On the day we planned to see the Giant Buddha, we first visited the Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market. According to some guides, you can take a boat from here to see the Buddha. After trying it ourselves, here's what we found: there are many boat piers at the market. The regular boats cost 100 baht per person, but note that these boats do not pass by the Buddha; they only stop at places like orchid gardens and take about 1.5 hours round trip. To see the Buddha, you need to cross the bridge to the opposite side and take a boat that costs around 2000 baht. Finding the regular boat a waste of time and the Buddha boat too expensive, we decided to take a taxi to the alley with the Buddha (location ①). We strolled to the riverside and took a boat, which was a very chill and worthwhile experience! In the afternoon, the sunlight made the Buddha glow, creating a surreal and breathtaking sight. 📸 Here are our recommended photo spots: ✅ The Buddha in the alley (can be directly located by taxi) 📍862-896 Soi Thoet Thai 26, near Sam Sing Kung Shrine, with a small supermarket nearby for snacks and drinks. ✅ The Buddha at Wat Paknam by the water 📍796 Soi Thoet Thai 26, where you'll meet many fellow travelers. ✅ Take a small boat to see the Buddha 📍Bangkok Yai. When taking photos by the water, an old Thai man might approach you offering a boat ride. You might think he's a scammer, but don't hesitate to take the ride; it's genuinely great! 🗺️ Note: The map is on the last image. 🚢 About the route: The boat circles the water twice, taking about 28-30 minutes, passing by the Buddha, a reclining Buddha, and another shorter Buddha. There are also large lizards in the water, which is really cool! The sunset and breeze make it a moment to fall in love with Bangkok. 💰 About the price: The old man charges 300 baht per person, but you should bargain. This is one of the closest floating markets we could find online, so we decided to visit. It is about a 45-minute drive from the city center and can be easily reached by metro and a free shuttle bus. We spent about 2 hours here. You can buy food and sit anywhere you like. Try to find a table near the canal to feel the atmosphere of the floating market. There is more food at the market on the left side of the entrance. The long-tail boat tours are divided into shared and private boats. You can take a boat ride around the quaint canals with several short stops along the way. It was amazing to see the life along the canal and observe the charming vendors. I ate a lot of food here and also bought some clothes. The locals are very polite and friendly. Highly recommended!

Damnoen Saduak appears to be the best known floating market for a very long time, but that also makes it one of the most touristy ones. We recently discovered, Khlong Lat Mayom - another great outting experience for a real local vibe. There's really just plenty of food, ranging from tropical farmed fruits and vegetables, crispy pork, grilled prawn/squid with spicy sauce, coconut pancakes/desserts, pork satae, pad thai, khao soa --- all comes in small portion at reasonable price, so be prepared to EAT (till u drop) 😋🍜🍛🍝🦪🍢🍨🌮🥨🥥🍍🥭🌶🥜🍉🍈 Must not miss the boat noodle and the longtail boat cruise along nearby khlongs (canals) to get a relaxing glimpse of the local lifestyle. Located next Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market, Rawvaela is a small and cozy cafe with great ambiance. The interior is beautifully decorated with flowers and antiques. It can get really busy on weekends. Great stop before or after floating market stroll, especially after a hot day. They have great selection of drinks here. Specialty coffee. Beautiful cakes, delicate artwork with fresh eatible flowers. 🚌 How to get there: Take the MRT and get off at Bang Khun Non Station (Exit 2 or 3) and wait for the free shuttle bus (be prepared for the wait. The website says that you have to wait every 15-30 minutes, but when we went, we waited for an hour 😂) 💖 The market is only open on Saturdays and Sundays, so don't go on the wrong day. It opens from 8:30-17:00 (the recommended time is from 11:00 onwards. If you go early, sometimes they won't set up their stalls yet). ⭐️ Review 3/5 It's a big market, but the food is repetitive and there's not much to choose from. For us, it's probably the only time. It's hot too. After buying, you can sit and eat in the free seats provided. 😋 We bought 4 items: - Pad Thai, plain, 50฿. The taste is quite good. 3 flavors. - Squid fritters, 7 pieces, 70฿. The taste is good. The squid pieces are super big. - Bean sprouts, 40฿ per box. Famous shop. Ordered a mixed type. It's delicious. The dough is soft and fragrant. It's worth waiting in line. - Old shop ice cream, 20฿ per cup. You can add toppings. We ordered coconut flavor. It's delicious, fragrant, and creamy. BTS to Bang wa station 9️⃣ICONSIAM Siam Indoor Floating Market 'Bangkok' I think for sisters who want to explore marketplaces during the day, this is a great place to come! It has air conditioning! This isn't a real floating market, it's an indoor food market with a water theme. I absolutely adore the big lamb bone hotpot here, it's a bit more expensive than other markets, after all, it's in a central shopping mall, and it has air conditioning. And you must try the AFTER YOU smoothie!

This experience was breathtaking. Its worth every penny. 1000 Bhat for 1 hour through the market and then the town on the water. You can book in Bangkok at all the Tourists stalls.

Ticket price for a private boat is 300 Thai baht per person and for the shared boat 100 Thai baht per person. It's a very different and unique experience and highly recommended. They also take you to 2 places on a boat - the Buddha temple and the Orchid garden which are decent enough.
