Kanou Kobe Beef Yakiniku Restaurant
This restaurant is very near Kobe Chinatown. We were looking for a place to eat Kobe Beef and stumble on to Kanou.
The Kobe beef was delicious, right amount of fat in it and melt in your mouth kind of beef. The best beef I had in Japan so far.
The place have good service and English speaking.
And the cost is economical for the lunch and quality of the beef we had. We spend JPY8050 for the dishes we ordered. Marvellous.

Stayed at the Kobe Sannomiya R2 Hostel.
Choosing a hotel is an important part of a trip to Kobe. Since I was going to stay for 10 days, I spent a few days browsing and finally decided on the Kobe Sannomiya R2 Hostel. It's a great value for money choice:
* Many amenities are available for self-service at the elevator entrance, including skincare sets, facial care packages, hair ties, etc. The late-night pancakes (available from 8pm to 10pm) and ice cream are pretty good. I especially liked the unlimited capsule coffee! The hotel provides bottled water, just ask the front desk. There's a microwave on the 1st floor in the restaurant, and a kettle in the guest rooms. Umbrellas are available for free. The hotel has a laundry room and a gym on the 2nd floor. There's an ironing room on each floor.
* The location is excellent. It's a 3-minute walk to Sannomiya Station, a major transportation hub in Kobe. The hotel is a 10-minute walk from Hankyu Station, which is very convenient for transfers.
* The hotel is located in the city center, close to Nankinmachi. There are many convenience stores and drugstores nearby. It's about a 30-minute walk to Kobe Port Tower and Meriken Park, which is great for an evening stroll. There are many restaurants near the hotel, including Ishidaya Kobe Beef and Kaseiken. Hankyu Department Store and Daimaru Department Store are also within walking distance. There's a Lawson across the street from the hotel, and a Family Mart to the right of the hotel, which is very convenient. It's about a 15-minute walk to Kitano Ijinkan. There's a Don Quijote across the street from the hotel, but it's expensive. The Daikoku store in the alley to the left of the hotel has better prices.
2. Transportation
* How do I get from Kansai Airport to the hotel by bus? Which stop should I get off at and how far is it from the hotel?
If you take the bus, go to Exit E on the 1st floor after leaving customs at the airport. Go out of Exit E and find Bus Stop 6 (on your left). There's a ticket machine next to Bus Stop 6. You can use WeChat or Alipay to buy a ticket from Kansai Airport to Kobe Sannomiya for JPY 2,200 per person. Take your ticket and line up at Bus Stop 6. Someone will take your luggage for you. The bus ride takes 1 hour. When you arrive at Kobe Sannomiya, collect your luggage according to the luggage tag. No transfers are required.
If you take the ferry, go to the 1st floor of the airport to buy a ferry ticket, then take the shuttle bus to the ferry. The ferry ride takes 30 minutes. After arriving at the pier, take the shuttle bus to Kobe Airport, then take the Kobe Airport Sannomiya Line and walk for 3-5 minutes.
I hope this information will be helpful to those who are planning a trip to Kobe. 💪

Chinatown @ Kobe
#japantrip is memorable when I put Kobe as part of the itinerary. It's chinatown area where there are many chinese shops & lantern display. You can also find your horoscope there. Chinese culture here is still very strong due to historical event where most of its citizen came from China. Apart from Chinatown, there is also area where European buildings are around.

Rainy Day Exploring Kobe’s Chinatown 🇯🇵
Nankin-machi Chinatown in Kobe, Japan L Nankin-machi is a very small and compact Chinatown located in Kobe. It's the centre of the Chinese community in Kansai region of Japan. Although it is a small area, there are so many Chinese restaurants, street food stalls and souvenir shops. There are actually over one hundred restaurants, as well as a Chinese temple dedicated to Lord Guan. Even on a rainy day, this was so much fun to visit!

Kobe Chinatown Nankin-machi
#thingstodo I loved this Chinatown and would go back to it next time to eat.
(We were not able to eat this time as we had had a big lunch and were having Kobe steak for dinner.)
The Chinatown is big.
It is clean.
It is tourist friendly.
There are many food stalls - mostly offering the same items.
There are a few Spider-Mans along the walls so it could be fun trying to find them all in this area and the surroundings.
I would recommend this Chinatown for a walk through even if not stopping by to eat in it. There are many side alleys that looked interesting which we didn’t get to walk down.
