Kakegawa Castle has changed hands many times in history and has been rebuilt many times. Its address is in a castle in Kakegawa City, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. In the middle of the Muromachi period (1469-1487), the important minister who protected the daimyo, Yoshitada Imagawa, built the castle. At the end of the Tokugawa period in 1854 (the first year of Ansei), there was a major earthquake in the Tokai region (Ansei Tokai Earthquake), and the Kakegawa Castle and most of the buildings were damaged. In 1861 (the first year of Wenjiu), the Ninomaru Palace was rebuilt, but the Tianshou was not rebuilt. In April 1994 (Heisei 6), the castle was restored with a wooden structure (composite watchtower type with 3 layers and 4 steps).
