Tokyo Suburban Tour – Kamakura and Enoshima Beach Trip
If you're not in a rush to travel or shop in Tokyo, you can choose to explore the suburbs around Tokyo.
Actually, there are many beautiful places around Tokyo, such as Karuizawa, Kawagoe, or Mount Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi, all of which are worth visiting. I can introduce them one by one in the future. This time, I will introduce one of my favorite places—Kamakura and Enoshima.
I took the JR Shonan-Shinjuku Line from Shibuya Station in Tokyo to Kamakura, and the travel time was only an hour and ten minutes. Upon arrival, I went to Komachi Street in Kamakura to stroll and eat. They have standing wagyu sushi, and because it's near the seaside, there are also many sashimi sushi shops and various desserts. There are also many unique shops here that are worth checking out.
Next, we took the Enoden to Enoshima for a visit. On the Enoden train, besides experiencing the charm of the old train, you can also see beautiful sea views along the way. Although Enoshima is a small island, there are many places to visit on the island. We bought a ticket package for the escalator, lighthouse, garden, and cave, which cost only 1,100 yen. We took the escalator up and saw a temple along the way. There happened to be a festival rehearsal that day, which was very special. I didn't expect the lighthouse to be small, but you can see a wider sea view and seaside buildings from Enoshima.
Finally, we walked down the stairs to the cave at the other end of Enoshima. Before entering the cave, you will find many people playing on the rocks by the shore, which is very relaxing. Inside the cave, everyone can take a candle for free to explore, giving a sense of adventure. Of course, in the hot summer, the cave is a great place to cool off, but you have to walk back and forth, climb to the top of the island, and then return, so it's best to find a restaurant to sit down, have a drink, and rest when you come back.
This time, we didn't get off the Enoden midway to explore, so I hope to have the opportunity to go again.

ALL-IN-ONE things you can find in this street
Food, souvenirs, people - this is the best way to explore the japanese culture! We went quite late about 4pm and take note they closed at 6pm! The entrance is 3 blocks away from Kamakura station and it can get pretty crowded on the weekend!
Bring cash along as credit card payments are not much here. If you’re in Tokyo, take a day trip here!

After exiting the east exit of Kamakura Station, you will see the red torii gate on the left, which is the entrance to Komachi-dori. This road is approximately 350 meters long and runs parallel to Wakamiya-dori Road leading to Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine.

Tips: Picture 1 Toshimaya: This pigeon-shaped biscuit was invented by a local confectionery shop called "Toshimaya" in Kamakura. Toshimaya opened in Kamakura in 1894. The first owner Kubota Kujiro admired Tsuruoka Hachimangu Shrine very much and found that on the plaque in Tsuruoka Hachimangu Shrine, the character "eight" was composed of two pigeons. There are many pigeons in Hachimangu Shrine, and these pigeons are also considered to be messengers of God, so Kubota Kujiro decided to make a pigeon-shaped snack. And "サブレー" is actually the French sablé, which is a type of Western snack.
Picture 2: Ice cream
Picture 345: imbiss sausage, with multiple flavors, bursting with juice after one bite
Picture 6: Pudding, pumpkin flavor is the best
Picture 7: Berry wine, which can be hot or iced, with an alcohol content of 14 degrees.
Picture 8: Hand-made udon noodles, you usually have to wait to be seated. The udon is strong, the fried food is delicious, and the sashimi is also very silky.

[Kamakura] Warm up at the foot bath cafe♨️
While walking along Komachi-dori, I found the word "foot bath"! I was led to enter the store☺️━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
📍Iwaza Kamakura Komachi-dori Store
🏷️1-6-2 Yukinoshita, Kamakura, Kanagawa 248-0005
⏰10:00 - 19:00━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
The price includes a tea set, a foot bath, and a towel set to wipe your feet after you get out.
The time limit is 30 minutes
I had the impression that it was a bit hectic, but I was able to warm up surprisingly slowly☺️
And since customers can draw a water fortune, you can drop the fortune into the foot bath to tell your fortune♪
Why not try a slightly different experience? ✨

【Kamakura One Day Tour】Not Enough
🗓️Itinerary: Highly recommended for a one-day trip to Kamakura!
Better to arrange to stay there for one night.
The weather is really hot in summer, so be sure to bring a parasol.
Otherwise, it’s not a bad idea to buy a fan to fan yourself.
🏖️Atmosphere/Facilities: You need to pay attention to the train schedule, otherwise you will spend a lot of time waiting for the train. There are storage boxes at the station, and those with luggage can make use of them, but large ones are often easily borrowed.

Komachi street
There are Japanese street food, restaurant, snack & dessert, drinks, and souvenirs selling here. The time I visited was week day but it's crowded with a lot of school students. Seem, they were coming for outside activity. However, it's good which made a feeling of lively walking street. Lots and lots of food, snacks and dessert of all sort. Shops start closing around 5pm (some opened until a bit later). Many shops also give 50% discount from 5pm onwards for snacks that need to be eaten on same day. The shrine is at the end of this street.
Really enjoy eating and sightseeing here!!

Komachi dori
Kamakura Komachi-dori Street is a peculiar strip of modernity in the center of an ancient city, where trendy boutiques, gourmet cuisine, and a timeless ambience rub shoulders.
From Tokyo Station, take the JR Tokaido Line to Ofuna Station. Transfer to the Yokosuka Line and get off at Kamakura Station. The trains take almost one hour from Tokyo Station or around 30 minutes from Yokohama Station.
Komachi-dori begins at the red torii gate to the left of the east exit of Kamakura Station. The road runs for about 350 meters parallel to Wakamiya-oji, the street that leads to the Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine.
