Kinabalu Park trails for the explorer!
#wecreate healthy vibes when exploring the great outdoors!
If climbing Mt Kinabalu is not for you, consider trekking the trails at Kinabalu Park. There are a variety of trails around the park, some are more challenging than others. The most friendly of them all was Silau-Silau which is mostly flat.
Be mindful that the ground can be pretty soft if it has been raining and your shoes will get dirty! 🥹
Kiau View Trail has adequate ascent but is generally still pretty friendly. It crosses path with the Pandanus Trail which also has a little bit of ups and downs.
The fresh air is just fantastic! And the greenery…is good for the soul ❤️
Entrance fee to the park is RM10/pax and is valid for the whole day.

Polumpung Melangkap View Camp Site
A low-cost new camping site with a freshwater flown down from Mount Kinabalu. Sungai Melankap River has become a popular low cost family outing destination recent years.
Rental of tents and accessories are reasonable priced. Nice place for camping overnight with family and friends. Cheap and affordable. Visitors need to bring your own foods and charcoal for barbeque.
Also a good place for groups outdoor activity. This big campsite can easily accommodate 100 young adults.
Can get a bit hot around noon, but nice and cool at night.
Splendid back view of the magnificent mount Kinabalu in early morning. By mid morning, the mountain is covered by layers of clouds. Morning mountain view from this river is among the top ten best view.

Mount Sabah, also known as Mount Kinabalu, is the highest peak in Southeast Asia, at an altitude of 4095.2 meters, and grows at a height of 0.5 cm per year. It is the highest peak between Himalayan and New Guinea, and its granite peaks. Straight on the sky, the spectacular, is the biggest challenge for mountain climbers in Southeast Asia. In 2000, Mount Kinabalu was listed as a World Natural Heritage by UNESCO.
Today's Shenshan is a world-famous mountaineering destination. The peak of more than 4,000 meters is relatively easy to climb. Its spectacular scenery attracts tens of thousands of mountain climbers every year to challenge themselves. It takes two days and one night to climb the mountain. On the first morning, I will take a car from Kota Kinabalu city to reach the starting point of the mountain climbing at an altitude of over 1,000 meters. It will travel six kilometers along the hiking trail in Laban Rata. The hostel stays at rest; the next day at 2:30 in the morning, take a steep mountain road for nearly three kilometers to reach the peak "Roche Peak". If you are lucky, you can see the sunrise, then go down the mountain and return to the starting point of the mountain.
The section of the mountain road that climbed to the top is extremely difficult. It requires hands and feet and can be passed by grasping the rope fixed on the rock. On the summit of Roche, the foot is a deep abyss, looking to the east, the beautiful sun is shining out. To the east of the Roche peak is a levee that falls 1000 meters straight, which is the remains of the glaciers of the Ice Age. After watching the sunrise on the top of the mountain, it indicates that it is time to go down. The direct sunlight on the top of the mountain will cause damage to the skin, and the climate on the mountain will change. Once it rains, it will become more difficult and it will encounter mountain torrents. Therefore, all climbers must return to the top of the attack before 10 am. Management station at seven kilometers.

A Trekking Trip to Kinabalu National Park
This is a trip to Borneo Island in Malaysia. The nearest airport is Kota Kinabalu Airport. I obtained an international driving permit (which can be easily obtained at the Land Transport Bureau for 3800 yen and a photo taken within the last three months. Photos can also be taken at the bureau for a fee) and went on the trip. If you are comfortable with travel English, you can rent a car and make a same-day reservation at the local airport. Of course, you can also make a reservation online in advance. If you are worried about traveling, it is recommended to get full insurance, which is not very expensive.
It takes about 2.5 hours from the airport to reach Mount Kinabalu. We stayed at a hotel at the foot of Mount Kinabalu and trekked to the longest waterfall on Mount Kinabalu the next day, which is a 5-hour round trip. The route was a bit hot at times, but it is walkable even for a 15-year-old high school student. The hotel also has the famous Poring Hot Springs, where you can relax your tired body before heading back.

Mount Kinabalu Dairy Farm|'My Altay' Sub-venue where you can personally feed calves
Kota Kinabalu is not just about the seaside! There are also mountains⛰️. Mount Kinabalu in Kota Kinabalu has an altitude of over 4000 meters. At the Mount Kinabalu Dairy Farm, you can get a close-up view of the mountain👍🏻
p.s. Mount Kinabalu is also climbable, but you need a professional guide~
🌟【One-day Tour of Mount Kinabalu Dairy Farm】
This time, I joined a one-day tour because it takes 1-2 hours to drive from Kota Kinabalu city to the dairy farm (depending on road conditions). Joining a tour group with a chartered car is the most convenient~
8:00 Depart from the city, about an hour drive
9:30 First experience with barbecue🍖 and local specialty milk tea☕️
10:30 Arrive at the Mount Kinabalu viewing platform and the local fruit market
11:30 The highlight: paragliding🪂 and ATV experience
13:30 Lunch
15:00 Farm tour and feeding calves
16:30 Prepare to return, encountering evening traffic jams, it took about two hours to get back to the city😓
💡【Some Useful Tips】
1️⃣ The road to Mount Kinabalu Dairy Farm includes mountain roads, so friends who get car sick should prepare some medication.
2️⃣ The temperature on the mountain is tested to be lower❗️ If it rains, it gets even cooler. Even in summer, be sure to bring a jacket!
3️⃣ The 40rm insurance for paragliding needs to be paid on-site, cash only~ Most places on the mountain only accept cash, so be sure to prepare enough💰
4️⃣ The milk at the farm is very good, worth a try🥛

The national park is a heritage site and offers hiking trails, botanic garden, lodge for stay and snacking places. There is so much fauna and flora to learn about and a good place to start is the botanic garden (5 RM for non-Malaysian adult) The hiking trails are good and requires stamina. Be prepared for the rain, humidity and the sun. There are so many endemic varieties of birds and insects to watch out for. All in all it’s a natural paradise that is well preserved, natural therapy if you will!

You need to acclimatise and rest in Laban Rata or which ever resthouse you have booked. Wake up at 1:30am for supper. Summit walk starts at 2 am. Sayat sayat check point cuts off by 5 am. Last push to the summit via steep granite face. And you will be greeted by strong chilly gusts along the way. I suffered from AMS and had to stop at the gully. U-turn back as I was getting sick. Kinabalu National Park - Borneo, Malaysia
Kinabalu is a national park located on the island of Sabah. On its territory there is one of the highest mountains in Malaysia, in honor of which the park was named. Many legends are associated with this mountain: it is believed that spirits live here.
And at the foot of the mountain stretched the ancient jungle. These are evergreen dense tropical forests, where interesting plants are found at every turn. Here, for example, more than 1,000 species of beautiful orchids grow, as well as carnivorous flowers and the largest and most unusual flower in the world - rafflesia, reaching a meter in diameter and feeding on insects. Most of the local plants are endemic - that is, they can only be found in these places. And among the animal world here you can see different monkeys, deer and the Malaysian bear.
On the territory of the park, a natural recreation complex Poring Hot Springs was opened especially for tourists, where visitors of the park can enjoy relaxing hot springs.

Kinabalu Park in Sabah was in 1964 designated as one of the first national parks of Malaysia.
However, I always knew that there was a great cloud forest in Sabah, so when I had the chance to visit here during my stay in Kota Kinabalu, I jumped at the chance!
The first thing that hit me was the beautiful scenery (well, apart from the choking humidity). It ALWAYS rains here in Kinabalu Park and apart from getting us wet, it gives great life to the flora around here; the trees and shrubbery are all so green, and it makes for a very scenic hike.
Arguably the main highlight of Kinabalu Park though is the actual namesake itself, Mount Kinabalu, which is one of the youngest non-volcanic mountains in the world. It was formed within the last 10 to 35 million years and still grows at a rate of 5mm a year!
When visiting Kinabalu Park, it is best to wear warm clothing and pack some gloves. Also, don’t forget to bring a highly water resistant rucksack in case it rains (it will rain!). Consider bringing some high-energy snacks with you, too, such as chocolate bars and sugary treats.

Kinabalu Park is stunning. If you are visiting #kotakinabalu in #borneo, #malaysia, then I can’t recommend a daytrip to Mount Kinabalu enough. This park has it all: Jungle scenery, stunning Mountain Views and more. And you don’t even need to climb the mountain to enjoy it. Simply get a driver for the day to explore the park. My personal favorite part was climbing the bridge in the forest. It was definitely not an experience for the faint of heart (or for those with a fear of heights!) Towards the top of the mountain, there is also a creamery and dairy farm that’s worth a visit. You can also pay a few extra ringgit to see a rafflesia (rare flower) up close.

Malaysia's first world natural heritage, Shenshan National Park
Shenshan Park, is full of greenery all year round. Many rare animals and plants live here, walking on the mossy mountain trails, you can feel the grass and mind You can also see the world's smallest orchid and the world's largest Raffles flower bloom.
Built at the Shenshan Park headquarters at an altitude of 1,500 meters, it is the main entrance for park visitors. You can get a map at the counter here. There are many hiking trails in the park. The mountain is 4,000 meters above sea level. It is a project that many people who come to Sabah want to try. In general, it takes two days to climb the mountain. Time, but if you schedule three days, you will have more time to pay attention to the scenery along the way.
If you feel that climbing is difficult, the dairy farm at the foot of Mount Kinabalu is a paradise for young and old. This ranch stretches over the canyons and hills. It is a place where not only fresh milk is served every day, but the scenery is also very pleasant. . On this dairy farm, in addition to daily milking and packaging, visitors can also feed cattle and sheep by hand.
Come here, don't miss out on buying a freshly made ice cream. On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, you can also visit the process of milk and goat's milk.
Suri.
You can taste local fruits at the Nabaru Bazaar in the Mid-Levels. It is also a place where locals gather to sell local produce, fruits, home grown vegetables and handicraft souvenirs, so dont be surprised if you see a souvenir with a price of 2-3 yuan. . Unfortunately, the weather conditions of the day were normal, the mountains were raining heavily, and the roads that followed were only allowed to walk, so we gave up the possibility of continuing to go up and chose to eat at a restaurant near the base camp. The temperature on the mountain is low, and you need to bring your own skin coat or long-sleeved T-shirt in advance. Anti-mosquito and sunscreen are also essential.
