Kimpton arrives, and it's IHG's turn to take the lead in Tsim Sha Tsui!
In recent years, Hong Kong has seen few brand-new hotels open, but on September 16 this year, the city finally welcomed the Kimpton Tsim Sha Tsui Hong Kong. It is not only the largest Kimpton project worldwide to date but also the brand’s flagship in Greater China, located in the highly valuable Tsim Sha Tsui area, which has always been a battleground for luxury hotels.

As a pioneer of boutique hotels, Kimpton has always adhered to the philosophy of "people-oriented, experience-focused," telling unique travel stories in over 80 destinations worldwide. In recent years, the brand has been deeply cultivating the Greater China market, with five hotels already open in Taipei, Suzhou, Shanghai, and other cities, gradually establishing a presentation that combines international vision with local warmth. With the Kimpton Qing Shui Bay in Hainan set to open in early 2025, adding a coastal poetic touch to the brand’s footprint in China, now the Kimpton Tsim Sha Tsui Hong Kong debuts as a flagship, marking Kimpton’s continued investment in the premium luxury market in Greater China and demonstrating its strategic foresight in understanding the urban fabric.

Especially in Tsim Sha Tsui, IHG has formed a highly concentrated and strong hotel cluster, from the 497-room Regent, the 572-room InterContinental Grand Stanford, the 621-room Crowne Plaza, to now the 495-room Kimpton Tsim Sha Tsui. IHG has deployed a total of 2,186 rooms in the core area of Tsim Sha Tsui. Such a high-density, multi-brand, full-price hotel cluster is rare in the core areas of global cities. IHG has undoubtedly become the "absolute landlord" of this golden location.

Kimpton’s role goes far beyond just adding numbers; it uses design as its brush, dining as its ink, and culture as its soul to write its own chapter in Kowloon, Tsim Sha Tsui. This blend of global DNA and local stories is Kimpton’s most captivating expression. Looking ahead, Kimpton will continue to expand, with new locations opening in Suzhou Industrial Park, Shanghai Fengxian, and Xujiahui in 2026, further weaving its network across Greater China. It is foreseeable that Kimpton will not only grow stronger but will also offer every Gen Z traveler a fresh yet familiar, international yet local vibrant experience, balancing luxury with warmth to find the version of luxury that belongs to this era.
