Kuang Si Waterfalls are located in Luang Prabang, Laos. The waterfalls are absolutely stunning, with multiple levels of water flowing into many pools. I was amazed by the largest waterfall, it was incredibly beautiful. There are different ways to reach the waterfalls. In my case, I rented a motorbike, which allowed me to stop anywhere I wanted to take photos. You can also go by van or tuk-tuk. The hike to the waterfalls is very easy and suitable for everyone. At the beginning of the trail, there is a bear sanctuary where you can see many bears relaxing in their habitat. Kuang Si Waterfall is the most beautiful waterfall in Luang Prabang. It is about 40 kilometers from the city center. It is outside Luang Prabang. There are 4 levels of waterfalls, which flow directly down from the top level in the middle of the mountain. If you walk past the most beautiful point, there is a hiking trail that crosses the waterfall, like walking through a mountain. It takes about 2 hours to walk (for those who are not very fit like us). If you are good at hiking, it may take less time. The entrance fee to the waterfall is 25,000 kip per person, which is about 55 Thai baht per person. I must say that it is very worthwhile. The water is very clear. There are fish in some spots. You can swim in the water. In front of the entrance, there are many food and restaurants. You can take them to find a corner to sit and eat in the middle of the waterfall.

Luang Prabang, Laos is a world heritage city with the most beautiful waterfalls, Tat Kuang Si Waterfalls, with emerald green water and lush green trees. We rented a car for a one-day trip and were picked up at our accommodation. Then we traveled to the waterfall, which is about 39 kilometers from Luang Prabang. It didn't take long to get there by car. The waterfall area is very shady. The walkway is convenient. There are shops, restaurants, and places to eat and play in the water. The highlight is the 4-tiered limestone waterfall, emerald green, very beautiful.

Visiting the Kuang Si waterfalls is the best thing I’ve done in Luang Prabang, Laos. The turquoise waters cascading into the these tiered pools made of limestone makes it really Insta-worthy! The best part is that you can also take a dip in the turquoise waters at certain allocated areas! But please take note of the signs that says no swimming in certain areas as some of the pools are considered sacred to the locals. There are toilets at the lower levels of the waterfall for you to change. You can also bring some snacks and drinks to picnic at one of the tables there after your swim. Remember to bring along some mosquito repellent though! I Loved stopping at this place to see the Laos forest, the falls and the sun bears. I would have loved to have gone for a swim in the pools, but the crowds were intense ( and this was in February 2020 before COVID changed everything). Go early and take your time at the sun bear sanctuary...fantastic. great outing , as always loved the lush green and foliage growing on the way to the waterfalls .
