Remments of the South Gate
#timetotravel
Kowloon Walled City was built in 1847 as an Imperial Chinese Military Fort. During the Japanese occupation, it was completely torn down. It was released to the United Kingdom in 1898 and had been a military stronghold ever since until 1987.
It was demolished in 1990 and replaced with a park. There were discovery of; two granite plagues with Chinese characters of “Kowloon Walled City” and “South Gate”; the granite paving foundations of the South Gate, a drainage ditch running along the inner city wall, and a flagstone path leading to the South Gate. The remains were declared historical monument in 1996.
The Kowloon Walled City Park was opened in 1995. There are many indigenous buildings and several features were preserved for public view in the park.

Authentic Thai Cuisine
#timetotravel
Kowloon City is known as Mini Bangkok in Hong Kong, due to diversity of Thai supplies fresh and dried direct from Thailand can be found as well as numerous of Thai restaurants big and small.
My new discovery, Thai Cuisine, towards the end of South Wall Road, is running by a Thai lady with Thai chef and Thai waitress. The lunch set of noodle or rice starting from HK$45 add on HK$5 for desert and drink. It’s a very good price.
The spicy pork with basil leave on rice with a fried egg is always my fav dish and add on cold black coffee with sweet sago. Definitely will be back for more. #thaicuisine #thaifood #本地遊 #thairestaurant #kowlooncity #passionpassport #urbanexplorer #mytripvlog #tripblazers #yuppijeinhk2023 #yuppijemeal2023

#timetotravel
Craving for Thai food, a place must be in Kowloon city, Kai Tak old airport, Kowloon, Hong Kong. It’s known as a little Bangkok.
One can’t miss to try not only Tomyum Kung or Pad Thai but my fave is spicy stir-fried pork with basil leave and sunny side up fried egg accompanied with a Thai cold black coffee drink.
Easily reached by Song Wang Toi MTR station exit B3 walk to Tak Ku Ling Road. Many buses passing by and off at Regal Oriental Hotel at Kai Tak road.

Japanese-style izakaya with a surprising wooden decor 🏮
This place is full of atmosphere and makes you feel like you're in a Japanese 🇯🇵 izakaya. The highlight 🌟 is the on-site teppanyaki 🔥 of a large whole lobster 🦞, hot and sprinkled with crab roe. The lobster meat is tender, juicy, and full of freshness 😋, perfect with beer 🍺 or sake 🍶. The Sushi Platter 🍱 is beautifully presented in a 3x3 grid, with each square containing a different type of sashimi sushi. The sashimi includes thick-cut salmon, thick-cut red snapper, and red shrimp. The red snapper is dense and smooth, with a fresh and sweet taste. The sushi includes black truffle scallops, ark shell, boiled abalone, oilfish, and grilled eel, each with a unique cooking method and distinctive flavor. You can try so many different dishes at once, which is very satisfying 😌.

Enjoy Thai Cuisine in Kowloon City!
Restaurant Name: Thai Golden Kingdom
It's said that when you come to Kowloon City, you must try Thai Golden Kingdom. So, we decided to taste the Thai dishes here!
First, we ordered two main courses: Pineapple Fried Rice for $85 and Thai-style Stir-fried Rice Noodles for $88. The fried rice was perfectly cooked, with each grain distinct, and paired with pork floss and pineapple, making it irresistible. The rice noodles were stir-fried with shrimp and egg, and served with crushed peanuts on the side, making it incredibly delicious!
Additionally, we ordered a snack: Thai-style Grilled Pork Neck for $88. The pork neck was thinly sliced and served with a special sauce. It had a slight spiciness that was very appetizing.
For dessert, we chose Mango Sticky Rice with Coconut Milk for $50. The mango was very sweet, and the sticky rice had a chewy texture. Paired with rich coconut milk, it was the perfect ending to the meal.

Before the Transformation of Kowloon City
The redevelopment of Kowloon City is an undeniable fact. Take the opportunity to savor the flavors you want to remember before it's too late!
Next year, one of the areas to be demolished is the Municipal Services Building, which includes a market, a cooked food center, and a sports ground.
I have some feelings about this Municipal Services Building. I still remember many years ago, during the inter-school table tennis competition, this was the venue. At that time, the sports ground didn't have air conditioning.
During the lunch break, our coach would always take us to Lok Yuen for a meal. Back then, a plate of rice with a cup of milk tea or red bean ice was enough to make us very happy.
Years later, I visited Lok Yuen again. The environment hasn't changed much. The biggest change is that you now have to use a QR code to place an order. I didn't expect the cooked food center in the market to keep up with the times like this.
Since we planned to have another game, my dad and I only ordered a little to reminisce. The steamed rice rolls with dried shrimp were served piping hot, and the sesame and sweet sauce thoroughly coated each piece, making it hard to be anything but delicious.
We also ordered the satay beef French toast. Simply put, it's satay beef stuffed inside French toast, topped with butter and syrup, giving it a sweet and savory taste.
The freshly fried French toast was hot, fragrant, and crispy. The beef inside was tender and plentiful, but it lacked the satay flavor. Let's just call it beef French toast.
Nowadays, drinking red bean ice and eating French toast no longer feels as amazing as it once did. Maybe it's because I've experienced more, or perhaps the taste isn't what it used to be. I'm not sure.
Sometimes, we are just eating memories.

Famous Cake Shop in Kowloon City.
My brother has been a fan of Tony Wong's cakes since he was a child, because they are not only visually appealing but also uniquely delicious. The cakes come in many unique and beautiful shapes, and what impressed me the most is his rose series.
This time, when I took my younger brother to the Tony Wong shop, he chose three floral-shaped pastries and a box of cookies with a floral theme as a gift for me, which felt very sweet and heartwarming🥰
🌟 Mango Coconut Cake
The cake is topped with coconut cream piping, the fragrance of coconut combined with the sweet and smooth mango mousse gives it a tropical taste, and the color is also very bright and attractive.
🌟 Chocolate Raspberry Cake
The rose-shaped piping is elegant and feels luxurious. The sour and sweet taste of the chocolate raspberry cake, combined with the rich chocolate aroma, is well balanced. The chocolate crispy cookies paired with walnut brownies provide a rich texture and a surprising layering of flavors.
🌟 Yuzu Sesame Cake
The yuzu cream piping is not only fragrant but also refreshing, with sesame crisps added to the inner layer to enhance the texture. The balance between yuzu and black sesame makes the cake even more delicious.
Floral Sweetheart
The flower-shaped cookies are cute and crispy, with added pistachio pieces, dried raspberries, Lingnan aromatic beans, and white chocolate, making the flavor surprisingly good🫶🏻. Perfect for gifting, with individual packaging that is both hygienic and convenient.

💗Secret Wonton Chicken Pot Wings ($388)
The soup of chicken pot wings is rich and sweet, with most of the chicken very rich, smooth skin and tender meat🐓 with fresh shrimp pork wontons and lots of vegetarian wings, the baby cabbage at the bottom absorbs all the essence of the soup, the ingredients are quite rich🍲

The surface of the noodles is covered with rich crab powder, which is sweet and sweet🦀 However, the noodles are more clumsy, which makes the whole thing a little inferior🍝

【Kowloon City Industrial Style Cafe】
This cafe is a bit far from the subway station, but I still love coming here. The rectangular design of the front and back areas has two different styles, and the color tones and decorations used in the interior design are very distinctive and personalized. It's also a pet-friendly restaurant.
🔹 Bacon Benedict Egg $88
I originally thought that the price of Benedict was a bit expensive, but after eating it, I felt that it was worth it 😂 The degree of egg custard is just right, and the rich egg flavor is mixed with Hollandaise sauce. When eaten with crispy bacon slices and chewy bread, the taste and texture are very even.
🔹 Smoked Chicken Caesar Salad $78
This salad has a generous portion, and the preparation is not sloppy. The smoked chicken has a more prominent aroma and a solid texture with a bit of chewiness. It doesn't have a lot of salad vinegar added, so you can taste the fresh and refreshing taste of the salad.
🔹 Espresso Tonic $45
The nutty flavor of the coffee beans is very prominent, and the ratio of espresso to tonic is just right. There is a hint of lemon in the middle, and the slight sweetness makes the drink more thirst-quenching. Highly recommended.

Nine Dragon City independent building, five stories high [Sanwo Story].
Fuk Lo Tsun Road in Kowloon City was my childhood home, and there are many restaurants on this street. Tonight, instead of having Thai food, I came to San Wa Syu to have teppanyaki🏮. This five-story independent building😎 is a brand new Japanese-style restaurant with sushi, teppanyaki, robatayaki, and washoku🥘. Teppanyaki and washoku are on the first floor, with Japanese-style decoration, elegant and spacious environment. Let's take a look at what we are going to eat tonight from the menu😍.
Summer Testing Menu $1380 (per person)
🔸️Fresh Hokkaido Scallop with Sea Urchin and Mizu Cloud Vinegar
Fresh air-freighted sea urchin🤤 with crispy Hokkaido scallop🤤, paired with sweet and sour Mizu Cloud Vinegar, refreshing and appetizing.
🔸️Grilled Fresh Mackerel with Straw and Scallion
Smoked with straw, the mackerel is grilled with scallions and wasabi😋, making the taste more delicious and outstanding🤤.
🔸️Teppanyaki Prawn with Matsutake Mushroom Sauce and Sea Urchin
This dish from Sabah is very surprising🦐. The prawn is very chewy, and the matsutake mushroom sauce is very fragrant and rich. The sauce is made by adding shrimp paste, sea urchin, and morel and sheep stomach mushrooms.🤩 It's unforgettable.
🔸️Fish Maw Tempura with Dried Scallop and Chicken Soup
This is an outstanding dish👍. It's the first time I've had fish maw tempura🐔. The chicken soup is cooked for 4 to 5 hours, and it must be finished🤭. After drinking it, I feel like I have more collagen😂, which is good for my skin.
🔸️Stuffed Matsutake Mushroom with Chicken and Hokkaido Scallop
This is the masterpiece of the chef. The chicken and scallop are stuffed into the matsutake mushroom, and there is chicken cartilage inside, so it makes a crunchy sound when eating.
🔸️Teppanyaki Saga Beef Sirloin Sandwich
The semi-cooked Saga beef sirloin is very oily and tender, with a strong beef flavor🦬.
🔸️Dried Scallop and Dancing Mushroom Clear Soup
After eating the Saga beef sirloin sandwich, I'm already full🍄. This soup is very sweet and refreshing, and the dancing mushroom is the most suitable. It can help digest the oiliness😋.
🔸️Mizu Shingen Mochi with Japanese Strawberry
This is a famous Japanese rice cake dessert, which tastes like jelly. It is seasoned with soybean flour and black sugar syrup, and the taste is sweet and delicious.
🔥I feel that the chef is very attentive to cooking👨🍳. All the ingredients, even the sauces and soups, are so fresh and delicious🤩. The presentation is also very exquisite👍. Tonight is really happy and unforgettable🥰.

Hong Kong Flower Appreciation | Nanchang Park's Bicolor Windbell Trees Flowering Information
Entering March, it is the time when the golden trumpet trees are in full bloom. The traces of golden trumpet trees can be seen in many places in Hong Kong. Nanjing Park is no exception. As usual, you can find many golden trumpet trees in Nanjing Park. However, what's special is that besides enjoying the golden trumpet trees in the park, you can also witness the beauty of the red trumpet trees! The flowers are gradually blooming now, so why not take some time to go and see the beautiful trumpet trees!
This spring, you have one more place to enjoy flowers! The bicolored Tabebuia gradually blooms in Nanchang Park. Although the number of flowers is not yet large, you can vaguely see that the tree is full of buds ready to bloom. The unique feature of Nanchang Park is its planting of bicolored Tabebuia. Currently, two types of Tabebuia can be seen in the park, yellow and red. The two bright colors gather together, forming a scenery that can only be appreciated in spring!
The golden trumpet tree usually blooms in March, with golden bell-shaped flowers hanging from the branches like bells, creating a golden spectacle. However, the flowering period of each tree is quite short, lasting only about one or two weeks. As for the red trumpet tree, it is a new tropical species, and when its pink flowers bloom, clusters of them resemble cherry blossoms. They mostly bloom in March and April.
