The deities enshrined are Emperor Chuai and Empress Jingu. It is one of 16 imperial shrines in the country. The grounds also include Benzaiten Shrine, Inari Shrine, and Keishi Shrine🐓 If you get tired from walking around, there is a rest area! #FukuokaTourism "Furoan" A soba restaurant near Kashii Shrine that is only open at lunchtime. I previously introduced their tendon, but this time I had a set of soba and mini tendon. You can choose between kakesoba or morisoba. The nihachi soba is really delicious and goes down well. The tendon is also a mini tendon, but it comes with two shrimp, making it luxurious. It is dedicated to the legendary Tennō Chūai (14th Tenno), empress Jingū as well as their son Ōjin (15th Tenno) and the Sumiyoshi deities of the sea. According to the oldest, partly legendary historical records of Japan empress Jingū built this shrine in 200 A.C. when Chūai died in fights with the Kumaso. Since the Nara period the Kashii Shrine belongs to a small group of about a dozen shrines that are visited by imperial envoys at special occasions (chokusai-sha). In the courtyard, an ancient sacred tree towers into the sky. It is said that it guards the sanctity and peace of Kashii Palace and has never changed for a long time.
