Jeju Museum Tour - Itami Jun Museum, Kim Tschang-Yeul Art Museum
Jeju Island not only has beautiful beaches and islands, countless trendy shops, but also a place rich in artistic atmosphere!
Among them, the more famous ones are the Bonte Museum, the Ando Museum in Seopjikoji, etc. This time, we visited the Itami Jun Museum and the Kim Tschang-Yeul Art Museum;
The two museums are not far apart and can be visited together. Itami Jun, a Korean-Japanese architect, is internationally renowned. His famous work on Jeju Island is the PODO Hotel, located on the southwest slope of Hallasan Mountain. It features unique shapes and materials, excellent service, and natural hot springs, creating a luxurious and artistic hotel. The museum named after him is nearby. The design of exposed concrete combined with wide curved viewing glass perfectly integrates Itami Jun's works and models into the building;
Not far from it, you can walk to the Kim Tschang-Yeul Art Museum. He is a famous modern artist from Korea who lived in France and is one of the most influential Korean artists in the West. Known as the "Water Drop Painter" because water drops are a recurring theme throughout his creative career. The design of the museum has similarities with the Itami Jun Museum, and all the works stored in the museum are related to water drops, which is very interesting and unique;
If you want to experience a different artistic atmosphere in Jeju Island, this place is beautiful and less crowded, which will surely give you a different feeling. Also, it's a great place for photography!
