice Season | You must go to Laigu Glacier once (with guide ||| It's so beautiful that I'm speechless😭😭
Life advice: You must go to Laigu Glacier in Tibet once
Experience this beautiful and healing blue
In early December each year, Laigu Glacier enters the ice seal period
The crystal clear dreamy blue ice castle begins to form
From late December to the end of February next year
This is the best viewing period here
You can walk directly from the lake surface to the glacier
Laigu Glacier:
Tickets: 150+ sightseeing car 60
Laigu Glacier is actually a general term for a group of glaciers, which also includes Meixi Glacier, Yalong Glacier, Ruojiao Glacier, Xiongjia Glacier and Niuma Glacier. There are super shocking blue ice walls and blue ice caves here, which make people doubt that this is a real scene. Yalong Glacier is a more spectacular one that I think
Tips:
Only between January and February, the glacial lake will freeze a thick layer of ice, and you can walk directly from the lake surface into the glacier. Other times may be blocked and entry is not allowed, so the time to go is very important!
We flew directly to Changdu. If you think the altitude here is too high, you can fly to Nyingchi or Lhasa, and then join a group/charter a car//carpool/drive there, adapt a bit
The light effect of Laigu Glacier is better in the morning, and there will be a better blue glacier effect only in sunny days, so the photos will be more out of the picture
The next day's accommodation is recommended to be Basu or Ranwu Town, and you can return to Bomi for accommodation on the third day
Bring/rent ice claws, so that you can walk on the ice surface, hats, sunglasses, face towels, sunscreen, high-calorie snacks are essential
After arriving at the gate, you need to walk/horse ride into the scenic area, about 20 minutes, horse riding is about 100/person
The ultraviolet rays are very strong, the sun is stronger during the day, and a down jacket is enough
Don't rush into the glacier! Be sure to pay attention to safety

Is it feasible to go to Tibet in winter??
By the lake at an altitude of 4700, feel the winter wind blowing in your face.
Tibet in winter, Tibet·China, is relatively colder than usual.
The oxygen content on the plateau decreases, and many people avoid it during this season.
However,
If you are willing to bear the weight that others can't bear,
You can see the scenery that others can't see.
When I was driving on this road,
The real snowfield
Only then did the curtain rise.
Why go to Tibet in winter?
①Although this season is relatively cold, the altitude of the Sichuan-Tibet line rises all the way, and the sun is warm.
②The plateau has less precipitation in winter, and the probability of good weather is greater.
③There are fewer people in this season, and you can enjoy a more private and quiet travel experience.
④High cost performance, this season is the off-season for Sichuan-Tibet line tourism, and it is also the "Winter Tour Tibet" discount period. You can save a lot of expenses on tickets and accommodation, and you don't have to worry about crowding and queuing.
⑤Winter is the best viewing period for Laigu Glacier, Namtso, and many snow-capped mountains. The Laigu Glacier only has "blue ice" in winter, and only during this period can you get close to blue ice, ice caves, glaciers and other landscapes!
