taman nasional kerinci Seblat
Kerinci Seblat National Park provides habitat for important plants and animals, including the Sumatran tiger (Panthera tigris sumatrae), Sumatran elephant (Elephas maximus sumatrensis), Sumatran rabbit (Nesolagus netscheri), Asian tapir ( Tapirus indicus), giant lotus Rafflesia arnoldii, and Sumatran fir Taxus sumatrana, in addition to storing water sources for the needs of living creatures. Kerinci Seblat National Park (TNKS) is one of three national parks that have been included in the Tropical Rainforest Heritage of Sumatra (TRHS) since 2004 along with Leuser National Park and South Bukit Barisan National Park. The three areas are part of the World Natural Heritage Site in addition to Ujung Kulon National Park, Komodo National Park, and Lorentz National Park. TNKS has an area of nearly 1.4 million hectares and is located in four provinces, namely Jambi, West Sumatra, Bengkulu and South Sumatra. This area requires management to protect the existence of biodiversity in the conservation area. According to Tamen Sitorus, Head of the Kerinci Seblat National Park Center, that in the management process, multi-stakeholder cooperation is needed, including with the community around the area, traditional institutions, local government, local and international NGOs, and universities. “So far, we have collaborated in managing the TNKS area. The current conditions include data on the number of tigers from 2014 to 2018, information on hunting and trade in Protected Plants and Animals (TSL), calculating the rate of deforestation, and collecting data on other important species of animals and plants,” explained Tamen.
