Here are a few fun things to do on Juhua Island: East Coast Scenic Canyon: You can enjoy the scenery of the sea island and feel the reputation of "Putuo Mountain in the south and Juehua Island in the north". Ancient Coast Gallery Scenic Area: Here are the thousand-year-old Bodhi Tree, Octagonal Glaze Well, Dalong Palace Temple, Tangwang Cave and other attractions, where you can enjoy the beautiful sea island scenery and feel the profound Buddhist culture. Jiuding Stone: Along the way, there are coastal sightseeing, Mazu Temple, Bohai Guanyin and other attractions, which can be reached on foot or by small battery car in the scenic area at your own expense. | Juehua Island Cycling and Sea View. Take a boat from the Ludao Transportation Terminal in Xingcheng, Huludao to Juehua Island. High-speed ferry round-trip ticket: CNY 120/person, about 30 minutes; regular ferry round-trip ticket: CNY 90/person, about 1 hour. Juehua Island is a very primitive island, home to many local fishermen, and not many tourists. The scenic area does not charge an entrance fee. After landing on the island, there is a bus around the island that goes to various attractions, such as Dalonggong Temple, Jiuding Stone, Beach, and Strange Stone Beach. However, I personally think that renting an electric bike is the best way to explore the island, as you can ride with the sun and sea breeze, stopping whenever you like. We rented an electric bike from Baicheng Seafood House. The bike was very new, and it took 2–3 hours to ride around the island (including visiting attractions). The rental fee was CNY 60, and the deposit was CNY 100.

The ferry schedule is related to the tide time, you can ask the accommodation owner for specific times. I suggest going early to catch the first ferry. 🌊No dogs allowed, the island is inhabited by locals, no large supermarkets, mainly seafood ingredients, a newly developed island. 2️⃣Dandong Dalu Island 📍 🚗Transportation: Drive to Dalu Island Pier, buy a ticket at the pier and take a boat to the island. The ticket is 95 yuan per person (including 5 yuan insurance) for the trip. The return ticket is 90 yuan per person. The boat ride is fast, taking about 15 minutes to reach the island. There will be a free bus to take passengers to different stops. You need to ask the hotel in advance which stop to get off at. 🌊A well-developed tourist island, accommodation and food are relatively expensive, more commercialized, dogs are allowed. 3️⃣Huludao Xingcheng Juehua Island 📍Juehua Island Township, Xingcheng City, Huludao City, Liaoning Province 🚗Island transportation: Take a boat from Xingcheng Juehua Island Water Transport Terminal, round-trip ticket for Huahao boat is 120 yuan/person, the one-way trip takes about 25 minutes. From July to August, boats depart from 7 am to 5 pm, usually when full, with no fixed schedule. 🌊A place suitable for leisure and vacation away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Stay for a few days, go beachcombing, dig in the sand, swim in the sea, eat some seafood, enjoy the sea breeze, relieve stress, watch the sunrise on the east beach, and the sunset. Buy seafood directly from fishermen, swim in the south sea. The beach is soft, the sea is clear, and you can catch crabs. Be sure to contact the accommodation owner in advance to confirm room pictures, distance from the sea, and whether they offer pick-up and drop-off services. 🌷Catch the end of the summer vacation and plan a trip to these niche islands!

Xingcheng, as a tourist city, has attractions besides the ancient city, including Juehua Island (called Peach Blossom Island in the Song Dynasty, not sure if it's the one in Jin Yong's novels, but it could be promoted), and several beaches. We visited Longhuitou and Bikini Plaza. 👍 Most recommended: Longhuitou has nice scenery and has been developed into a park. The road to the seaside is a cliff with intersecting boardwalks. The beach is relatively narrow, and there aren't many people. However, there are no cafes or anything, so you can only stand/sit on the viewing platform. 👍 Most recommended: Bikini Plaza is also a beach (Xingcheng is one of the three major swimwear bases in China). Many photo props for beautiful women to take pictures with have been built, and the famous large underwear sculpture houses a restaurant. It's not clear if it's open as the entrance looks a bit shabby, and there are quite a few weeds growing on the plaza. 📝 Tips to note: According to online sources, Bingjiawan also has nice scenery with a beautiful lighthouse worth visiting. We didn't go as it was too late. 🚉 Transportation guide: Longhuitou, Bingjiawan, and Bikini Plaza are all by the roadside, making them very convenient if you're driving.
