[2024 Fujiyoshida Stay] Travel Guide for Kaneyamaen (Updated Nov)
Fuji view at Hotel Kaneyamaen
We spent a night at Kawaguchiko to view Mount Fuji.
Booked Hotel Kaneyamaen and it really didn’t disappoint.
Hotel staff is very friendly and staff is all dressed in Kimono, giving the Japanese vibe. The hotel is huge, there is a garden with lake, wine lounge, spacious lobby and public onsen. You can spend a whole day here.
We booked the Sanri room that comes with a private open air onsen with the view of Mount Fuji and the room is very spacious. Love the bay window that overlooks the Mount Fuji.
There is a drum show every night at the hotel lobby and it is a nice entertainment for their guests.
The hotel also provides complimentary breakfast and kaiseki dinner. Dinner is sumptuous and service is great. For the breakfast, there is a wide spread of food ranging from soba, udon, sashimi, origiri, chawanmushi, warabimochi and many more.
Overall, our stay is 4.5/5 ⭐️

Fuji View Hotel
Fuji View Hotel autumn special! Maple leaf garden|||I see that everyone is torn between Ubuya 🏨 Kukuna Hotel and Fuji View Hotel, so today I will talk about Fuji View Hotel in detail so that you can have an understanding of whether it is the hot spring hotel you want.
🏨 Highlights👉:
1️⃣ There is a Japanese garden with small bridges, corridors, and rockeries. The atmosphere and scenery are good.
2️⃣ There are performances at night, such as drum performances, bingo 🎁 games, and band performances. It is relatively rich, so you won't be stuck in your room.
3️⃣ Breakfast is in the form of a traditional buffet, and dinner can be served in the room 🍣 (kaiseki cuisine).
4️⃣ The garden has different scenery in all four seasons. The cherry blossoms in spring are gorgeous, and there are also cherry blossoms at night under the lights.
Fireflies flicker in the grass in summer, and you can enjoy the moon and maple leaves in autumn 🌙 and snow in winter ❄️.
🔸 Out of five points, Fuji View Hotel can get four points.
Points deducted for: no view of Lake Kawaguchi, so you can't enjoy the lake and mountain scenery.
If it is not a villa, the other rooms are relatively old.
The hotel is also relatively convenient for transportation, with a shuttle bus at Kawaguchiko Station. It is still relatively convenient for friends coming from Tokyo. You can take the train from Shinjuku Station to Kawaguchiko Station and wait for the shuttle bus.

Shozenkan: A private hot spring fairy tale at the foot of Mount Fuji, where tradition and beauty blend.
Stepping into this long-established Japanese hot spring hotel, it is not surprising at first sight, but there is a delicate courtyard inside, with small bridges and flowing water, and corridor rockeries, forming a quiet picture. Especially after the heavy snow in Tokyo in 2024, the snow covered the Shozenkan, as if stepping into a winter fairy tale world, I can't help but imagine, the cherry blossoms in spring are in full bloom, and how beautiful it will be.
The hotel is not small, but there are only a few rooms with private hot springs on the terrace. We are fortunate to stay in room 324. The best location not only brings extra costs, but also the priceless experience of Mount Fuji in front of you when you soak in the private hot spring. The room rate includes two meals in the morning and evening, the buffet breakfast is rich in variety, and the Japanese style is biased.
Dinner is a Japanese set meal, which is enjoyed in different restaurants according to the room type. The tea room in the afternoon provides free green tea and tea, and the all-day free drinks and snacks in the lounge, sitting by the window, the scenery is beautiful.
Every night at 8 o'clock, a Japanese drum performance and lottery event will be staged in the lobby. We are lucky to win the second prize. The prize is a bottle of grape juice, which adds a surprise to the journey.
Although I read some negative reviews before the trip, the actual experience far exceeded expectations. Shozenkan is not only a place to stay, but also a deep conversation with Japanese tradition and natural beauty.

Sumptuous buffet breakfast at Hotel Kaneyamaen
We had a sumptuous buffet at Hotel Kaneyamaen. It had a massive assortment and great variety of food. We were seated near the garden and we got to enjoy the greenery view while enjoying our breakfast.
There is a good mixed of western, asian and japanese food. There is even sashimi for you to eat and there is origiri station where the staff will make the origiri and you get to pick the flavour that you like.
There is also the noodles station and you get to choose soba or hoto noodles. You can select the ingredients that you like to be added to the soup.
For the dessert and fruits section, there is strawberry, berries and pineapple you get to choose. A little different from the usual melon and watermelon in buffet. There is also waramochi that you get to enjoy.
Overall, a very satisfied breakfast 👍🏻

This was truly an amazing experience. Having a private onsen on our patio with a view of Fuji-san was fantastic. The gardens were beautiful and majestic. the room is clean, bathrooms are clean. service was super attentive. dinner was great and was served in your room privately. first night menu and food was amazing, they changed it on 2nd night and we all thought it wasn't as good. don't get me wrong, still decent, but the bar was set too high on night one.

Fujiyama Under Luxury Spa Hotel Zhongshan Villa Villa
Introduction: Various Japanese hot springs list TOP10, not only the magnificent Mount Fuji landscape, but also the exquisite Japanese courtyard, with cherry blossoms, red leaves and other beautiful scenery all year round. If you want to see Mount Fuji with snow, it is recommended that in mid-November, the weather will not be too cold.
Reason for selection: There are many hotels in the Kawaguchiko area where you can see Mount Fuji, but the only place where the Zhongshan Garden has a superb Japanese courtyard is the hotel. Hakone is far from Mount Fuji, so there is no choice this time.
Transportation: Take the JR Shinjuku Station to JR Otsuka Station and transfer to the Fujikyu Line (the train is the cute Thomas train) to Fujiyama Station and call the hotel for free pick-up.
Price: From the basic room type of the main building of Zhongshan Park to 2,500 yuan to the villa, then 8,000 yuan. This time, I lived in the main building, Yanshan Pavilion, with an open-air style of about 4,000 yuan, and the villa is about 6,000 yuan. All have breakfast for two, dinner (kaiseki cuisine), very good value for money!
Spa facilities: The hotel is full of dozens of hot spring pools, such as the outdoor hot springs on the top floor, the open air in the courtyard, the private house soup, the public foot bath and hot springs. The best thing is the outdoor hot spring on the top floor. Its really a great enjoyment to watch Fujis hot springs.
Spa etiquette: Hot springs are divided into male and female guests, and the top public hot springs are divided into men and women by time. Hot springs require washing the body and soaking in the nude.
