Taiwan Self-Drive Tour: A magical encounter at the Stone Beach and Jiufen Old Street.
On our last day in Taipei, we got up early and drove from Shilin to the Stone Beach. The beautiful coastal road was a feast for the eyes, and every part of the journey was filled with anticipation and surprises. For those who love self-driving, this is definitely a must-visit destination.
Stone Beach: Artistic coastline
The Stone Beach attracts every traveler with its unique artistic atmosphere. Although there are many stations along the way, the Stone Beach Station is undoubtedly the most artistic. Here, you can not only feel the sea breeze, but also enjoy a cup of strong coffee at the Seagrass Coffee, which will sweep away the fatigue of the journey.
Jiufen Old Street: The real version of Spirited Away
In order to find the real version of Spirited Away, we specially came to Jiufen Old Street. The old streets, food, and unique cultural atmosphere here make people feel as if they are in the animation world of Hayao Miyazaki. Under the perspective of DJI drones, the beauty of Jiufen is unobstructed.
Taipei Taoyuan Airport: Transit can also be part of the trip
During the transit time at Taoyuan Airport, we did not choose to wait in the boring waiting room, but made full use of these 7 hours to explore various foods and shopping fun in the airport. From Lin Dongfang Beef Noodles to Xingbo Coffee, every shop is fascinating. Each boarding gate at the airport has different themes, allowing people to enjoy the fun of travel while waiting.
Food recommendation
• Xiaonanmen Tofu Pudding: The combination of tofu pudding + rice cake, only 65 NTD, very cost-effective.
• Mazu New Village Wheel Cake: Taro, peanut, sesame three flavors, each one is memorable.
Travel tips
• The catering and shopping at Taoyuan Airport can basically be swiped with Visa and Mastercard, and there is no need to exchange NTD when transiting.
• If the two flights are in different terminals, remember to reserve enough time. It takes about ten minutes to walk from T1 to T2, and only a few minutes by Skytrain.
This trip to Taiwan not only allowed us to appreciate the artistic atmosphere of the Stone Beach, the animation world of Jiufen Old Street, but also experienced the fun of transit at Taoyuan Airport. I hope that next time I have the opportunity to travel freely around the island and explore more beautiful scenery and food in Taiwan.
