Bamboo Green Garden was opened in May 2003 in the area of Sungren Mountain in Damyang County. Walking up the stone steps from the entrance of Bamboo Green Garden, the oncoming scenery and fresh air make you feel relaxed and refreshed. The breeze blowing from the bamboo forest soothes the tired body of tourists and injects infinite vitality into life. Listening to the sound of the rustling bamboo leaves, strolling in the dense bamboo forest, letting the sunlight shining through the gaps in the bamboo forest fall on the body, the warm and poetic scene is unforgettable. Bamboo dew tea grown by absorbing bamboo leaf dewdrops in Bamboo Green Garden is sweet and fragrant. You may try it after enjoying the mountain bath. There is a 2.2km long walking path in Bamboo Green Garden where you can enjoy a bamboo forest bath. The road starts from the observation deck of Bamboo Green Garden. The whole section is composed of eight themes, such as Great Fortune, Childhood and Bamboo Horse, and the Path of the Philosopher. From the observatory, you can see the beautiful scenery including Damyangcheon, the Guandang Forest made up of old trees over 300 years old, and Damyang's famous Sujam alley. It's Juknokwon. It's such a famous place that everyone
maybe you all know it, but since it was my first time visiting,

Why I love Damyang in the summer🍃💚
Damyang in the colorful fall is pretty, but Damyang in the summer season full of green is so pretty.
A season where the green Gwanbangjelim and the bamboo trees stretching straight up go so well with the blue sky.
A bite of bamboo shoot ice cream while listening to the sound of bamboo swaying in the wind every now and then, and riding a bike through the green trees in Gwanbangjelim is so exciting.
A day when I was happy to be able to feel the times I felt in Damyang in the summer with my family and May again🍃

It's pretty in the fall, but it's also so pretty in the summer.
When I went there a few years ago, I rented a bike and rode it, and I couldn't believe how exciting it was.
If you keep following the Gwanbangjelim road, you'll come across the Metasequoia Road, so it's good to combine the Noodle Street + Gwanbangjelim + Metasequoia Road.
It's also great for walking your dog!

Juknokwon is a representative tourist attraction of Damyang.
Some people don't go out of their way to visit, but I always stop by when I have a chance to visit Damyang.

Juknokwon bamboo forest is one of the most famous places in Gwangju.
There are trees in different styles, mostly bamboo trees. There are many sections such as meditation path, exhibition center and cultural village, including waterfall. I liked the way of meditation the most, it was very pleasant to walk through the bamboo trees.
There are also traditional Korean houses where you can stay overnight. You can also enjoy the night with your family, play traditional Korean games or relax. Although 4 hours away from Seoul, this place is worth coming.
The entry fee is 3.000 KRW for adults

I enjoyed a half-and-half tteokgalbi set meal at Juknokwon, a Damyang restaurant that makes food using vegetable and fruit enzymes without using chemical seasonings. Everything was delicious, but the eggplant tangsuyuk, the chewy and well-cooked tteokgalbi, and the bamboo-scented daetongbap were the best. It's a good place to take a walk around Juknokwon near winter and have a meal~

A complete healing trip! Damyang Juknokwon🎋
#We visited #Juknokwon in #Damyang for a #family trip! It was a real #healing trip as we walked through the green bamboo forest..ㅠ When the wind blew, you could hear the bamboo leaves rustling and it was a place that really made my heart feel at ease ᴗ̈ It was so spacious that you would have to stay for over 2 hours once you went in and the bamboo leaf ice cream we ate inside was delicious! If you are going on a healing trip, you should definitely go there ୧⃛(๑⃙⃘◡̈๑⃙⃘)୨⃛

Full of Refreshing Feelings: Damyang Metasequoia Road
When I travel to Damyang, I really wanted to visit the Metasequoia Road! 🌲 The green color in the photo was just my style:)

A comfortable walking path surrounded by big trees! I could feel the Metasequoia trees while driving, so it was nice to drive!

The Bamboo Forest was impressive with its quiet walking paths winding through the bamboo groves. The sound of bamboo swaying in the wind brought a sense of peace throughout the walk.
🌳Metasequoia Land offered a serene atmosphere with its well-maintained tree-lined paths and harmonious blend of natural sculptures.
The towering Metasequoia trees were incredibly refreshing. Just walking through the forest felt like being surrounded by phytoncides, making me feel healthier.🌲
It was a journey where I could slowly walk and feel close to nature, even without a specific purpose.🦋

If you’re craving a peaceful escape, Juknokwon (죽녹원) in Damyang is the kind of place that instantly slows you down. This beautiful bamboo forest is full of shady trails, rustling leaves, and cool mountain air — a perfect break from the busier parts of Korea.
Juknokwon – A Bamboo Escape That Takes Some Effort to Reach
Getting to Juknokwon (죽녹원) in Damyang turned out to be an adventure in itself. First, we had to figure out how to get to Gwangju Station — and with time ticking, we decided to skip the 1-hour wait for the train that wasn’t very frequent and just took a cab instead. Faster, easier, and saved us some stress.
Then came the challenge of finding the right bus stop to Damyang. Thankfully, a kind Chinese-speaking ajumma came to our rescue and pointed us in the right direction to take the bus.
Despite the hassle, the moment we stepped into Juknokwon’s bamboo forest, all the effort felt worth it. Tall, swaying bamboo, peaceful walking trails, and the sound of rustling leaves — it was absolutely serene.
Pro tip: go early, bring cash (bus may not accept T-money) and expect a little problem-solving along the way.

Experience Buyeo Baekje Cultural Complex
In Chungcheongnam-do, Buyeo, there is the Buyeo Baekje Cultural Complex. While the buildings are not ancient, they are newly constructed structures, and nearby you can find facilities like Lotte Resort and a roulette game area.
The complex recreates the culture of ancient Baekje, featuring buildings and museums. In the courtyard, there were events where traditional games were reenacted, and prizes were given out. Many children were actively participating.
The site is vast, with Baekje-era architectural structures built across the area, making it quite a walk to explore everything.
After visiting the Buyeo Baekje Cultural Complex, I headed to Juknokwon in Damyang, Jeollanam-do. I truly got my fill of bamboo there. Walking through the bamboo forest and listening to the rustling of bamboo leaves was a delightful experience.
A short distance from Juknokwon, there is the Metasequoia Road. Although there is an entrance fee, walking along the Metasequoia Road is worth it. Nearby, there are souvenir shops, cafes, and charming accommodations, offering plenty to see and enjoy.
Experience Baekje culture, stroll through the bamboo forest, and take a walk along the Metasequoia Road!
