Labrador Nature Reserve is located in the southwest of the main city of Singapore, on the beautiful seaside. Not only is there lush vegetation, but dozens of species of birds can be seen here. It is a good place to enjoy the natural ecology. Labrador Nature Reserve was the commanding heights of the British occupation of Singapore during World War II, and the cannons, forts, forts and secret passages of the year are still preserved.

Hiking at Labrador Secret Tunnel Trail
#hikingtrails
Labrador Nature Reserve offers scenic hiking trails with a mix of coastal views, rich history, and lush greenery. Hiking at Labrador Nature Reserve is a refreshing experience. The trails are easy to follow and not too challenging, making them suitable for both beginners and families.
One of my usual hiking trails is the Labrador Secret Tunnel Trail. This trail leads you past old British military installations, such as tunnels, bunkers, and artillery pieces. While some areas are no longer accessible, there are signboards detailing the historical significance of the park’s fortifications. It’s great for history buffs who enjoy combining hiking with Singapore’s wartime heritage.
Overall, hiking at Labrador Nature Reserve is a great way to enjoy nature, get some exercise, and learn a bit of history at the same time.

Exploring Labrador Nature Reserve
#forest
Labrador Nature Reserve in Singapore is a quiet spot filled with nature and history. It sits on the southern coast, offering scenic forested area with lovely views of the sea.
During World War II, it served as a defense site, with tunnels and bunkers built to protect Singapore. Today, visitors can explore these old military structures, adding to the park’s appeal. As you walk through the forest, you’ll find the entrance to the 1892 storeroom, Labrador Battery, and more. There are also signs explaining the defense strategies used during that time.

Labrador Nature Reserve
This park is a favourite of nature lovers. It is unique to its World War II fort built in 1878 to defend Keppel Harbour, a rich forest of biodiversity and play an important part in Singapore's military history. You may discover historical war sites! I particularly like the nature trails, which may spot squirrels scurrying up trees, butterflies and beautiful birds chirping.
Remember not to enter the forested areas during stormy weather, may have fallen trees and branches. It is located within walking distance from Labrador MRT Station.

Labrador Nature Reserve, also known locally as Labrador Park, is located in the southern part of mainland Singapore. It is home to the only rocky sea-cliff on the mainland. It is also home to a rich natural biodiversity of wild life including birds, flora, trees and a unique species of butterflies.
With a beautiful view of the sea (and you can sometimes catch ships / yachts sailing in the horizon), Labrador Nature Reserve is a visual and sensual oasis of tranquillity and natural wonders as you take a walk along the 4 scenic boardwalks.
For health fanatics, the park is interspaced with fitness stations. A jogging track that goes around the reserve also offers a scenic route for those looking to work out while enjoying nature at the same time.

Scenic Hike Along Labrador Nature Walk
Take a scenic nature walk along Singapore’s very own Labrador coastal walk. Start from Berlayer Creek Pavilion located accessibly at Labrador Park MRT Station 🚆 and take in the lush greenery, as you notice the mangroves around you. Continue along towards the Bukit Chermin Boardwalk to the tip of Labrador Nature Reserve to the promenade at the Reflections at Keppel Bay.
Take a leisurely stroll along this coastal boardwalk, while enjoying the different pretty views of the expansive waters of Keppel Harbour, the lush greenery of Bukit Chermin hill, and the distant rocky cliffs of Sentosa island. During high and low tide, expect to see different fishes and crustaceans on the edge of the waters. 🌊

Keppel Bay & Labrador Nature Park
Head down to VivoCity via train, have a simple breakfast at basement, then we headed to Keppel Bay boardwalk.
Standing at the coastline, Sentosa Island is just directly opposite us. The blue sky was crystal clear and the sea breeze made the walk so enjoyable.
Singapore has a lot of rich people. Just look at the yacht parked at here, and the private condos around this area. You will need at least a few millions in your pocket in order to enjoy such lifestyle.
From Keppel Bay, we follow the track and it lead us to Labrador Park. Down here will be more shady because a lot of trees. Walk till the end of the park, and we reached a small beach. There is a jetty where people tends to come here for fishing.
We made a turn into the “jungle” towards Tamarind resort, abs along the way have some WII gun placement and battery historical place. Compound is smaller scale if compared to Sentosa Siloso.
We ended our morning walk at Labrador MRT station and overall journey is quite relax. Oh ya! Remember to bring your own water bottle, put on sunblock and will be nice to have mosquito repellent.

Located behind Labrador Park is a hidden gem where several World War II relics can be found. A replica of a six-inch gun along with statues of soldiers at work can be found near the top of the hill as well as two world War two machine gun pillbox can be found within the area. One of the pillbox is located on the hill and the other pillbox is located behind the public toilet further down, along the foot of the hill. Most of the pillbox were demolished except three; two are situated at Labrador Park. This place was also one of the 11 artillery forts for southern and western coastal defence of Singapore built by the British in the early 19th century.
This is a great place for hiking and get your child to understand some WW2 history of Singapore. There are plenty of activities such as bird watching, hiking or even just a trip to the playground will bring lots of fun!

Start point Labrador nature reserve
#newyearnewtrip
The Labrador nature reserve starting point begins here. There is the Labrador villa and private estate which is located right beside the starting point. There is also a small carpark there where you can park there to start your walk and explore there. From here, you will take a fifteen minutes walk into the jungle to visit the Labrador battery as well as towards the other attractions here. Do go on a weekends as there would be more people. When I went on a weekdays there isn't much people there. It is best to go along with someone else because of you injured along the way, there will be someone there to call for assistance. If you like nature and hills, you should visit here.

#newyearnewtrip
Taking a ten minute walk from the Labrador nature reserve park carpark, you will get to find the dragon's teeth gate here. It is a magnificent landmark here that has attracted many people here. It used to be a natural outcrop derived from the granite material near the keppel harbour area . This dragon's teeth gate was located at the keppel gateway towards the harbour western entrance . It was placed there two decades ago, to celebrate the Zheng he's journey. When I walked here, I saw many locals as well as tourists came here to take beautiful images of the scenery as well as this iconic landmark here. Be sure to visit here if you are at the Labrador nature reserve park.

An Afternoon Stroll in Labrador Park, Singapore
Labrador Park is located at the southernmost part of Singapore Island, boasting vast greenery and proximity to the sea.
Inside the park, there are several historical and cultural buildings of Singapore, mainly remnants of wartime gun emplacements and ammunition bunkers.
The park's vegetation is lush, with leaves almost completely blocking out most of the sunlight. Breathing in the humid air and listening to the intermittent chirping of birds, it doesn't take long to see the blue sea amidst the greenery.
Labrador Park's coastline may not compare to that of the East Coast or West Coast Parks, but it has the advantage of fewer people. There is a platform specifically for anglers, and many people can be found fishing there.
Walking along the coastline towards the direction of the Sentosa Cable Car, it takes less than two hours to reach Vivocity by foot.
A stroll in the afternoon followed by a meal at Vivocity is just perfect.
Get off at Labrador Park Station (Yellow Line) and a ten-minute walk will take you into the park.

Dragon’s Teeth Gate
#2024wish
Once I walked into Labrador nature reserve, I could see two huge granite structures stood at present Labrador Park and Tanjong Rimau of Sentosa. They looked like a pair of pegs in a typical Chinese ship’s bow (called Dragon’s Teeth by Chinese sailors) from afar, and therefore the water entrance was named Long Ya Men (龙牙门) or Dragon’s Teeth Gate by ancient Chinese maritime explorers.

A 6-inch gun barrel was discovered at the site of the former Beach Road Camp in 2001. This gun has now been mounted at one of the gun emplacement as a tribute to the Gunners of Labrador Battery. Three figures, one with looking out to sea and two others bringing ammunition from the underground store, complete the installation.
