For those who live near Tokyo, I definitely recommend Kamakura for a day trip alone✨ It's great to enjoy it in any season♪ Of course, there are many wonderful spots, so I often go on overnight trips, but if you can't take a long weekend, I really recommend Kamakura, which is easy to get around on your own and is fully satisfying even for a day trip! It's a classic, but I definitely want you to go to Hasedera Temple's Smiling Jizo and Kannon at least once. You'll be overwhelmed by the power of the Kannon and sure to be healed by the Smiling Jizo! You can easily experience copying sutras every day during the daytime, so I like to do it to calm my mind☺️ On Komachi-dori, right in front of Kamakura Station, I've been addicted to Daibutsu-yaki lately because it's delicious and photogenic😋 I especially like the bacon cheese and cream cheese blueberry flavors, but they're all delicious~ There are also many restaurants on Komachi-dori for lunch, but it's a bit pricey because it's a tourist spot💦 If you go down a side street and then a narrower street, you'll find some relatively inexpensive and tasty restaurants! If you are in Tokyo and want to do something different from big city life, go to Kamakura. It’s very easy to reach it by train 🚆 Then go to Hasedera Temple. Buy the ticket and go inside. If you are collecting stamps - the stamp area will be on your left side after the entrance. Then just slowly explore the area: beautiful temple and amazing nature around, and after that - walk upstairs where you can see Kamakura sea side and its houses from above. The view is stunning and also there is a special spot to seat and take a break while enjoying the view around. #tokyostroll

There is more to Kamakura than Enoshima and the Great Buddha, but my favorite place is Hasedera Temple. Go to the Harudai Trail, where you can see the beautiful scenery of hydrangeas in May, shining against the Kamakura coast. Legend has it that more than 1,300 years ago, when Hasedera Temple in Nara was built, two statues of Guanyin were carved from nanmu wood. One was enshrined in Hasedera Temple in Yamato and the other was thrown into the sea. After 15 years, the Buddha statue floated in the sea to Sagami Province, and was finally moved to its current location, where Kamakura Hasedera Temple was built. The Hase 11-faced Guanyin is three stories high, but photography is not allowed inside the temple, so you can go there to experience the solemnity and beauty that shocks your soul. There are three places in the temple with three "Good Marriage Ksitigarbha" statues leaning against each other. It is said that if you find all of them, you will be able to find a good marriage. Also worth a visit is the Manfengyuan Academy, which is also a place for writing sutras.
