The Kiso River is a river located in the central part of Honshu, Japan. It is the main stream of the Kiso River System. At its source, it is also called Miso River (みそがわ). Today, the Kiso River is popular with tourists because of the traditional Ukai that can be seen every year. Pelicans are actually Japanese, and translated into Chinese is cormorant fishing (pelicans are also called cormorants). Taking advantage of the long-necked sea bird cormorant's ability to fish, it is a fishing method that has been handed down in Japan and China since ancient times. In the Kiso River, Ukai is still popular today, and tourists can also take a sightseeing boat to see the cooperation between Ukaku and cormorants up close. You can also take a walk along the riverside on days when there are no pelicans. The cherry blossoms on both sides of the river are in full bloom in spring, which is very beautiful.
