An Interesting and Realistic Floating Market
This is one of the closest floating markets we could find online, so we decided to visit. It is about a 45-minute drive from the city center and can be easily reached by metro and a free shuttle bus. We spent about 2 hours here.
You can buy food and sit anywhere you like. Try to find a table near the canal to feel the atmosphere of the floating market. There is more food at the market on the left side of the entrance.
The long-tail boat tours are divided into shared and private boats. You can take a boat ride around the quaint canals with several short stops along the way. It was amazing to see the life along the canal and observe the charming vendors. I ate a lot of food here and also bought some clothes. The locals are very polite and friendly. Highly recommended!

Bangkok best floating market 🛶
The vibrant and full flavour local food makes Thailand's floating market a unique experience! Damnoen Saduak appears to be the best known floating market for a very long time, but that also makes it one of the most touristy ones.
We recently discovered, Khlong Lat Mayom - another great outting experience for a real local vibe. There's really just plenty of food, ranging from tropical farmed fruits and vegetables, crispy pork, grilled prawn/squid with spicy sauce, coconut pancakes/desserts, pork satae, pad thai, khao soa --- all comes in small portion at reasonable price, so be prepared to EAT (till u drop) 😋🍜🍛🍝🦪🍢🍨🌮🥨🥥🍍🥭🌶🥜🍉🍈 Must not miss the boat noodle and the longtail boat cruise along nearby khlongs (canals) to get a relaxing glimpse of the local lifestyle.
Getting There: The floating market can be visited independently. You simply turn up at the location and use the local transportation, either skytrain to Bang Wa Station then cab it. It's around around 15km outside of Bangkok, a taxi ride here will cost you around 150-200THB max 🚕🚄🛺🛶
Tips: May also bring along a personal cup, straw, tiffin if you want to use less single-use plastic♻️

Flower Cafe | Antique Villa
Located next Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market, Rawvaela is a small and cozy cafe with great ambiance. The interior is beautifully decorated with flowers and antiques. It can get really busy on weekends. Great stop before or after floating market stroll, especially after a hot day.
They have great selection of drinks here. Specialty coffee. Beautiful cakes, delicate artwork with fresh eatible flowers. Not only does it look good, it tasted great especially the basque cheese cake 🧁🍨🍰🍮

Must-visit market recommendations:
1️⃣Coconut Market 'Chiang Mai'
Opening hours: Saturday and Sunday 08:00-16:00
Features: Coconut groves, streams, and bamboo bridges are very photogenic, the market mainly offers snacks. I didn't go on a weekend, but walking around the coconut grove waterways was very pleasant, and key is that it's very convenient for taking photos!
2️⃣Jing Jai Market 'Chiang Mai'
Opening hours: Saturday and Sunday 07:00-13:00
Features: An artistic atmosphere market mainly for clothing and handicrafts, where you can find a lot of interesting handmade crafts.
3️⃣Bamboo Saturday Market 'Chiang Mai'
Opening hours: Saturday: 07:00-11:00
Features: Various fresh breads that are delicious and good-looking, plus super tempting handmade hot cocoa! Actually, this is a bakery that brought its bread to the market, but there's a great variety! The market is small, and you can finish browsing in half an hour!
4️⃣Baan Kang Wat 'Chiang Mai'
Opening hours: Open every day except Monday
Features: Mostly consists of handicraft shops and workshops of niche artists, the buildings in the village are also quite original. I absolutely love this shiny shell craft shop🎉.
5️⃣Tha Phae Gate Night Market 'Chiang Mai'
Opening hours: Saturday and Sunday 16:00-22:00
Features: The market stretches across the entire old city, mainly offering various distinctive snacks and Thai clothing, with very convenient transportation.
7️⃣Chiang Mai University Night Market 'Chiang Mai'
Opening hours: 17:00-22:00
Features: Perhaps because it's near Chiang Mai University, it's much cheaper than other markets. Compared to other night markets in Chiang Mai, this one has the most complete selection of snacks, a must-visit!
8️⃣Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market 'Bangkok'
Although it's not as bustling as Thailand's 🇹🇭 most prosperous Damnoen Saduak. There are also super many snacks here, you must try the salt-grilled fish, the key is it's close to the center of Bangkok, only 20 kilometers away. A 30-minute taxi ride. BTS to Bang wa station
9️⃣ICONSIAM Siam Indoor Floating Market 'Bangkok'
I think for sisters who want to explore marketplaces during the day, this is a great place to come! It has air conditioning! This isn't a real floating market, it's an indoor food market with a water theme. I absolutely adore the big lamb bone hotpot here, it's a bit more expensive than other markets, after all, it's in a central shopping mall, and it has air conditioning. And you must try the AFTER YOU smoothie!

Traditional River life
This experience was breathtaking. Its worth every penny. 1000 Bhat for 1 hour through the market and then the town on the water. You can book in Bangkok at all the Tourists stalls.

Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market
It is one amongst the best floating markets in Thailand Bangkok. Opens only on weekends. Saturday and Sunday. Timings from 8am to 5pm. Ticket price for a private boat is 300 Thai baht per person and for the shared boat 100 Thai baht per person. It's a very different and unique experience and highly recommended. They also take you to 2 places on a boat - the Buddha temple and the Orchid garden which are decent enough.
