I stayed at this hotel for 5 days during my 5-day trip to Changsha
Changsha's hidden gem hotel - Jianhongda JW Marriott Hotel in-depth review
In the bustling map of Changsha, Jianhongda JW Marriott Hotel is a shining star. It is located in Tujiachong, South Second Ring Road, Changsha, just a 5-minute walk from Tujiachong Station on Metro Line 1, providing great convenience for travel.
Unique design, blending local culture
This hotel was carefully designed by HBA Singapore, drawing inspiration from the magnificent mountains and rivers of Hunan and other natural landscapes, skillfully blending Eastern aesthetics with Western classics, and seamlessly integrating local cultural elements into every detail. The hotel lobby features a unique triangular pattern design, with a dynamic wave-shaped ceiling and corridors adorned with traditional Chinese screens, creating a unique atmosphere that is both elegant and grand.
The hotel has 284 rooms, including 14 suites, to meet the needs of different guests. The 33rd floor features a 24-hour fitness center, indoor heated pool, and signature spa, providing guests with a comprehensive relaxation experience. The Executive Lounge is located on the 35th floor, on the same floor as the Sky Lobby, offering guests an exclusive and luxurious experience.
Great value stay experience
- Membership and stay cost: I stayed as a Titanium member and chose the Executive Open King Room.
- Thoughtful welcome gift: I was pleasantly surprised upon check-in, as the hotel prepared fresh welcome fruits and a cute griffin doll for me, making me feel at home as soon as I entered the room.
Comprehensive stay experience
- Upgrade and service: After checking out of Four Points by Sheraton Tianxin, I drove to JW Marriott. I communicated with the hotel in advance through the app and successfully upgraded to an open king room. Although this hotel is difficult to upgrade to a suite due to the owner's relationship with celebrities, it depends more on luck, but the staff left a deep impression on me with their warm and attentive service from the moment they greeted me. When I checked in, I asked for a doll, and the staff readily fulfilled my request.
- Room layout and facilities: Upon entering the room, the spacious layout was impressive, and the overall arrangement was comfortable and pleasant. Although the table in the middle of the room is fixed and cannot be moved, it does not affect the overall comfort. The two floor-to-ceiling windows are very transparent, but unfortunately, it was cloudy on the day of check-in. If it were sunny, the view outside the window would be even more charming.
- Lounge experience: The lounge on the 35th floor is a highlight of the hotel, offering afternoon tea, happy hour, and breakfast. During afternoon tea, there are several exquisite fruits and delicious desserts available, along with thoughtful Paris water. Happy hour features a variety of hot dishes, freshly cooked noodles, and the homemade mango sago dessert is a must-try. The service staff can not only make delicious cocktails but also provide Paris water at any time. There were not many guests in the lounge that day, and the service staff could remember the names of each guest who re-entered the lounge, which greatly enhanced my experience.
- Breakfast experience: Breakfast can be enjoyed in the lounge or on the 3rd floor. The lounge is quiet with fewer people, but the food variety is relatively limited; the breakfast on the 3rd floor is much richer, with 3 types of freshly squeezed juices, delicious smoked salmon, Yakult, Paul yogurt, freshly cooked noodles, and special duck egg rolls. The only downside is that the fruit variety is somewhat ordinary, but if they could add various berries, the breakfast experience would be perfect.
- Fitness and pool: The gym and pool are uniquely designed, offering a sense of privacy, and the service is excellent. When guests want to take photos, the service staff actively assist, which greatly satisfied me and enhanced my experience.
Thoughtful service and little surprises
The hotel's service is exceptional, with handwritten cards from the staff full of sincerity, showing care for the guests, which greatly enhanced my stay experience.
✅ Soundproofing: Excellent soundproofing, allowing you to rest well in a quiet environment.
🧹 Cleanliness: Excellent cleanliness, with rooms and public areas kept spotless.
🏘️ Room layout: Reasonable room layout, spacious, with the Executive Open King Room having a large open space and floor-to-ceiling windows offering a wide view, with a comfortable overall arrangement.
🛌 Supplies and facilities: Complete facilities to meet various needs, with room arrangements and facilities showcasing quality.
💰 Per capita consumption: Based on my stay experience, with discounts such as point deductions, the actual cost was 493 yuan, offering great value for money.
💗 Other tips: The hotel is conveniently located, close to the city center, but due to not being in a commercial area, there are relatively few dining options nearby. Additionally, taking the elevator to the 3rd floor and fitness center requires a transfer, which is slightly inconvenient but does not affect the overall stay experience. I highly recommend experiencing this hotel, especially for those who value service quality, as I believe you will be as deeply attracted to it as I am, and I will definitely return when I have the chance.
