Goryokaku Tower tickets were purchased in advance for 1200 yen →1080 yen for a good deal🉐 Went for a walk in Goryokaku Park! The cherry blossoms were beautiful and I could walk forever!! There were people having picnics and BBQs in the park☺️ I definitely wanted to go to Hachimanzaka! It was sunny and there weren't many cars in the area, so tourists were taking photos (lol) Kanamori Red Brick Warehouse, which you can walk to from Hachimanzaka! There is also Lucky Pierrot, which originated in Hakodate, nearby. There are souvenir shops and a beer hall to enjoy! Lucky Pierrot is so delicious that I was surprised 🍔🍟 At night, we went to Mt. Hakodate, which is famous for its million-dollar night view!! The night view starts after 7pm on the day we went, so we arrived at the top around 6:30pm and waited outside. It was cold and freezing, so you might need cold weather gear! Some people were even down. The gondola on the way back is crowded, so you should prepare to wait 30 minutes 😵💫 The gondola moves every 5 minutes! The round-trip ticket is 1800 yen 🎫 In addition to cash, you can use credit cards and electronic money! 🥹

On the third day, head to Yukura Shrine. The stone steps of the approach are covered with a pale red hue. I went to Hakodate during Christmas🎄 Hakodate is a pretty compact city, so I think you can enjoy it enough with just one night! I saw inside the Red Brick Warehouse, climbed Mount Hakodate on the ropeway, and saw buildings such as the Old Hakodate Ward Public Hall. Riding the tram was also a great experience🚋 The famous Western restaurant "Gotoken" had a classic atmosphere and had a lot of different curries. Kanemori Red Brick Warehouse district in Hakodate felt like stepping into a charming blend of old-world nostalgia and modern-day curiosity. The red brick buildings, set against the harbor and backed by Mount Hakodate, gave the whole area a unique character—kind of romantic, kind of retro, and definitely photogenic. I went in the late afternoon, when the light was soft and golden, and the place just glowed. The warehouses have been converted into boutiques, cafes, souvenir shops, and little galleries. Some spots were touristy, but I found a few quiet corners that felt special—like a tiny music box store playing soft tunes in the background, and a café with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the water. There’s something satisfying about walking on the cobblestone paths, sipping on a warm drink (I tried a lavender latte from one of the local cafés), and watching the boats drift by. The atmosphere was relaxed, with street performers here and there, and even couples taking wedding photos by the waterfront. At night, the buildings light up subtly, and the reflections on the water give it a magical feel. It’s not about ticking off major sights—it’s about enjoying the vibe. Hakodate is the highlight of this Hokkaido trip. All the attractions are even better than in the photos. It is amazing! I highly recommend the night view of Mt. Hakodate, Kanemori Warehouse, and Goryokaku Park. Mt. Hakodate and Kanemori Warehouse can be planned together. The street view there is very beautiful and comfortable to walk. It is very suitable to spend a half day walking there. Especially the Lucky Clown Burger that you must not miss. It is super delicious and super easy to buy. I spent 8,000 yen there on the first day🤣. It’s a pity that the plane arrived at night that day. So there is no daytime street view. Otherwise, the red Kanemori Warehouse reflecting the sunset should be very beautiful. Goryokaku Park is also unexpectedly beautiful. Goryokaku Tower is a must-see. You can see the entire Hakodate city from the top. The view is excellent! You can also see the classic pentagram shape. There are a few pearls in Hakodate this time. A set of two advance tickets with a lottery for 1,400 yen was available at the Hakodate City Tourist Information Center (inside JR Hakodate Station), which was a great deal.
