What I didn’t expect was how quickly the city would sweep me off my feet—not just with its famed romance, but with its rich history, vibrant piazzas, and golden-hued beauty at every corner. Verona feels like a living love letter. The iconic Juliet’s House (Casa di Giulietta), with its stone balcony and thousands of love notes on the wall, is a must-see—even if you’re not a hopeless romantic. But there’s so much more beyond the legend. I wandered the cobbled streets of Piazza delle Erbe, once a Roman forum and now a bustling market square, surrounded by frescoed buildings and lively cafés. What truly captivated me was the Arena di Verona, a massive Roman amphitheater still in use today for opera performances. Attending a live opera under the stars in a 2,000-year-old arena is an experience I’ll never forget—it gave me chills in the best way. The Adige River wraps around the city, creating scenic bridges and perfect sunset views. I highly recommend walking across Ponte Pietra and climbing up to Castel San Pietro. The panoramic view of the terracotta rooftops and winding river is magical, especially at dusk. Best Time to Visit: Spring (April–June) or early autumn (September–October) for mild weather, fewer crowds, and open-air events. Summer is great if you’re attending the opera festival, but it gets busy! Travel Tips: Try local specialties like risotto all'Amarone or horse meat stew if you’re adventurous. Challenging yet accessible for all abilities is one of the best ways to describe the cycling route that clings onto the cliffs of the north western shores of Lake Garda. The road known as the Ponale is a mountain biking route that takes you from the town of Riva del Garda right up through the mountains and ending up on the shore of the alpine Lake Ledro. The road around Lake Garda’s western boundary and its tunnels are stunning enough and were of course used for the James Bond film mThe quantum of Solace’ however, the original road may be even better. The now converted road which is shared between hikers and mountain bikers starts at Riva del Garda and clings to the cliff as it climbs in altitude. As you pass through tunnels built in 19th alongside defensive buildings, built during the First World War you don’t only get the sense of the beauty of nature here but also its importance historically. Once you have travelled around 3km you can either turn back or carry on towards either the village of pregasina or cut away from Lake Garda towards lake ledro and it’s beautiful valley #100waysoftravel

With @VisitTrentino and @VisitSanMartino as my guides, I beheld an epic view that seemed straight out of a fairytale. This heavenly vista stretched as far as the eye could see, leaving me awestruck and humbled by the sheer beauty that unfolded beneath me. ✨💫✨ The peaks of the mountains pierced through the blanket of clouds, their snow-capped summits glistening in the sunlight. It was a sight that transcended words, a moment where time seemed to stand still.
