The Tateyama Kurobe Alps Route is a tourist sightseeing route across the lofty mountains in Hokuriku, central Japan, because it takes six different climbing modes, time control is important. This one trip was one of the most anticipated of my entire trip, unfortunately the weather was not good, we got to Tateyama Station has started to rain heavily, up to see the view, all mist, like a fairyland. At Tateyama Station because I knew there was only 11 degrees left on the mountain, I immediately bought a thick jacket from a shop near the station, and then set off to take the Tateyama Mountain Cable Car, which is about five to 10 minutes’ drive to Beauty Flat. Then turn to the Tateyama Plateau bus, take about 50 minutes up the mountain, the car will play the video, but speak Japanese, he will introduce the scenery along the way, which will stop at some landmarks for everyone to take pictures. The plateau bus arrived at Murodo, the highest point at 2450 meters. There is an observation deck for everyone to look at the rolling mountains of Tateyama. Unfortunately, today we only saw a blur of white. Then the next checkpoint is Grand View Peak, take the Tateyama Tunnel Trackless car, and he did not feel anything because he could no longer see the view along the way. You can take the bus from shinano omachi station to the Ogizawa station and from there, you have to take a tunnel bus to the dam. This Alpine route is only open during certain periods of the year, they will only start to release the water from the dam in around June. Unfortunately, I went a little too early 🥲 Nevertheless, it was still beautiful 😍

it was constructed between 1956 and 1963. it makes your ayes blow to see the view up there. for me it was wonderful experience cause I never seen anything like that. but there’s a thing to get up there, you have to take your steps up to 200 stairs but once you got there it will be worthies. to get there from tokyo you have to take the train to nagano and from nagano get the bus to ogizawa station then you will get your alpine route ticket. the prices for round trip all the way to murodo station is ¥9000 and bus from ogizawa from nagano return about ¥4800 I will recommend you to continue to the other side. #2023TravelWish #tripblazers #MyTripVlog #japan

The transportation is the Kanden Tunnel Electric Bus. It feels really cool when you meet a car on a one-way street. After about 20 minutes, we arrived at the Kurobe Dam. It feels quite humid indoors. It rained again today, so we really need to wear a thin jacket~. There is a fork in the road. To the right is the observation deck, and to the left is the route to the second means of transportation. You can see the scenery of Kurobe Dam on both sides, but the observation deck must be more beautiful~ (Unfortunately, due to time and rain, we chose to give up) Follow the signs indoors and you will basically not get lost. When we came to the outdoors, we saw a photo-taking spot at the Kurobe Dam. The other side of the dam is a calm scenery. Both sides have their own attractions. Today, the snow wall stands at an impressive height of 16 meters. The sign indicates a temperature of 5°C, but it doesn't feel that cold. My phone shows a temperature of around 13-15°C, which seems more accurate to me. Strolling through the Murodo Plateau, I admired the majestic Tateyama mountain range. A few skiing enthusiasts were preparing to hike to the summit, appearing as tiny black dots from afar. It made me deeply realize how small everything seems in the face of nature. If you visit here, I recommend wearing sunglasses, as prolonged exposure to the snow's reflection can strain your eyes. After leaving Murodo, I headed to Daikanbo, Kurobe Plain, Kurobe Lake, and Kurobe Dam. Each location along the way offered spectacular views. When riding the aerial cable car at Daikanbo, I suggest facing the side with the view of Kurobe Lake—it’s more stunning. Since the cable car is pillarless, you can enjoy an unobstructed view of the scenery. Before reaching the Kurobe Dam observation deck, you’ll encounter a staircase with 280 steps, built along the mountain wall with a hollow base. Standing on it might feel a bit unsettling, so those with a fear of heights should consider carefully 😅. Climbing the 280 steps was more exhausting than I expected (my legs were so sore), but the breathtaking view of Kurobe Lake and Kurobe Dam made the effort worthwhile 🤣.

🌨️ I was slow when the reservation was opened, and I only got the ticket for the 4.16 11:30 departure to Ogizawa. Today I took a bus from Shinano Omachi to Ogizawa. The weather in Shinano Omachi was very good, but it started snowing halfway through the journey. We arrived at Ogizawa Station just after 10:30, so we spent 500 yen on the spot to change the time to 11:00 to go up the mountain. There was heavy snow all along the way, and it was all white and we couldn't see anything. 🏔️ The first stop is Kurobe Dam. All outdoor observation decks are closed and only the indoor observation deck is open. The second stop was Lake Kurobe, which required walking. The crosswind from the dam almost blew people down, so we had to walk to Lake Kurobe in a hurry. The third stop was Kurobe-daira. We took the tunnel cable car from Lake Kurobe up. There was a very large souvenir shop, a soba noodle counter, and a restaurant. When I arrived, it only received group guests, and all other observation decks were closed. 🚡 The fourth stop is Daguan Peak. We took the sightseeing cable car. It was still covered with white snow. After arriving, the outdoor observation deck was open. There was a snow cave where you could stand at the entrance to check in and take photos. The fifth stop is Murodo. Take the tunnel bus from Daikanbo. By the way, this section has been updated to electric buses made by BYD this year. There is also a poster commemorating the debut of the electric bus in the station. All activities in Snow Valley are suspended today. Murodo Station is very large. I went to Kurobe Dam from Ogizawa Station 🚍 It takes about 15 minutes by electric bus from Ogizawa Station to Kurobe Dam. It costs 3,200 yen round trip. The station comes into view after passing through a long tunnel and a fault zone. There is also an exhibition where you can see the process of building Kurobe Dam, and you can learn about its history. You can eat dam curry in the eat-in space 🍛 There is also a souvenir corner! Kurobe Dam Station is about 16 minutes away by KEPCO Electric Bus from Ogizawa Station on the Nagano side. #thingstodo This was my first stop of Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, Kurobe Dam. It took around 15 minutes from Ogizawa Station. The view here amazing and the wind is really strong, this dam is 186 meters high. This is such a huge and tall water dam, and also it is a way to reach Kurobeko station. Tallest dam in Japan at 163m. Built in 1963. Good view of the dam. Had good weather, clear sky and not too warm.
