Visit to Kumamoto Prefecture
My visit to Kumamoto Prefecture was a rich and enjoyable experience. The prefecture is famous for its beautiful nature and ancient history, especially for Kumamoto Castle, one of the best-preserved castles in Japan.
I enjoyed strolling through the garden surrounding the castle, where the flowers were beautifully in bloom. I also visited Aki's hot springs, where I felt a sense of relaxation surrounded by nature.
The dining experience was truly delicious as I tasted local dishes, including the flavorful Kumamoto pork.
I highly recommend visiting Kumamoto Prefecture to explore its beauty and unique culture. It's definitely a must-visit destination! 🌸🏯

Kumamoto Castle + Josaien: A Must-Visit for a One-Day Tour in Kumamoto City
When visiting Kumamoto, the first place that comes to mind and is a must-visit is undoubtedly Kumamoto Castle; it is one of Japan's three most famous castles and has a history of over 400 years. Located in the Chuo Ward of Kumamoto City, you can reach Kumamoto Castle on foot from almost any hotel in the Chuo Ward. 🏯🇯🇵
Kumamoto Castle suffered damage from the 2016 Kumamoto earthquake and thus required restoration. The castle's keep has been fully restored and was reopened to the public in June 2021. Inside the keep, there is a series of textual, pictorial, video, and model exhibits that allow visitors to deeply understand the history of the keep, and from the top floor, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Kumamoto City. Although the keep has six floors, there is an elevator inside, which is a thoughtful design that accommodates visitors with different needs. 👍🏼💯
After touring Kumamoto Castle, you can reach Josaien from the south gate exit. This area features a variety of shops selling souvenirs, restaurants, and snack stores. Although it's not very large, there are plenty of options, and you can even enjoy Kumamoto Bear-shaped Japanese rice crackers! After appreciating the historical and cultural aspects of Kumamoto Castle, taking a break and refueling at Josaien is a great choice. 🎏🍦🍱🍜🍰🍹🥰

The Iconic Kumamoto Castle🏯🇯🇵
3 days tourist in Kumamoto 🏯🇯🇵✨⛰️
Sharing to you my experience visiting The Iconic Kumamoto Castle, great 400 year history of this place 🤩
As of 08-16-23 , some parts of the areas in the castle is still on renovation because of the 2016 earthquake with a magnitude of 7.0 that sustained heavy damages.
Too many active volcanoes around Kumamoto like the largest active one Mt.Aso , reason why earthquake is often 4x in a month.
There is so much to see in this place , amazing nature everywhere ⛰️🏯

Kumamoto Castle
This is obviously the best castle in Japan. The castle tower is so huge that even all of Japanese are amazed by the size. Due to the terrible earthquake, the castle tower was destroyed in 2016, and it reopened several years ago. Although it is still under restoration, the view of the castle and cherry blossoms are so beautiful.
To get there, you must go to Kumamoto City, which is about 90 minutes from Tokyo by airplane.
But, of course, castle is the center of the city. Hence, everywhere you are , you can see the castle.

What to eat in Japan|This pub has made flowers for horse meat, each of which is the best appetizer
when it comes to Kumamoto, it must be a horse meat dish posted on the street. I have eaten horse meat in other places before coming here, and I dont have a deep impression. Until last night, the delicious can't stop, drunk in this home wine house. It is a "sakura meat", and it is the first Kumamoto of the country's meat horse breeding!
1 Test the owner's taste of the appetizer and change it daily. Tomato cream stewed seafood with mashed potatoes, a spoonful of sake and a small dish, instantly recognize this store, decided to add more!
2 The raw horse meat is mixed with cucumber. The amazing thing is the cantaloupe hidden in the cucumber, which embodies the unique sweetness of the horse meat. This dish is enough to drink a pot of wine.
3 The most recommended creation dish is the horse meat sauce cheese pizza. It is more like a pizza with a scented cheese soda cracker. It is topped with thick horse meat sauce and topped with spicy oil.
4 meat garlic sushi, using the finest pork belly and special sauce sesame oil, smooth and incomparable.
5Fried horse meatballs and horse meat cola shells. After chopping with chopsticks, large horse meat can be seen in the mashed potatoes. The meatballs are crispy and juicy, cost-effective appetizers, long live fried food!
6 Spicy fried horse meat slices in stone pot, this dish is very suitable for Chinese stomach, a bit like the practice of spicy chicken.
7XO Sauce Seafood Fried Rice
The biggest feature of this restaurant is the creation of horse meat and the Japanese wine variety that should be proud of. I sit in the corner and can only shoot the tip of the iceberg. There are 1000 in the store. The yen tastes a set of three Japanese sake.
* The horse's glycogen is three times that of beef, so the fresh horse meat has a special sweetness, vitamin content and calcium, iron and so on are the highest in red meat. And horse meat can consume excess heat in the body, and athletes use it to treat inflammation.

Visit Kumamoto Castle's 2 classic routes
to Kumamoto, where you will be the Kumamoto Castle. This Kumamoto Castle, once known as indestructible and never captured, collapsed in the attack of two earthquakes. Nowadays, in Kumamoto Castle, the glory of the past is faintly visible, but more is the wreckage. It is said that it takes 20 years for Japan to repair the Kumamoto Castle.
Tour Route 1: There are two routes to visit Kumamoto Castle. Most people choose to go up from the steps behind the Sakura Horse Racecourse, because Kumamoto Castle is built on the hills and the terrain near the Sakura Racecourse is relatively low. Short, it doesn't take much effort to get up. Along the way, you will pass through a wide grassland that has not been applied for, Yuan Taigu, Xi Dashou, and Erwan Park. After a round, you will arrive at Kato Shrine.
Features: The grass is photographed, the street in front of the Arboretum Arboretum is seen in the cherry blossoms
tour route 2: From Kumamoto's largest Tsuruya department store, walk along the road to Kumamoto Castle Inari Shrine Follow the road to visit the three tracks, the East 18th, do not open the door, and then climb a huge slope (a little laborious) to reach the Kato Shrine.
Line features: Visit Inari Shrine, less quiet, green avenue
!! The two routes are not repeated and are worth visiting.
Last tip: To see Kumamoto's iconic building, the size of the sky, the best location is in the courtyard of the Kato Shrine, and Kato Kiyoshi is the legendary figure who built this Kumamoto city.
Arale_Zhang.
The most famous feature of Kumamoto Castle is that the military returns to the military (the army wants to give up). Apart from its own towering and solid city walls, the designers have considered the situation of being surrounded by enemy forces at the beginning of the construction, so they are widely used in the city. Ginkgo biloba, even the material of the bed in the city, is made from the stems of the scorpion. The siege can be used as a reserve for the war. Therefore, the city of Kumamoto has the nickname "Ginkgo City", whenever the Ginkgo biloba leaves in the late autumn. When it is yellow, the beauty cannot be square.
In the Meiji era, Kumamoto Castle, as a throat fortress connecting the north and the south, stabilized half of Japan in the "Southwest War." At that time, the army of Kyushu's heroic Xixiang Longsheng was swearing from Kagoshima. However, when the army killed Kumamoto Castle, it couldnt be attacked.
There is also a samurai performance, the leftmost little girl is a descendant of the local warrior.

Start our first day of exploration, every place in the city is linked to Kumamoto adults, people feel a sense of cuteness.
There are two choices of tram and bus in Kumamoto. The bus starts at 150 yen, but the farther and farther it is. The tram is no matter how far it is. It costs 170 yen, although there is only one line, but it covers the core. The area is basically enough.
How come to Japan can not come to the kimono experience, and there is a beautiful place in this place - Shuiqian Temple into the fun garden!
When the owner looked at me, I highly recommend this style that is really suitable for me! How are you going to be like locals?

Kumamoto Castle, one of Japan’s most impressive castles, offers a glimpse into samurai history with its majestic architecture and sprawling grounds.
To get there, take a tram from JR Kumamoto Station to Kumamotojo-mae, which brings you right near the castle.
The best time to visit is in spring (March-April) for cherry blossoms or autumn (October-November) for colorful foliage.

Rediscovering History: A Journey Through the Timeless Majesty of Kumamoto Castle
I recently visited Kumamoto Castle, and it was a remarkable experience. The castle, one of Japan’s most famous historic sites, is known for its grand scale and impressive fortifications. As soon as I entered the grounds, I was struck by the beauty of the surrounding landscape. The castle’s walls and turrets stand tall, even after the damage from the 2016 earthquake. While some parts are still under reconstruction, I could see how carefully the work is being done to restore its former glory.
The highlight of the visit was the main keep. Though some sections were closed off for repairs, I still got to explore parts of the castle, including exhibits showcasing the castle’s rich history. I learned about the role Kumamoto Castle played in Japanese history, especially during the samurai era. The view from the castle is also breathtaking. From the top, you can see the city of Kumamoto spread out below, blending modern buildings with the traditional atmosphere.
What I found particularly interesting was how the modern restoration work is balancing historical accuracy with the use of contemporary techniques. It was a mix of old and new, making the experience even more unique.
Overall, Kumamoto Castle is a must-visit for anyone interested in Japanese history or architecture. Even though it’s not fully restored yet, the experience of walking through such a significant historical site was unforgettable.#travel #kumamoto #castle

Shogan, Summari, Warlords !
Kumamoto Castle is considered one of the three premier castles in Japan. it was the site of the final battle between 20,000 samurai and the ruling Meiji government. The castle is quite grand, 7 stories tall that looks more like a 12 storey level of a modern day building. The inside structure of the castle is also interesting. Lots of history on the castle and it’s restoration on display in the castlle.

Kumamoto Castle, a must-visit spot in Kumamoto City, Japan.
📝Kumamoto Castle is one of the three great castles in Japan. Although some areas are currently under repair, it still retains its charm and is a must-visit attraction in Kumamoto! After visiting Kumamoto Castle, you will be amazed by its history and restoration efforts. The castle's structure is magnificent, especially the stone walls and the main keep, which convey a sense of past grandeur. For history enthusiasts and tourists, this is an unmissable spot. There are also many souvenir shops nearby for shopping! The entrance ticket is about HK$58, and it is very convenient to purchase and use directly on Trip✨

A Time Travel to Kumamoto Castle: A Stroll Through History and Modernity in the City Center
Traveling from Kumamoto Station to Kumamoto Castle is very convenient by public transportation. You can take the tram, known as 'Shiden,' directly from the station to the city center, which takes about 15 minutes. Specifically, you can use the A-line route and get off at the 'Kumamotojo・Shiyakusho-mae' stop, from where it's just a 5-minute walk to the castle. The tram covers the entire Kumamoto city area, and the cost of traveling from Kumamoto Station to Kumamoto Castle is about 170 yen, making it quite affordable. Alternatively, you can enjoy a 30-minute walk while taking in the city scenery.
The most impressive aspect of Kumamoto Castle is its overwhelming scale and beauty. Built in 1607, it is one of Japan's three most famous castles and holds significant historical importance. The towering stone walls and sturdy stone foundations, along with the tranquility felt upon entering the castle, give a sense of timelessness. Particularly, seeing the ongoing restoration work after the 2016 Kumamoto earthquake highlights how important this castle is to the local community. Despite the restoration, the castle still maintains its majestic appearance, which is truly awe-inspiring.
Additionally, the exhibits inside the castle vividly showcase the history of Kumamoto Castle, providing insights into the lifestyle and military significance of the samurai era. The main keep of Kumamoto Castle has two floors, each featuring exhibits that reflect the history and culture of the Kumamoto region, making the castle not just an architectural marvel but a representation of Kumamoto itself.

One Day in Kumamoto🧸🐻 - What to do?
Hello~ I'm back with my one day plan in Kumamoto, where I went to last month. And some tips to travel in Japan during summer!
7:00 AM - Arrive at Kumamoto Station
- I took the first Shinkansen train from Hataka Station and arrived at Kumamoto Station at 7:00 AM.
- You must have Kyushu Pass first but seat reservation is not a must. You can go non-reserve train and find a seat there~ I personally reserved seat and there were only 4 people in my train.
- There are lots of coin lockers to deposit your belongings. But if your hotel provides some space to deposit your luggages, this helps you save the costs a lot!
9:00 AM - Kumamon Port Yatsushiro
- Loads of cute Kumamons are here. There're some small shops for you to buy food, drinks, and souvenirs.
- Parking Lots and toilets are available.
- If you want to go to this place, I recommend to rent a car!
- I took a taxi from Yatsushiro Station (Approx. ¥3,000). And when I arrived, the taxi driver told me that there is no any taxi or bus here. I had to walk around 2km to take the Airport Limousine Bus back to Shin-Yatsushiro Station. It's fine for me but not in summer in Japan.
12:00 PM - Kumamoto Castle Area
- Take Tram A Line from Kumamoto Station to Habatacho Station and walk around 400m. I recommend to buy one day ticket.
- Sakura-no-baba Josaien
- Kumamoto Castle + Musuem (¥800/¥850)
3:30 PM - Suizenji Park
- Take Tran A Line from Torichosuji Station to Suizenji Park Station and walk 250m.
- ¥400
5:30 PM - Shimotori Shopping Arcade
- Take Tram A Line from Suizenji Park Station to Torichosuji Station
- Have a dinner at Kumamoto Food Stall Village.
- I recommend Izakaya restaurant and local drinks only ¥100 per cup.
- Enjoy your time shopping here. I personally walked around and took Purikura as a local.
9:00 PM - Back to Hotel
- I booked hotel for a night because I would like to visit Aso Mount on the next day. You can take late night Shinkansen back to Fukuoka if you want to~
TIPS: IT'S A MUST TO BRING A BOTTLE OF WATER WITH YOU AND DRINK LOTS OF WATER DURING SUMMER IN JAPAN.

Entrance fee 800 for an adult, can get discount with Kumamoto city tram pass (1 day 500 yen). With discount 640 yen.

Kumamoto in Kyushu - Cherry blossom season has arrived at the hometown of Kumamoto Bear, the Minister!
Kumamoto, you really know how to enjoy the flowers~
🐻It's been a long time since we've seen the Minister Kumamoto Bear, who was once a superstar that went viral all over the internet. Compared to the hustle and bustle of Tokyo and Osaka, I prefer the quiet and gentle atmosphere of Kumamoto.
✈️To get to Kumamoto domestically, you can first fly to nearby Fukuoka, and then take a JR train or bus to Kumamoto.
🚃The main mode of transportation within Kumamoto city is the tram, also known as the Kumamoto City Tram. There are Line A and Line B, with a flat fare of 180 yen for adults and 90 yen for children. If you ride more than three times in a day, it's best to buy a one-day pass, which costs 500 yen for adults. They are sold at the comprehensive tourist information center at Kumamoto Station.
🏯The most famous attraction in Kumamoto is Kumamoto Castle, which is also one of the three most famous castles in Japan. However, the castle was severely damaged in an earthquake, and although it has been repaired over the years, many damaged areas can still be seen. But the castle tower has been restored and is now open to the public.
🎫Kumamoto Castle admission fee: 800 yen
🌸Many cherry trees have been planted around Kumamoto Castle, and now during the cherry blossom season, the castle looks even more beautiful against the backdrop of the blossoms.
🛒In addition to Kumamoto Castle, the nearby Sakura-no-Baba Josaien, Kumamoto Yatai Village, and AMU PLAZA KUMAMOTO are all must-visit places.
✅Sakura-no-Baba Josaien
Located just below Kumamoto Castle, it has many restaurants and souvenir shops.
✅Kumamoto Yatai Village
A foodie hotspot with izakaya-style decor, where you can taste authentic Kumamoto cuisine.
✅AMU PLAZA KUMAMOTO
A popular shopping center that has only been open for three years, located right next to Kumamoto Station, making shopping and transportation very convenient.

Falling for Kumamoto Castle in Japan
Japan has many castles open to the public for visiting, and Kumamoto Castle is one of the popular ones to visit. There are many exhibits which have undergone extensive restoration to retain its originality for visitors to have a taste of history. My favourite part of the castle will be the top floor where you can get a bird’s eye view of the castle grounds.
This castle is also a popular sakura viewing spot in spring, and in autumn some of the trees have their leaves turn yellow.
If you go to the castle now, certain parts may not be open to the public as they have been destroyed heavily by an earthquake in 2016. Hence, these parts may be undergoing restoration works. However, the main tower might have already been restored by now and you may choose to explore it instead.
