Kuzuryu Shrine is a subordinate shrine of Hakone Shrine, divided into "Shingu" and "Hongu". During the reign of Emperor Takaaki, Komagatake of Hakone Mountain was enshrined as a sacred mountain, and later became a great spiritual place for mountain worship; in the early Nara period, a shrine was established. Later, in the Heian period, Kamakura period, Meiji period, and now the Showa period, the shrine was visited by Japanese nobles and generals as important shrines. Here, it is common to pray for prosperous wealth and happiness in marriage.
