assemblage+ is an ice cream and cake specialty store located in Kyoto's Kiyamachi, featuring wood and stone elements in its decor, creating a strong literary atmosphere. The minimalist and high-quality design is very photogenic, especially the beautiful first-floor work bar where you can watch the preparation process. Upon researching, I found out that it is a branch of the popular bakery Assemblage Kakimoto, known for its unique handmade chocolates and pastries. I stayed in Kyoto for 7 days. I have to say that the shops in Kyoto are so cute. Especially this chestnut dessert shop by the Kamogawa River is worth a special trip Chestnut lovers should not miss it. Their chestnuts are full of chestnut fragrance and all of them are made from Mont Blanc from Tanba chestnuts. The chestnut filling has no saccharin taste. Cherry blossom viewing in Kyoto is an experience you can’t leave out when visiting Japan during the spring. Based on the latest forecast, it is expected to bloom from 24 March 2024 and peak at 1 April 2024. Here’s my top 6 viewing spot for Sakura in Kyoto, based on my 2023 solo trip: 📍Arashiyama 嵐山: take a stroll along the river bank, hop into the Sagano romantic trains or take a boat while going down the river. This is one of the places to enjoy cherry blossoms differently. 📍Keage Incline 蹴上インクライン: abandoned railway track framed with cherry blossoms, before taking a break at Blue Bottle Coffee 📍Kiyamachi Dori 木屋町通: enjoy an evening walk under the cherry blossoms after dinner at the Pontocho Alley. 📍Philosopher's Walk 哲学の道: Approximately two kilometres long, this is my favourite spot.
