First visit to Kochi Airport 🔰 I wanted to explore the airport for the first time, so on the first day I took the airport bus that departed immediately after arrival, so the next day I arrived at the airport a little early and wandered around 🚶‍♂️ Kochi, including the city, is made up of these two opposing pillars: Ryoma Sakamoto and Anpanman! 😁 Ryoma here, Anpanman there, that's how the airport felt ✨ And the observation deck, which is a must-have when visiting the airport 👀 Sakamoto Ryoma dominates the building, but the deck is all about Anpanman 🥯🥯🥯 I couldn't help but take a picture of the panel painting of Anpanman taking off from Kochi Airport 📷 It's faded and melancholy, though 💦 There was also an exhibition of aircraft tires next to the deck. Kochi Airport does not have lounges for ANA or JAL, only a card lounge is available within the airport. Located on the 2nd floor departure lobby (before security check), special members of affiliated credit cards can use the lounge for free for 2 hours. I took Japan Airlines flight 491 and went to Kochi Prefecture for the first time✈️ JAL491 Haneda 7:35 → Kochi 8:55 It was the first flight of the morning, and it was a Saturday during the summer vacation period, so the occupancy rate was high! #familytrips2024 The main hall here was rebuilt in 1558 by Chosokabe Kunichika and Motochika, and is characterized by its shingled roof. It is said to be the oldest building in Tosa where you can see the characteristics of buildings from the Sengoku and Muromachi periods. It has been designated as a national important cultural property. Not only the building but also the beautiful moss-covered garden is wonderful, so it's worth visiting even if it's not related to the pilgrimage.

As soon as I entered, I saw the statue of Motochika Chosokabe, and I felt a young Motochika. Also, right after paying the admission fee, I found the materials of Motochika Chosokabe, who built Motochika's camp, and learned that Tosa was different from the Tosa Yamauchi family. In addition, Tosa pottery and materials from that era are on display. As part of this special project, there was an exhibition of animal accessories from all over the country, including Gifu Prefecture's Sarubobo", Fukushima Prefecture's '"Akabeko", Kumamoto Prefecture's '"Kijiuma", and many others.

I'd like to introduce some of the sights that I thought were typical of Kochi. First of all, there was Sakamoto Ryoma in the domestic lobby (photos 1 and 2). This is a bunker near Kochi Airport. There used to be 41, but only 7 remain today. It's worth seeing, and it's the only bunker in the country that has a walk-through, which is on the local elementary school's route to school.
